The second encounter was not as annoying for the orb. A friendly undead skeleton gave the orb hugs as it followed the orb in it's journey every once in a while and would dance and fool around as they ventured, it would even clank it's teeth in a beat making it sound like it was singing a song. Sadly, the skeleton bade farewell to the orb as they passed by an underground graveyard mid-way in their journey to bury itself in one of the empty graves. It was quite the disturbing experience for the orb.
Moving on, the third encounter was a dying man leaning on the side of a wall. He asked for the orb to keep him company however his complexion looked pale, eyes were red, and veins becoming more visible on his skin, they were even turning purple. The orb was taken a back at first but he truly looked like someone on death's door. The orb felt empathy for the man and so he stayed with him.
The man told the orb his story, of how his comrades betrayed him for the treasure they found in one of the dungeon rooms saying that they didn't need him because he was dead weight for the group and how their leader stabbed him with a poisoned blade and left him there to die. The orb stayed with him until his last breath, the man thanked the orb for being with him before he truly passed away.
Not too long after, the orb continued on it's journey leaving the body of the man behind and bade it farewell.
A few months has passed, and the orb had managed to reach the lower levels of the dungeon. It's senses tell it that it is close to the place it needs to be at however the orb couldn't take it anymore.
The place was so big that even in a few months the orb could only explore only a small portion of the entire dungeon, it felt like the place was an endless maze made to trap some force there forever. The orb could only hope that it wasn't that "force".The orb, just as it was about to give up it's dim light started to shine brighter than it was before. Together with the crazy light show happening in the orb, waves of what feels like adrenaline and excitement built up within the orb.
The light that emminated from the orb began to shoot out in random directions like back in the time the moonlight reflected off of the orb, before the orb even woke up. As the light began to get even brighter one of the beams of light that shone in one of the directions began to become even brighter together with the orb itself.
All the other lights dimmed but the one that shone brighter together with the orb remained. It pointed to a wall where the orb had passed before and on a certain spot on the wall as well. The pattern of the dungeon halls, especially the walls were always in this brick wall like pattern, the same pattern you'd usually see in those of normal brick structures but one of the bricks that the light pointed to was slightly protruding from it's position.
Following the light the orb arrived at the wall it's light was pointing to. It pressed it's body against the protruding brick and nothing happened.
Whirr?
The orb was confused, it was certain that something would happen after it pushed back the brick. Was it just some random out of place brick for nothing?!
The orb was annoyed, feeling like it's expectations were betrayed and it's time was wasted. However just as the orb was going to turn around.....
Clank, clank, clank!
Sounds similar to a gate opening rumbled throughout the hallway leaving the orb suprised and sort of...smug? It knew something like this was going to happen but it didn't expect it would be this loud. If it had a face the orb would be smirking, proud his own intellect and instincts.
It turned around and it saw a room, not a toture chamber nor an armory or a treasury it was just a quiant little room you would see in lots of villas. There was a bed, a chair and a table with papers scattered across it, and bookshelves filled with very old looking books that has been collecting dust for quite some time.
As the orb gazed upon the contents of the room the shock it felt before came to suddenly assault the orb and it's senses. It was stronger than ones the orb had experienced before and made a cry of pain.
Whiiiiiiiirr!
It's body felt like it was going to shatter and it's mind was going insane. A burning sensation tormented the orb . Tiny cracks started to form around it and little electric sparks constantly appeared near the cracks of the orb. It just wanted the pain to end and just rest.
With the pain that surged came the same urge it felt before, like the shock the urge was stronger. And made the orb move towards the room even if pain clouded it's mind and judment.
The whole ordeal only lasted seven seconds but those seven seconds felt like an eternity for the suffering orb. The pain died down and the urge grew weaker, but it's body was in shambles.
The cracks on it's body were bigger than it originally was and the consciousness of the orb was fading in and out as time passed. Just before it even reached the table inside the room it's mind became blank and......
SCHING!
The orb crashed down onto the floor and it's beaten up body shattered into thousands of pieces of glass shards. The dim light that was in the center of the orb didn't disappear but remained to shine in the thousands of pieces of glass shards on the floor.......
