A Beautiful Friendship

"I got a C.I. I can talk to about that." Jay informed.

"Perfect, take Adam with you." Ana ordered.

"Yo, Sarge." Kevin called, gaining the woman's attention.

"What's up?" She responded.

"You know, I grew up in Harvey, right there near the construction site. That's Two-Eights territory. Nothing goes down there without their permission. I know a guy. I think I can lean on him a little bit, see what he knows." Kevin explained.

"Oli, can you go with him?" Ana asked, receiving a smile and a nod in response.

"Actually, I think I'm gonna do this by myself, O." Kevin informed.

"Oh, hey, everyone, Atwater's been in the unit two minutes, and already he's put himself in charge." Alvin sassed as everyone applauds and cheers.

"Hey. Congrats, bud. I knew you were management material." Jay chuckled.

"Oh, no, no, that's not what I was trying to say." Kevin started.

"What were you saying?" Alvin questioned.

"It's just-"

"You're worried about him, a white cop, blowing the deal." Ana smirked.

"Yeah." Kevin sighed.

"Maybe after 20 years working undercover, I know how not to get made, anywhere in the city." Alvin snarked, walking off.

"My bad." The officer apologized and followed the older man.

Ana shook her head and joined her husband in their office, Hank looking up at her arrival.

"It's time, Henry." She informed.

A little while later, Hank is standing outside the car, waiting for Sheldon to exit the building he's meeting Stillwell in. Ana waits in the back, smoking a cigarette. Sheldon finally walks out, and pales at the sight of who's waiting for him.

"Let's go for a ride." Hank suggested.

He watched Sheldon walk to the car and he shoves him into the front, before joining his wife in the back.

As they're, well, Sheldon is, driving, Ana takes a drag and exhaled it with a sigh.

"I told you, just like everyone else, the second I decided to let you into our unit. I have eyes and ears everywhere. If your hiding something that could harm the team, I'm going to find out." Ana reminded him.

"I'm surprised you didn't notice Severide sitting at a nearby table or standing a few feet away, listening in to every one of your meetups with Stillwell." Hank chuckled.

"We know about your father, Sheldon. Everyone gets squeezed at some point." Ana added.

Hank instructed Sheldon to pull over as they approach the Silos. He made sure Ana was out of the vehicle, and a few steps away, before roughly grabbing the techie and shoving him against the hood of the car. Sheldon looks over at Ana for help, but she just stares at him blankly, dropping her cigarette stub and stomping it out.

"You violated my number-one rule. So you better hope to God I like whatever comes out of your mouth next." Hank growled.

"Who do you work for?" Ana questioned.

"You." Sheldon sobbed. "You."

The couple shares a look and Hank lets the techie go. They get back in the car and drive in silence.
