Chapter Twenty-Three

"Mr. Holloway, is everything alright?" Curtis said.

Gray realised he'd been silent too long. "Yes," he said, assessing what his next move should be. "I've changed my mind about seeing my brother this afternoon. However, I think I may need Matt Power waiting for me in my office upon our return."

"Yes, sir," Curtis answered and u-turned across three lanes of traffic back toward GH Holdings headquarters.

Gray now had an unprecedented change of plan, one that involved finding out exactly what Lina was doing at his brother's head office, taking his brother's business empire down, and somehow winning back his wife in the process. He looked out the window of his car at the bright spring day- perfect for a bit of world domination.

Matt Power was already waiting for him as he strode back into his office.

"Come in," Gray said to him and they entered his office, closing the door behind them.

This was one person he was pleased to see today. Matt entered the office and got straight to the point. "Lina is a mole."

Gray didn't even flinch. "That's what I thought."

"She's on Dylan's payroll, that much I managed to find out."

"So Dylan's planted her in my company."

"Exactly. I suggest we do a screening of some of your other employees. Especially Simon."

"Simon!" Gray paused, deep in thought. "You have a point there. I really hope you're wrong."

Gray picked up his phone. "Simon, can you come into my office, please."

Simon entered moment later. "Mr. Holloway, is there anything I can get you?"

"Have you ever worked for GH Holdings?"

"I worked for Ulysses Enterprises before this. I was the concierge on the front desk."

"Ah, yes, I remember now. Did they ever have any dealings with my brother?"

Simon frowned in concentration. "I don't believe so. If I had some inside information I'd happily give it to you but unfortunately, I've never had anything to do with your brother apart from when he comes in to see you."

"I would say you are very fortunate not to have had to deal with my brother. Thanks, Simon," Gray said by way of dismissal and Simon left the office.

"I'll do a proper background check to make sure Simon is clean, but he sounds like he's innocent," Matt said.

"That's what I thought, too."

"Can you run background checks on anyone I employed at GH Holdings since Dylan's release from jail?"

"I'm on it. It might take a while though."

"Take as long as you need, I just need results." Gray looked at his watch. "Fuck. It's late. I need to try and find Quinn."

"Quinn?"

"I need to try and catch her before she goes out for dinner."

"I wondered what the two of you were doing out on a date the other night," Matt said as he picked up his laptop and briefcase since Gray was doing the same.

"You saw us?"

"In the paper."

"So you recognised Quinn in that disguise?"

"Not at first, but eventually I worked it out."

"You're the best, Matt. That's why I keep coming back to you. I've really go to go."
