"I'm sorry but I'm actually really busy right now," I apologized with a smile and then continued to walk forward. I could hear the kids muttering to themselves but I did not care to listen in on what they were talking about. All of the sudden I heard something flying my way, I immediately jumped sideways to see the soccer ball passing inches away from my face. It soon fell to the ground and then bounced right into the park's pond. I hesitantly looked back at the kids who looked distraught that their ball missed the Target and ended up in the pond. Their faces then became filled with rage as they began to run after me all while insulting me. I immediately started to run and did not stop until I realized that I was in the middle of the city, ironically exactly where I wanted to be.
I promptly walked up to one of the many humans who were walking on the sidewalk to ask them where the nearest bank was.
"Oh what's that dear, the nearest bank? That would be two streets down from here and it's the furthest on the left."
I thanked her and went by the directions she gave me. I had almost forgotten how busy the Earth cities can be during the day, it's nowhere near as busy as the biggest shopping planet in the galaxy, but it does have lots of traffic for it's size. The bank was not very far to walk to at all, I had to cross a few crosswalks to get there but other than that getting there was a breeze. I noticed a very thin alleyway right between the bank and a Moondollars restaurant that was just barely big enough for me to squeeze into. I took this opportunity to use the converter to convert the credits into the human currency. Once I put a credit into the converter I browsed through all the conversion options until I found the option to convert to human currency. There were several different types to convert too, but I was luckily knowledgeable enough to convert to the American currency.
One credit was apparently worth one thousand dollars, so I decided to convert a thousand in total so I would have enough money to buy a house and necessary supplies. When I inserted all one hundred credits into the converter and pressed convert, to my surprise a slip of paper came out instead of a bunch of hundred dollar bills. I picked it up and it read 'One million dollars and Lucky Lottery'. This must be what is called a check. I put the converter back into my bag and walked into the bank with the check still in hand.
There were not many people in the bank seeing that it was in the middle of the day and most humans were probably at work, which made me curious if the kids I saw at the park were skipping classes. I walked up to a bored looking lady behind a counter who took a few seconds to notice that I was there. Upon seeing me her eyes lit up and a broad smile plastered itself on her face.
"Hello! What brings you to our bank today? Oh hold on a second, isn't school still in session, skipping classes now aren't we?" she said in a sweet tone which had a hint of sadism. I mentally sighed to myself, I had to deal with these kind of situations often because I stopped growing early making me quite small in comparison to the rest of my family. Though, getting treated like a child did come with a few benefits and the cons were not too hard to work around.
"You could say that I guess, though it depends on how you look at it. I was so moved by the financial lesson we had in class that I wanted to come here straight away to set up my own bank account and get started! Just consider this a self enforced field trip."
"Oh well in that case, good on you for being so proactive about your studies! Okay so if you could just go over to that machine over there to take a- nevermind just follow me please!"
She opened the gate that let her get out from behind the counters and walked over to a door at the leftmost side at the bank and motioned me to go inside. It was a small room with two chairs on one side and a desk, computer and chair on the other side. I sat down in one of the small chairs while the lady sat across from me in the desk chair.
"So you want to open a checking account, yes?"
"And also a savings account, having both would be more preferable."
"Okay so I'm going to need your name, date of birth, email address, phone number and social security letters. Oh and since you're a minor I'm going to have to get some sort of approval from a parent."
"Alright my name is (y/n) (l/n), I was born on (m/d/y), my letters are AGP-SO-GAR and mom's contact number is 6062080. I don't have a phone number or email address currently, could I possibly get back to you on that at a later time?"
"Yes that will be fine, I'll contact your mom right away about opening an account for you. Oh and would you like your card printed here or shipped to your home address? If you get it here it will be ready by tomorrow, but there is a fee of ten dollars and if you choose to have it delivered it will arrive in about a week and it's free."
"Here would be fine, also may I deposit the money I have on hand into my account now?"
"Well I'll have to wait until your mom replies- oh wait, she just did and she's completely okay with everything! How much money are you depositing today?"
I gave her the check that was still in my hand and her eyes scanned over it. Her cheerful expression slowly changed into shock. There was a moment of silence as she stared at the check with wide eyes. "A million... Y-you won," she tried to force words out but could not form a coherent sentence. She then took a deep breath and resumed to smiling.
"Wow! Lucky you, I'm so jealous! Also just so you know, our bank only covers up to three hundred thousand dollars so if I were you I'd create more accounts so your money stays safe. It's your choice, but you can keep the remaining seven hundred thousand to put into other bank accounts."
"I'll look into that more later, for now I'd like to deposit it all and transfer it into other accounts later when I have the time."
Soon after that my business at the bank was over. I still needed to acquire a residence and enroll myself into some school system since this world sees me as a child. It's school or staying locked inside my new home for weeks on end and I prefer freedom to being locked indoors all day. Now I just needed to find a real estate company to talk to so I could buy a house to live in. It was then I remembered that in order to buy a house you needed to be an adult, which I did not look like. In this case I had to use the dreaded serum to temporarily change my body to look more mature. The effects would at most last eight hours, which was more than enough time I needed to pick and purchase a home.
