With one arm around Kai's waist and the other around Ashley's shoulder, I squeezed them as tight as I could. Kai's chin rested on my head as he squeezed back.

"I'm going to miss you idiots so much," I said, my voice wobbly.

"Shut up and go, before you make me cry," Ashley said, her voice thick with emotions.

"You better come visit me," I said, letting go of them, reluctantly. I looked at them and pinched my lips together when I saw the same emotions reflecting in their eyes.

"You bet, we will," Kai replied, his tone heavy.

With one last final goodbye, I took a deep breath and went out the door. As I settled in the cab, the sudden realisation of going back to the people I'd left behind made my stomach twist with anticipation.

I really didn't know what to expect.

***

I was woken up by the air hostess asking me to buckle in since the flight was about to land.

Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I buckled my seat belt before looking out of the window. My stomach did a couple of flips as I watched the ground get nearer.

I had not gone back home, even once these past years I'd been in London. Instead, I chose to dedicate myself into doing different internships and jobs so that I could be read by the time I had to go back.

I had been in touch with Grandpa the most, he kept in touch with how I was doing there. I did talk to Andrew a lot and occasionally got to FaceTime both Emma and Chloe too. I felt tickles in my gut as I thought about the last person.

Daniel.

While I had been in touch with him initially, we lost contact over the years. I didn't blame him. Both of us got really busy with our own lives and had a lot to figure out. Last I'd heard, he had finished his degree in architecture and had started working with one of the biggest firms in the country.

I didn't know a lot about his current life but my mind couldn't stop from wandering into the direction of the questions that were burning inside of me.

Would he want to see me after all these years? Did he have a girlfriend? Was he serious with her? Did he think about me as much as I did? Would we be able to go back to how it was? Was I even going to see him soon?

All these questions did nothing but make me queasy. While I had been open to new relationships back in London, my heart was never into the guys I went on dates with. Somehow, it always came back to just one place.

To divert my attention from these thoughts, I turned my phone on, checking the last text I had gotten from Grandpa. A car should be waiting for me at the entrance with my name board.

I sighed, knowing absolutely nothing about what to expect. Once the plane had landed, I switched the internet on to check if I had any texts from Emma or Andrew.

I frowned when I saw none. They knew that I was supposed to come today, right?

Maybe something came up.

I pushed these thoughts out of my mind before getting up to go out of the plane.

It took me almost an hour to go through all the immigration procedures and collect my luggage. By the time I was done, I was almost ready to fall out of tiredness.

I dragged my stuff with the trolley outside and let my eyes wander around to see if there was someone with my name on a board. I frowned once I didn't see anyone.

Please don't tell me that Gramps forgot.

I prayed that he hadn't forgotten about this. I was about to go check the cab service when I felt two muscular arms slide around my waist and lift me in the air, twirling me around. I squealed in surprise, my heart jumping at the sudden movement.

The moment my feet touched the ground, I swivelled around to see none other than my favourite person grinning down at me. I almost had to do a double take of his appearance.

He had dyed his hair dirty blonde and his body supported a beautiful tan that accentuated his muscles that seemed to have grown, compared to the last time I saw him, which was forever ago.

"Drew!" I exclaimed, launching myself at him for a tight hug, which he gladly returned with equal enthusiasm.

All the energy that had drained out, came back in full force once I saw him.

"I can't believe I finally get to meet you! I missed you so much!" I exclaimed, my happiness not knowing any bounds.

"I missed you more!" He said before giving me a once-over. "Look at you Skye, even though you look like a dead woman walking, I see you've become even more beautiful than the last time I saw you!" He grinned, making me roll my eyes.

Trust him to insult and compliment me in the same sentence.

"Me? Have you seen yourself? You're like double your size, and your hair is golden!" I said, ruffling his hair before poking his biceps which were pure muscle.

Even after his muscle gain, his physique didn't look bulky. He was on the leaner side which made him a lot more attractive. I bet he had a lot of girls fawning over him.

He chuckled at my excitement and mocked me by flexing his biceps. "Oh you mean these little things," he joked.

"Looks like you're a supermodel now," I teased him to which he smirked.

"You bet, I am."

Andrew had initially started with a business management degree since he wanted to prepare himself to take over the hotel chain. But while in college, he started to get a couple of modelling offers. Once he actually started doing well in it, he dropped out of college and became a full-time professional model, and I couldn't be any more proud. Meanwhile, Emma took the responsibility of the company.

"Let's go, Emma and Chloe are dying to meet you," he said, making me squeal with excitement. I didn't let the question at the tip of my tongue come out, even though I wanted to know about the fourth person so bad.

Instead, I focussed on the two women who came barrelling towards me when they saw me approach the car.

Chloe was the first one to reach me. I was surprised to see how much she had grown. She was a lot taller now - I could barely rest my chin on her head. Her hair was longer and she was absolutely stunning. I could easily see how guys would fall for her in the future, if they didn't already.

"Skylar! I'm so happy to see you!" Chloe squealed and she held onto me with a vice grip.

I laughed as I hugged her back. "I can't believe how much you've grown, Chloe!" I exclaimed, ruffling her hair.

Andrew had to practically pull her off me after he saw that it was getting harder for me to breathe. She looked at me with an ear-splitting grin and her big doe eyes.

I gave her a small kiss on the head before turning to hug Emma. All of us exchanged conversations, telling each other how things were going, even though all of us had talked just a couple of days ago. The atmosphere was light and filled with laughter, making any nerves I'd felt earlier go away in a second.

I was finally home.

I woke up with my stomach grumbling for food. I groaned as I tried to go back to sleep, snuggling further into the blankets.
