(F/N) looked at his friend and nodded, "Oh...of course." They both walked over to Stephen's body, Alex had enough sense to throw a tarp over the body. So no one would have to look at it, while they walked Alex kept staring at (F/N), in utter disbelief. (F/N) awkwardly scratched his neck, he was about to say something until Alex whispered, "Are you (F/N) (L/N)Bell?"
(F/N) stopped dead in his tracks, he gave Alex a confused look, he didn't say anything for awhile, but he finally said, "What the hell are you talking about?"
It had been forever since anyone except Maty-Beth or Tilly had called him (F/N) (L/N) but he wasn't Micah's son, only one time in his life had he sunk so low. Alex's mouth dropped, he was still whispering, "Oh my god, you are him! It all makes sense! And that's one of your buddies, what was his name? Marston! Holy shit! The whole time there was an infamous outlaw right next to me!"
(F/N) shushed Alex, there was no use denying what he had figured out already, "Okay, okay, shut up...yes...I'm (F/N) (L/N)."
Alex's mouth dropped, in utter disbelief, "I just have to say...I'm a big fan...that Blackwater massacre you survived made you a legend! I mean I've always been a fan of legendary gunslingers but..."
(F/N) shushed him again, and glanced back at John and Dickens, he wanted to tell him to just shut up, but then an idea came to him, "Shut up. Listen...do not tell anyone...as a matter of fact...how about you head back to Saint Denis, take the horse on the wagon. Say you need to bury Stephen or something. I'm going to stay here for awhile."
Alex frowned, as he slowly began to protest, "But...Mr. Briars said I needed to..."
(F/N) interrupted, and spoke quietly, "I saved your life. If you want to pay me back. Do that and tell Leslie about what happened, tell her I'm stuck up here...and that I met the Marstons."
The eager man looked at his friend for a long time, but finally nodded, "Alright, I suppose I owe you for that." (F/N) took no pleasure in Alex's compliments, there was a time, not to long ago, he would have smiled at having killed all these men. But after losing all his family, he didn't consider having a high number of kills as an achievement, if anything it was something to be ashamed of.
(F/N) grabbed Stephen's legs while Alex lifted him by his shoulders, Stephen's long wool shirt was already caked in blood. Alex noticed that John was looking around for any more Laramie's but he would keep casting a glance at (F/N), his hatred for the man was unmistakable. Alex shook it off, he had no idea why (F/N) wasn't bolting as far away from this place as he possible could.

As soon as the group of three made it back to the ranch, they were greeted by Mr. Geddes, and a small group of ranch hands. As soon as John slowed the wagon to a stop, the ranch hands went and gathered the supplies. (F/N) hopped out of the bed of the wagon, Geddes seemed concerned, "What happened to your other man?"
"He took our friend's body back to Saint Denis, he's got family down there."
Geddes nodded, "Of course, of course. What about you? Are you still planning to stay?"
(F/N) nodded, as he tried to explain why he wanted to explain, as if the main reason wasn't sneaking glares at him, "I am. Although might I ask if I could help around the ranch? My boss...with all do respect...isn't a very logical man. So when he get's wind that we lost a horse and a wagon, it might make him happier if I had some money to replace what we lost."
Geddes burst out laughing, "In the same day that I get supplies for a fence, I get a new ranch hand who's begging for work. You got yourself a deal Cassidy." The two men shook hands, and Geddes started walking to the barn, "Take the rest of the day off son, you earned it. Dickens take him to that small cabin, he'll live there for now."
