"love you more than you can imagine" he says picking me up and spinning me around
"no makeup today?" i ask
"wait are you asking me right now?" he asks surprised
"yeah don't want to make it run in the water but i don't want to go out looking dead"
"no you don't look dead baby you look beautiful just like this" he says looking at me in the eyes with lust
"okay thank you" i say hugging him
"you ready?" he asks
"yeah i guess"
"are you okay?" he asks with concern while looking for a sign of me being in an off mood
"yeah i'm okay let's go" i say softly
"okay" he says grabbing my hand and walking downstairs to the car. he politely opens the passenger side door for me and i thank him.
"you want aux?" he asks
"yes please" i chuckle
once i start playing the music we jam to some songs we both love and go to our favorite cafe in laguna beach. we walk in and get seated i put on my sunglasses. connor looks at me strangely
"why the sunglasses?" he asks
"it's bright in here" i say
"are you feeling okay y/n?"
"yeah i'm good" i say
"but why are you wear-" he starts but the waitress soon comes up
"hi guys what can i get you guys started with drinks" she says sweetly
"can i have an iced tea please" i smile
"i'll have an iced coffee please" connor says
"okay i'll be right back" she says
"thank you" connor and i say in unison
"baby why are you wearing sunglasses? you never wear them unless we are in the sun or the car" he asks softly. i sigh
"i wish i put some makeup on today" i say
"like just a little bit cause i feel like i look nasty and sick" i say
"nonono y/n you don't look nasty or sick at all. you look absolutely gorgeous but if you want to wear makeup for yourself then you should. don't do it for other people. i just thought that if you wore it today then it'd run in the water and i think you look beautiful with or without it" he says holding my hands across the table
"thank you it means a lot. you're right. i shouldn't feel the need to put makeup on for other people it should be for me" i say
"okay here you go" the lady comes back with our drinks and we order our food.
we enjoy our breakfast together and head on down to the beach to meet up with some friends.
"it's summer oh my god!" i say swinging my arm while holding connors hand. we laugh walking down to the beach towards our friends dylan, calysta, grace, hunter, sam, shawn and olivia.
connor ran up to the boys and i walked behind him considering i was the outsider in the friend group that no one really talked to. connor introduced me to his friends (these people) shortly after we started dating. ever since i was a kid i was very antisocial and shy. they tried to make an effort to include me but i like to just watch them have fun.
"hey y/n" shawn said coming up to me and hugging me. out of everyone, shawn was probably the one i was closest to but still not close at all.
"hey" i smile and walk with connor. we enjoy ourselves for a while until the boys come out of the water and connor pulls me aside from the group.
"hey baby. i just wanted to talk to you about something. it's summer and i want you to have an amazing summer. but i want you to let loose a little bit and trust these people. they're my friends and they would never hurt you. please promise me that you'll be you tonight and have fun" he says holding my hand at shore
"okay i can try" i smile kissing him
"that's my girl" he says.
"want to get in with me?" he asks
"uh yeah let me put my phone away" i say walking back to our bags and putting my phone away. i did what connor said and let loose. most of them were caught off guard by me talking a lot to them and cracking jokes every now and then. i enjoy myself around them and i wish i did earlier. i could tell connor was happy cause he smiled widely everytime i made an effort to talk to someone.
after a while we started snapping pics before the sun started setting and played some beach games. soon, the sun started coming down and shawn took out his guitar as we sat around the fire. connor and i sat on a blanket together as he put his arm around me at stared at the sun setting.
"thank you for today" i say
"thank you for trusting me and opening up to them" he says and we kiss
"get a room" sam jokes. olivia punches his shoulder and he winces
"dick" olivia mutters and connor and i smile into the kiss
