Chapter 25

With that I start cleaning the rest of the house moping the floor, dusting the pictures and everything else.

Then the front door opens and I see Chase walk in.

"It's about time you got back. Where were you?" I ask sternly

"At the mall." He replies

"Wait what!" I say surprised

"At the mall."

"But I was at..."

He cuts me off.

"I was in the food court." He says

"Oh."

With that he walks up to his room and leaves me to finish cleaning.

Jody's POV:

I wake up the next morning hoping that it's Sunday but no it's Monday.

I slowly roll out bed and walk to my sink. As soon as I see my hair it looks a bomb went off on my hair.

That is also known as Bed Head, it's not the most fun thing ever.

I brush my hair with my hairbrush and put it into a side braid and then I change out of my pjs and into my clothes that I set out on my bed the night before.

As soon as I get downstairs my brother, Brody, stops me at the end of the stairs.

"Don't say a word to mom. She is really upset." He says with a concerned look on his face

I've never seen a concerned look on my brothers face ever. So this is bad.

"What happened?" I whisper. "Did dad leave her?"

"No she lost her job." He says

I remember when my mom first got her job, she said and I quote "Best job ever!"

"How could they do that to her?" I ask and Brody shrugs

They honestly couldn't do this to my mom. She was their best worker and they let her go.

I push past my brother and walk into the kitchen to find my crying mother.

I feel so bad for her so I walk up to her and give her a hug.

"Thank you sweetie." She says in between sniffles

"You're welcome mom." I say once I break away from the hug

Then I walk over to the cabinet and pick a cereal and pour a bowl and sit down at the island and start eating.

I finish eating and put my dish in the sink before I pack my backpack and head out the door to wait at the bus stop.

I get to school and as I get off the bus I see the basketball team taking pictures.

I smile before I disappear inside the school.

Chase's POV:

I had to get up early and get to school early because not only do I have basketball practice but pictures for basket too.

As we stand out on the football field I see Drama Girl getting off the bus.

I fight the feeling of running over to her and lifting her off her feet, but I can't. I honestly want to but I can't because of pictures.

As soon as pictures are done we all jog inside the locker room and change into our regular clothes.

I don't wait a moment so as soon as I get all my stuff in out of the locker room looking for Drama Girl.

I find her at her locker putting her books inside her locker.

"Hey." I say walking up to her

"Oh hey." She says her face lighting up

"Want me to walk you to you're class?" I ask

"I would love that." She says smiling

As we walk down the hall together I see everyone looking at us, even Sam was looking our way and let's just say she looks pissed.
