Chapter 2 | Sarah

Start from the beginning

"Why didn't we go the normal way?" George whispered to Sarah, who glanced around every corner before walking down a corridor.

"Slytherin's loiter around the dungeons since other houses are all above ground. They would get suspicious if we walked past," Sarah replied. This area of the dungeons was forbidden to students, but Fred and George decided not to mention it. Since only Filch and the teachers would be down here, the corridor was lowly lit, flaming torches attached to the green bricks.

"Oh of course, because we're Gryffindors," Fred muttered, feeling slightly dumb. He ran a hand through his red hair, which was in a quiff for a change.

"Not even that, you're the Weasleys. If a Slytherin saw you down here, they'd report you. Also me, I've been caught sneaking Snape's stuff three times, each time I messed up because I went the normal way," Sarah explained, narrowing her eyes every time a suspicious sound was heard.

"How many times have you snuck in?" George asked before Fred could, but they were both extremely curious. Sarah counted on her fingers, finally came up with the answer '15'. Fred almost whistled, rather impressed with her score.

"Amazing," Fred muttered, shaking his head.

"Thanks!" Sarah replied, shooting Fred a grin.

This passage led them directly to the Ingredients cupboard, which was at the end of a seamlessly empty corridor. The door was the same green, blending into the walls. The handle had scratched silver paint dotted over it, like it once sported a shiny gold. Sarah stopped the twins from walking by placing in front of each of them.

"Only step where I step. Snape set up multiple traps here after he caught me in here the second time," Sarah muttered, before she made her first move. She took out her wand, marking where they could stand. Fred went after Sarah, placing his feet where she made her mark. When Fred was on the second mark, George stepped onto the first mark.

It was around a minute before the three made it to a small box Sarah had marked out.

"This is what Snape set up after the first time I was caught," Sarah informed, placing her wand into the keyhole, Fred and George listened to her reciting:

"I, Severus Snape, the Potions Master, wish to access my Ingredient area," She finished, her voice calm and collected. The door opened with a creak, and the three walked in.

Sarah climbed the ladder to retrieve the Newt's spleen, whilst Fred held the ladder and was on guard. George set up the prank that would await Snape. Once Sarah had the spleen, she began climbing down the ladder. Even with Fred holding the ladder, it wobbled dangerously.

Once Fred helped Sarah down the ladder and George finished setting up the prank, the three left the cupboard briskly. They closed the door, jumped on the marks and removed any other signs of human activity. Sarah even removed the markings on the floor with a simple swish of her wand.

They made it to the place where they would brew the potion, after grabbing all of Sarah's ingredients from her dorm and a banana from the kitchens. The girls bathroom had a small pool of water collecting due to it's inhabitant, Moaning Myrtle. The three set up a cauldron quickly, hoping to avoid a run-in with the wailing ghost.

"Are you sure no one will find us in here?" George asked, closing the bathroom door quietly. He seemed a bit on edge, which was understandable. Fred glanced at his brother, his wand halting from attempting to clear away the water.

"Don't worry, Georgie. Sarah knows what she's doing," Fred said, nodding to the dark haired girl chopping the apple

"Yes, Sarah knows what she's doing," Sarah piped up, shooting George a reassuring smile.

"Isn't this where Hermione made the Polyjuice potion?" Fred asked, continuing to magically push the water away from Sarah.

"Mmhm. She actually told me about this spot. I used to make people potions in broom cupboards. This place is far better. Lots of water," Sarah replied, stirring the potion anticlockwise.

"So, you must've been in broom cupboards a lot," George joked, laughing. Sarah laughed too, continuing to stir the potion.

"Yeah - Once, I was in a broom cupboard with Cormac Mclaggen, who needed a love potion. They take a year to make, so I found myself there quite often," Sarah laughed, adding the spleen into the cauldron.

"Cormac? No way! He was always trying out for keeper. Never got it though, mind you," Fred gasped in disbelief.

"Wood was always better than him. Considering he was captain, I'm suprised he even held tryouts for keeper," Sarah replied.

"Who'd he use it on?" George asked.

"I don't know. Don't want to know either. I dated him once and he's not that impressive," Sarah replied, causing Fred and George to laugh.

Soon, Sarah finished the potion, pouring it into a flask. It was a neon, purple liquid. It did look quite pleasing to drink.

"It should taste like apple milkshake, I think," Sarah told Fred and George, handing them the flask.

"Apple milkshake? Never had that before," Fred mumbled.

"That's because it doesn't exist," Sarah chortled.

"Thank you, Sarah! You should do pranks with us more often," George said, as the three returned back to Gryffindor Common room.

"I will take up on that offer anytime. Just ask me!" Sarah replied, beaming.

"Of course, but seriously, thank you," Fred said sincerely.

"Any time," Sarah smiled one last time, before heading over to her group of friends.

Fred and George ran over to Lee Jordan eagerly, excited to tell him of everything that had happened. They sat next to Lee, who's dark skin was still tanned from holiday and his dreads tied back.

"Lee!" Fred and George exclaimed in excitement. Lee jumped, but quickly noticed they had the flask.

"My merlin! Sarah Copper is a miracle worker," Lee said in disbelief, holding the flask close to his eyes. The three boys were silent for a moment, mesmerised by the purple liquid swashing against the glass sides of the flask.

"Also, she's going to join in on some of our pranks. She has some crazy ideas!" Fred exclaimed, excited beyond explanation.

"Hell yes!" Lee exclaimed in excitement.
