12 (十二): Home

"I should get going."

"Stay!"

[Name] turned to see Akiteru and his mom sync in saying it. The three of them laughed as the girl nodded. Taking out her phone and texting her parents, she then went inside and took off her shoes. Tsukishima looked at her and stood behind her. 

"Give me your bag so I can put the groceries in the kitchen." 

[Name] nodded and gave him the bag as he walked into the kitchen. She followed in suit as she walked into the kitchen.

"[Name]- chan, can you help me?"

Nodding, she helped the mom cook as both boys went upstairs. Washing her hands and making the rice, she had a conversation with the youthful woman who talked about her sons. Taking out a large box, she asked what was inside before putting it in the fridge.

"It's strawberry shortcake! Kei's favorite!"

[Name] looked at the dessert and smiled. The middle blocker had a sweet tooth. Finishing up, the [hair color]- haired girl set out the tableware before she was sent upstairs to retrieve the boys. Walking upstairs, she wandered in the halls, aimlessly. 'I should've asked for directions!'

She opened doors that led to a closet, bathroom and the laundry room before stumbling upon a locked door. Knocking, she heard a grunt.

"Uhm, food's ready."

She heard shuffling before the door opened and she was met with a dinosaur. Looking up she saw Tsukishima wearing a dinosaur shirt. She giggled as she moved aside to let the boy out of his room.

"What?"

"Nothing, I just think your shirt's cute."

Tsukishima looked away, trying to hide his flushed cheeks before pointing [Name] the direction of his brothers room before swiftly going down the stairs. Once she got Akiteru to come down, she sat in front of Tsukishima as everyone ate.

"[Name], you told me earlier that you are staying here for a while?"

"Oh, yeah! Although I may be going back next- ish, month. It truly just depends on my parents decision."

Akiteru and his mom nodded, clearly happy that she was in their house. Tsukishima couldn't help but become annoyed as she mentioned her depart from Japan was closing in.

"Y'know, you're one of the only people that knows Kei, here."

Looking at him, he almost choked while drinking his water. He excused himself as he walked up the stairs to his room. Akiteru looked at the girl and apologized for his younger brother's behavior. She excused it and understood the situation. His mom gave the girl two slices of strawberry shortcake, motioning her to talk to the boy.

Walking up the stairs, [Name] looked at the door before speaking up.

"Tsukishima, I have strawberry shortcake."

The door clicked and the boy opened the door for her. Walking in, she looked at his dinosaur collection and books. Putting both slices on his desk, she stood near the door. Closing the door behind her, the boy went to his chair and sat down, taking a plate and fork for himself.

"You can eat on my bed.." He mumbled and motioned her slice and his bed.

 Shaking her head, she took her plate and sat on his rug, beside his bed. Turning his chair, he faced her and she looked back at him. He had whipped cream on his nose. Trying to stifle her laugh, he looked at her, weirdly.

"There's whip cream on you!" She pointed and laughed, causing his cheeks to blush a deep red.

His useless attempt of wiping it off made her laugh even more before she stood up and walked closer to him. She rubbed off the whip cream and licked her finger. The boy couldn't help but feel a flutter in his heart. He also shook his head, trying to not let his mind wander off, somewhere.

Putting the plate on his table, he pulled her wrist and made her sit on his lap. 

"Tsukishima-"

"Kei. Call me, Kei."

He whispered, hugging her. [Name] stiffened as she looked at the boy in front of her. Loosening up, she wrapped her arms around his body, hugging him back as he dug his face into the side of her neck.

"You're so annoying.. and yet, I can't get you off my mind."

'Neither can I, Kei.'
