💫Chapter 26💫

Start from the beginning

Asmodeus cooed. "Exactly, sweetheart~! You don't have to do it today. Besides, with us on your side, you'll know how to tame an angry Satan within a matter of two seconds," the Avatar of Lust rambled. "All we need to do is teach you the basics."

"Yeah! For example, when he's angry, ya don't wanna try and calm him down immediately. Ya wanna try and taunt him, make him boil even more," Mammon said. Asumi raised a brow in disbelief. How was that going to help? If anything, that would get her killed on the spot.

Asumi opened her mouth to speak but Beelzebub shoved a piece of Brutal Chiffon Cake into her mouth. The food muffled her scream of shock. "Then you want to make sure to make him feel useless. That's the best part!" Leviathan cheered, "if you put more wit into your words, it'll twist Satan's mind and BOOM! He'll be so twisted that he won't even know what's going on! Then, we'll pin him down and then you go get Lucifer."

Asumi chewed and swallowed the cake that Beelzebub placed in her mouth. Her eyes widened. "That's... an odd way to calm someone down," Asumi finally spoke. "Right? It's weird, but it works," Belphegor nodded. "But, Mammon, that's the demon way of doing it. Shouldn't we be teaching Asumi the more human-friendly version?"

Asmodeus thought to himself with a grin. "Well, considering what Asumi can do, she shouldn't have a problem, right~?" the caramel-haired demon cooed sweetly. Asumi giggled nervously; again, it wasn't her who was using magic.

"Exactly. Cheer up, Asumi. I'm sure Satan wouldn't mind waiting just a little longer," Beelzebub said, "I'll get you some more cake at Madam Scream's if it will help you relax."

"Yeah, brighten up, human! I'm sure he won't get that mad over your decision," Mammon added with a cheer. Asumi let out a sigh of relief. "Alright then. I'll confront him tomorrow, but for now, let's just head home. I need to relax," she grinned.

At the House of Lamentation. . .

Even though she was told to not overthink it, she did anyway. The brown-haired human sprawled over her bed in deep thought. How was she going to play this? There was no time for pointless stalling over a silly, worthless pact, was there?

If there was anything that she could do now, it would have to be her decision to reject Satan. Asumi got up from her spot and stood in front of her mirror and took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, Satan, but I can't accept your offer," she recited but scrunched her face after a moment. "Ugh, no! Too formal, too formal... How about...?"

Suddenly, a voice walked in on Asumi's speech rehearsal. "Who are you talking to?" the voice said. Speak of the devil.

"AH! SATAN!" Asumi shrieked. "I was passing by your room and heard you talking. There's no one here," Satan chuckled. "W-what? Am I not allowed to talk to myself ?" Asumi narrowed her eyes, quickly making up an excuse.

"Yeah?" the blonde-haired demon raised a brow with a grin, "what for if you don't mind me asking?"

Asumi hid her hands behind her back. "It's none of your business. Now get out of my room," she snarled. Satan only frowned in response. "Is something angering you? You can tell me," the blonde-haired demon said. "Uh... Yeah, about that, could you maybe meet me in the Assembly Hall after school tomorrow? I need to talk to you in private," the brown-haired human stammered. "Of course," the demon responded and turned to leave the room, but stopped short by the door frame, "I await your response."

He gave a small grin before closing the door behind him.

Asumi rolled her eyes and sat back down on her head with an annoyed expression on her face. It already seemed like Satan knew what she wanted to talk to him about. She slapped a hand to her face. What did she just say anyway?
