Chapter 22: To the Tower

Y/N: (thoughts) How far did this idiots go out?

Sasuke: Naruto! That's not enough! I want at least four more for curing!

Naruto: (annoyed) You know this is very taxing! How about you come over here and switch with me!

Y/N: Hey idiots! (they look to me) Come on get the fish over here! The fire's ready!

Sasuke: (starts to head back) I guess four is enough.

As we left Naruto starts going on a full rant. Before we could head back any further, Sasuke stops me.

Sasuke: I thought your father was dead?

Y/N: He is.

Sasuke: Then why did he come save us when those Sound ninja came by?

Y/N: (shocked) He did?

Sasuke: He did.

Y/N: Well he has been overprotective of me over the years as I was not his first son to lose. But, he is dead. The reason why he still roams is that he is a phantom or a revenant of the NetherRealm.

Sasuke: Revenant? NetherRealm? What's that?

Y/N: The NetherRealm or more commonly known as Hell is the darkest realm and where evil resides. It's filled with demons and monsters that are possessed by evil. Additionally, damned souls are transported there if they have committed certain crimes. As for a revenant, they are the resurrected beings that Quan Chi has risen from the dead that now serve him. But from what I can see, Grandmaster Hasashi is not controlled by the sorcerer. 

Sasuke: Do you fear that you may have to fight him?

Y/N: I hope I do not have to but, I must prepare should that occur.

As we walked back, Sakura was already waiting by the fire and I sat next to her. We couldn't really make any sort of movement such as holding hands as it would give away the secret we were holding so we held off for now. Naruto comes in later holding four fish and sticking them on sticks to let them cook over the fire.

Sasuke: It's been four days since the second exam started.

Sakura: Yeah.

Y/N: The second exam had started around three in the afternoon so as of now, we have about twenty-five or twenty-six hours left. We already got the two scrolls correct?

Sasuke: We lost the Heaven scroll to Orochimaru right after you were transported to the NetherRealm. We got the Earth scroll from Dosu though. (holds Earth scroll up)

Y/N: We're in a tight spot now. (notices food is cooked) Food's done now. It should be safe to eat.

Sakura: (holds onto fish) For all we know is that there could be no more Heaven scrolls left.

Sasuke: What do you mean, Sakura?

Sakura: Four of five days have passed already. We've used at least 80 percent of the total exam time. Seventy-nine participants and 26 teams. There are only thirteen scrolls of each one.

Y/N: While at most there may be thirteen squads to pass, doesn't mean there are anymore Heaven scrolls. I'm sure there are other squads that don't have an Earth scroll out there.

Sasuke: After breaking away from the other Konoha teams, we all allotted for two days of resting.

Y/N: (thoughts) So I've been asleep for at least a day huh?

Sasuke: From here on out, we must increase the distance of our actions.

Y/N: The next enemy we encounter may be our last chance to pass.
