Then they head off. The next day, they arrive in the Safari Zone, well, the reserved part of it. The area they're in has pokemon that are off limits to capture since it's like a repopulation area for the more rare pokemon.
The gang runs into a couple that lost their son, Tommy five years ago from being dropped from a helicopter from their new, but very stupidly irresponsible nanny, who was fired immediately after.
They learned that Tommy is now known as Tomo, a sort of trainer for the Kangaskhan in the reserve.
They agree to help find Tommy, but were found carrying them on a large bed of wood, as if they were royalty. "Sorry, but Papa hasn't been in the best of shape." The woman said while Ash thinks And what's your excuse?
"You just had to say we'd help Ash." Misty complained. " Well, "We'll help you find your son." DOESN'T translate to "Let us carry you like we're Egyptian slaves, you child losing people with bad taste in nannies.", does it?" Ash retorts.
The mother felt guilty and got off, as did the father. "Well, I might as well try to exercise."
The gang sighs in relief. Ash sees an injured shiny Kangaskhan mother and an injured shiny baby Kangaskhan and rushes to them with some Max Potions.
He sees the mother has a white heart shape birth mark on her forehead and she recognizes her.
It was the baby Kangaskhan that with Pichu so long ago. He forgot the baby was adopted by her mother, hence why she is shiny.
"Oh Kangaskhan, do you remember me?"He asks, the Kangaskhan almost immediately recognized Ash and gives him a big hug after Ash heals them with the Max Potion. Tomo sees the whole thing while hiding and decides to trust Ash.
Tomo approaches Ash and says "You know Kangaskhan?"
Ash was shocked to see Tomo, but nods. He uses his psychic powers to help Tomo to remember his birth parents, which worked, but he is torn who to stay with? His birth parents or the Kangaskhan. Ash asks Tomo/Tommy's parents about staying with the Kangaskhan with Tommy. After all, family is supposed about love, more than blood.
The three agrees with this and the Kangaskhan that Ash helped wishes to go with him, to who Tommy and Ash agree too. The gang reaches the Safari Zone and Ash catches 30 Tauros, one for himself and the others for the Professor, to who the Tauros agrees. He also catches a rare Onix near the caves, and a Shellder near the water. He trains some of his pokemon, especially his baby Ponyta and he scans his new pokemon and Ponyta, who he forgot to do.
[Ponyta, the Fire Horse Pokemon.If you've been accepted by Ponyta, its burning mane is mysteriously no longer hot to the touch. This Ponyta is level 35 with the Ability Flame Body and knows the moves Agility, Flame Wheel, Flame Charge, Stomp, Fire Spin, Inferno, Heat Wave, Quick Attack, Double Kick, Fire Blast, Morning Sun*Egg Move*, Thrash*Egg Move*,Thrash*Egg Move*, Hypnosis*Egg Move*, and Horn Drill*Egg Move*]
[Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon.They fight each other by locking horns. The herd's protector takes pride in its battle-scarred horns. This Tauros is level 55 with the Ability Anger Point and knows the moves Rage, Horn Attack, Thrash, Leer, Double-Edge, Outrage, Work Up, Swagger, Headbutt, Zen Headbutt,Payback, Stomping Tantrum, and Iron Head]
[Kangaskhan, the Parent Pokemon.Kangaskhan's maternal love is so deep that it will brave death to protect its offspring. This Pokémon's tongue is always hanging out. It uses its tongue with great dexterity to dig up sand from the seabed in its search for food. As it digs through the ground, it absorbs many hard objects. This is what makes its body so solid. This Onix is level 59 with the Ability Rock Head and knows the moves Bind, Smack Down, Dragon Breath, Rock Slide, Screech, Slam, Sandstorm, Dig, Iron Tail, Stone Edge, Double-Edge, Earthquake, Dragon Tail*Egg Move*, and Head Smash*Egg Move*]
Ash sends off Shellder, the Tauros, including his own, Onix, Slowpoke Lickitung, and one of the the Poliwhirl and gets back Machoke, Graveler, Goldeen, Grimer, Horsea, , Nidorino, Nidorina, and Tentacool.
The gang then heads off after their business at the Safari Zone. Brock catches a Machop, his own Tauros, and a Nidorino.
Misty catches a Seel and a Tentacool.
They make plans to go to a digging site and wonders what will happen next.
As the journey continues.
