Finding The Missing Piece

Start from the beginning

The next morning at 0400 we woke up and gathered our stuff and had some chow before we started up again.

“Town, third building on the left, tunnel underground, ten Marines.” I heard my dad’s voice in my head. I shook my head and looked around me to see if I wasn’t going crazy. I stopped eating and rushed to pack up my stuff and grabbed my rifle and my men followed my lead and within a minute we were on the path to this town we were heading to.

Three hours later, I was perched up on top of a small hill covered in brush with my gun and looking through the scope, waiting for any sign of someone. My men, Tank and Price, along with Pierce were on the ground going into the buildings, with my other men, Roback on watch since he’s our medic and Rowan with Diaz on watch as well.

“Make sure you check the third building on the left good, I have a feeling someone is in there, friendlys.” I said to them through our ear pieces and a few minutes later, Tank and Rowan went into the building and I heard gun fire and Diaz ran in after them. I couldn’t see anything through the thick wall with this scope,  so I waited for word before I moved.

“All clear, sir, you may want to come down here.” Tank said and that was my que to move. I got up and ran down the hill and went into the building.

I found my men all around a huge hole in the ground, with no ladder to get down. I got a flare and dropped it and it went a few feet so at least we can jump with no issues and climb back out. One by one we went into the hole and we turned our flashlights on and it was a long tunnel and the closer we got, my wolf, Tidus was pacing back and forth and whimpering which isn’t like him at all.

“Sir, we have friendlies tied up, they don’t look hurt just tired and in need of a shower.” Tank said and I walked into the room and my eyes landed on one of the most beautiful men I had ever seen in my life.

He’s our mate!” Tidus kept saying, wanting out to go be with our mate. I ran to his side and took the rope off of his hands that are tied behind the back of the chair and the one around his legs. He wasn’t awake so I picked him up and God the sparks, I felt them in my soul and I went weak feeling them and his scent, green apple and honey, making me get hard which makes it hard to walk but I had to get him out of there.

Once we were all out of the building, we got into the humvees with the men we found and drove off. Since our mission is done, I’m going with my mate to the hospital for him to get checked and then I’ll go home and deal with the heat of not leaving right away like we are supposed to do. I don’t have anything anywhere besides what is in my pack on my back so I got into the bird with my mate and the other men and we all went to the hospital.

My mate was taken to get checked on when we landed and I waited with my men for word on the ones we rescued.

“I found my mate.” I said and they looked at me and smiled.

“What about Liam?” Tank asked.

“I’m not sure, I know Liam will be ok, it’s my mate I’m worried about. He’s human so I will just have to take it slow and see how things go.” I said and he nodded.

“I found mine as well.” Pierce said and we smiled.

“Congrats you two, couldn’t have happened to two better people.” Price said and we talked for a little while but mostly just sat in silence, thinking of things. I couldn’t help but wonder what Liam would think of me finding my mate after everything he’s been through.

“He’s fine, he’s just resting. He’s dehydrated and needs some food but other than that, no wounds on him. I don’t know when he will wake up but you’re welcome to stay. The other men are resting and awake, they are eating and drinking fine. You all can go see them.” The doctor said when he came up to us.
