Prisoner: what life? I killed 4 of his men. He'll never let that slide.

Me: he will if you earn his trust back. Respect him. Talk to him. Even when there seems to be no hope...there always will be.

I left the bowl & went back inside to Jacob.

Me: the prisoner is fed. What's my next task?

Jacob: did he eat it this time?

Me: ...no...he didn't. But I think he will.

Jacob: his choice. But whatever. Listen...I got a prisoner downstairs. He tried to take out an outpost & he's a whitetail militia. I want to see if you're capable of getting information out of him.

Me: why me?

Jacob: don't ask...you're just very...calm.

Me: ok...consider it done.

I went downstairs to a bunker below his Veterans Center & there was a Whitetail Militia man tied to a chair surrounded by 2 guards.
I kneeled down beside him. He had blood everywhere!

Prisoner: please....no more....

Me: shh... I won't hurt you. My name is Angelica. I need some information.

Prisoner: about?

Me: the Whitetail Militia...

Prisoner: I...can't. I can't betray them.

Me: are they looking for you?

Prisoner: I...I don't know...I hope so.

Me: look at me...I can promise you medical care if you tell me what I need to know.

Prisoner: I...I don't need medical help...I'm fine. I'd rather die than betray my brothers.

Me: do you have a family?

Prisoner: I did...

Me: what happened to them?

Prisoner: they were killed. By John Seed.

Me: I know how you feel.

Prisoner: how! How do you know how I feel! What have you ever lost!

Me: my parents. My friends. My confidence.

Narrator POV

Little did Angelica know that Jacob was standing behind her listening to everything she was saying. He was impressed too. But also upset. About her past.

Angelicas POV

Prisoner: I'm sorry.

Me: you're lucky.

Prisoner: how?

Me: you're still alive right? You've had a family. You've had friends. You've had love. Some people don't get those luxuries. Now...please tell me what you know.

Prisoner: ok...ok... they're led by Eli Palmer. In a bunker over a mountain. Near the Grandview Hotel. I've heard about the bunker but I've never been to it. There's a guy there named Wheaty & a girl named Tammy Barnes. She has a hunter kidnapped & she's torturing him. If he doesn't give up the radio tower jammers...she'll kill him.

Me: listen...what you just told me...will save lives. I promise you that.

Prisoner: can you promise me freedom?

Me: I can't...but I can promise you strength.

I turned to leave when I heard the prisoner call back to me.

Prisoner: is it day or night?

Me: it's day.

Prisoner: the sun is shining?

Me: yes...bright.

Prisoner: will I see you again?

Me: no...I'm afraid not.

Prisoner: why?

Me: because I have orders. & restrictions. But remember what I told you. I promise you strength.

Prisoner: I won't forget you.

Me: I won't either. The best of luck to you.

Prisoner: you too.

I walked out as I heard dead silence & then I saw Jacob at the top of the steps with a puzzled expression.
