"Let's just say it or it was really really expensive. My dad is gonna freak."
He looked at me
"Speaking of dads I heard about your old man. Sorry man."
"Yea."
"Sorry it got out like that too."
I was suddenly annoyed but I tried not to let him know that I cared.
"Yea scarlet took care of that for me."
"What do you mean?"
I didn't want to say anything but he would find out anyway if he didn't already know.
"Scarlett told Luke."
He shook his head.
"Are you sure. That's not what Luke told me"
"What did he tell you?"
"He said that he overheard some dude over at New York Deli talking about it."
I stopped walking.
"James?"
He shrugged
"I don't know man. I would ask Luke for you but... you pretty know the rest."
I suddenly felt like I stupid idiot. How could I be so dumb. I blamed the wrong person because i can't trust people. I was dumber than dumb.
I kept walking "um... I'll catch up with you later Jonas. I have too do something."
"Alright man. Catch you later."
I hurried out the building and looked around. She must've left already. I ran down the sidewalk until I got to my house. Out of breath I looked over at the house across the street. I froze. There she was sitting on her porch. She was bent over something. Probably drawing so she didn't see me. I just stood there. I didn't know what to do. I could just approach her but what would I say.? What would she say? I blamed her for know reason. I took a deep breath and walked over. I would just have to take whatever she said. I deserved it. When I finally got over to the other side she looked up at me. I stopped and everything in me froze.
"Hey." I said. I didn't know what else to say
"Hey." She said. She looked back down at whatever she was drawing. "You came to apologize didn't you?"
"Yea. How did you know?"
"Why else would you be over here? Plus I saw you standing over there for at least a minute like some weirdo."
"Right." I said slowly
"Well." She said continuing to draw." it must a pretty good apology because I'm still really mad at you."
"You have a right to be."
She looked up at me.
"Your off to a really bad start you know."
"Well. What do you want me to do." I said agitatedly
"A simple sorry would be a good start."
I sighed.
"I'm really sorry." I said
"Good." She said "now say it again but this time on your knees."
"What?"
"Nah. I'm kidding."
She went back to her drawing.
"So do you forgive me?"
She paused but didn't look up at me.
"I don't know. What you did was really hurtful. You blamed me for something I didn't do."
