"Hey! Brat! You can't do that, it's cheating!"

Killua looked over to see an older-looking man, who was panting at him with anger. He looked like he was struggling to keep up.

"What?" Killua asked him. Two popped into the man's view from next to Killua, and Leorio pointer at her, too.

"We have to run! You guys are cheating!"he raged, now obviously very exhausted. Two panicked when she saw his angry glare.

"I- I uh-"

"Leorio! It's not cheating!" A boy with dark green hair tried to interfere, but Killua stood his ground, for both him and Two.

"Hey, old man, he only said to follow him, not how too. Leave her alone." Killua responded. The boy in the green nodded next to him. Leorio scrunched up his nose in annoyance.

"Whatever. It's not like you'd make it without those skates, anyway." The man turned around and left the subject alone, and the green-haired boy turned to face the pair.

"I'm sorry about my friend. He's very tired."

"It's not your fault. Thank you, for um, defending me," she said quietly. "You too, Killua."

Killua was busy glaring at the back of Leorio's head, but when he was addressed, he smiled at Two. "No problem," Two returned the gesture with a small smile. Killua then turned his head to look at the dark-green-haired boy. "How old are you?" he asked.

"I'm twelve!" The boy cheered, smiling at Killua. The white-haired boy recalled his own age, which was the same as this strangers. He did a complicated trick and hopped off the skateboard, sending the skateboard flying straight up in the air and then catching it in one hand.

"Woah!" the boy and Two chorused, both equally marveled at the trick.

"I'm Killua." he greeted, pointing a finger to his chest.

"I'm Gon!" the boy clad in green replied. "Hey, what's your name?" Gon asked the meek brunette next to him. She inwardly panicked, stuttering out her words.

"U-um. . . W-well, I-"

"This is Two." Killua interrupted, not wanting Two to embarrass herself in front of this new possible friend. Killua got the sense that Two didn't have many friends, if any. He was right.

"Two? Like, the number two?" Gon asked. Killua and Two nodded simultaneously. "Okay!" he exclaimed. "Have you guys been friends for a long time? Or did you just meet here?"

"We met a few hours ago," Killua explained, nodding his head towards Two. "I didn't think I'd find anyone here my own age, especially a girl."

"Neither did I! But, I did find Leorio and Kurapika." Gon agreed. "Well, I mean, I hoped that I would find someone, but I didn't expect to. Especially a girl."

Two sighed at their words. She knew they weren't trying to mean, but their words were still insulting. Just like what her 'dad's' colleagues said. "She's just a girl, it'll be too much for her!" Well, I survived, didn't I? She thought. But she let it go, since she knew these two seemingly innocent boys didn't mean it Iike that.

The pair continued to talk for a while, until Gon noticed her again. "Hey, Two, why didn't you say something?! I forgot you were there!" Killua looked beside him, where Two was running. He hadn't forgotten she was there, but she didn't really seem interested in conversation at the moment.

"I guess I'm pretty quiet, huh?" she smiled. "Sometimes I prefer to listen." The smile reached her eyes, and Gon knew she was genuine. His ever-smiling face nodded at the brunette's words in understanding, and he turned his eyes to focus on the approaching stairs.
