"Not saying."
"Alex."
"Ugh! Alright, I called you Nate!"
"See? That wasn't so bad now was it?" he smiled as he folded his arms. Oh, he was enjoying this. "And just admit you like it when it bites you down. You were begging for more, being very needy."
I could feel the blood rising in my cheeks. "Stop saying stuff like that!"
He let out a hearty laugh. "Alright, I'll stop." He looked at the digital clock that was sitting quietly on his desk. "I have a meeting at three so I'll need to use the conference room. Go and get it ready. Oh, and you're sitting in with me today."
Rich man say what? I've never sat in a meeting before.
"I need someone to jot down key points for me today, that's why you're sitting in," he continued. "And no, I can't read your mind but your face says it all."
"Right," I nodded my head. "I'll go get the room ready then."

To anyone who enjoys meetings because they are a way to get 'out' of work, fuck you. How can you possibly find this treachery enjoyable?
I have been stifling my yawns for the past hour while typing away on my laptop. Pretty sure I typed and backspaced the word 'boring' more times than I can count.
"As you can see, the location is perfect. It's a spot that tourists frequent, and it has many high school students coming here due to it being a fashion street. It's also close to the underground metro system," Mr Tan, a man in his early forties explained.
They were talking about a joint venture to open a new mall and I am bored as fuck.
What's so interesting about a place to shop? It's another typical mall we are talking about here. Not even family-friendly or eco-friendly. I ain't that old but it sounds so vanilla.
It because oddly quiet for a minute there and all heads were turned towards me. That's when I realized.
"I said that out loud, didn't I?" I asked, quietly. Shit, I'm in so much trouble. "I'm sorry."
"No, don't be. In fact, I like your input," Nathan says. "I like the idea of it being family-friendly. It grows our targeted age group. The mall should indeed be eco-friendly. What are the sustainable methods of construction and resources that we're utilizing for this project? Are there any different entertainment facilities that can attract people of all ages?"
He turned towards Mr Tan, expecting an answer.
"We will be looking into reducing our carbon footprint-" Mr Tan continued, seemingly unhappy that I butted into their conversation.
I sank quietly into my seat, making sure to keep my mouth shut this time. I thanked the heavens that I was working for Nathan or I may very well have been fired for talking too much.
Fast forward to another one hour later (I'm sure you don't want to hear the boring details of the meeting), and we are finally done.
"Thank you for your time Mr Chia. The revised proposal will be emailed to you in a week." They shook hands and he left the room. I finally can take a breather.
"Some guts you have there for thinking out loud."
I shut my laptop and glared at him, my eyes shooting daggers. "I said I was sorry. Don't make fun of me."
He raised his hands up, a smile forming on his face. "Who gave you that idea? I told you, I liked your input."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Right."
"Glad that's over. We can finally call it a day." He stuffed his left hand back into his pocket while he adjusted his tie using his right. "By the way, you on break yet?"
"Yeah, term break. Just started. A few more months and I'm out!" I did a fist pump into the air like a mini celebration. No assignments, no exams. Hell yeah!
"I see." He answered a little more monotonous than I expected. He was looking at me as if he had something to say.
"A few more months then," he mumbled.
I looked at him with confused eyes. Was he a little upset that I was graduating soon?
"What do you say about a trip to Taiwan?" he questioned, attempting to change the topic. It worked.
"Taiwan?" I placed my hands on the table and straightened my back. "I've never been there!"
"Well, I need to be there to check out the location for the mall that I'm building. Could take a few extra days for leisure purposes. What do you say?"
"I'm game! When do we leave?" I was so excited you could practically see my ears peeking up and a tail wagging behind me.
"In two days."

A/N: Vanessa's persistence in needing the details gives me life.
Someone that shouldn't have appeared, has made her entry. Who do you think it is? Any thoughts on her appearance at this stage?
Nathan seemed a little down. Why so?
I can't wait for their trip in the next part. Who knows what might happen!
