Chapter 3. An Unexpected Wedding

Start from the beginning

A few minutes later Barry was sitting on the porch leaning against the fence, trying to clear his head when Oliver came around the corner.
"If you're here to apologize..." Barry said and held up a hand as a warning. Oliver sighed and put his hands on the fence and leaned against it.
"You know I don't really do apologies." he responded shortly.
Barry sighed. "I get it, you're just sick of being stuck with me and you did what you always do. Lash out at the people who cares about you and just wants to help you." he said and Oliver looked into thin air instead of him while he spoke. Maybe he was right. Maybe I should open up more and be more like him.
"No, Barry, it's not that. It's just that I've had to kill to survive. I've watch so many of my friends die and I draw on a darkness every time I draw back my bow, so seeing you and Kara just laughing and joking around... it pisses me off. More than I would care to admit." Oliver said and threw a quick look at him. Barry looked up at him with empathy in his eyes.
"When I'm happy I run faster and I focus on all the people in my life that I'm running towards. Iris, my friends, you, everyone that I love." Barry said and he realized his choice of words after they had slipped out of him. He started blushing and hoped Oliver didn't notice. The archer looked at him again.
"If we're going to be married to each other..." he sighed and Barry finished the sentence for him.
"Maybe we need to start acting more like it."
Then suddenly the door opened and Kara stepped outside. "Finally!" she said and Oliver and Barry looked at her as if she had been eavesdropping the whole time. "Super hearing, sorry. But I've been sitting in there waiting for you guys to figure this out and I have a lot of thoughts." she said and picked up their rings out of her pocket. They gave her another odd look. Why did she pick them up?
"You think I should try to act like a better husband?" Oliver asked Kara and she nodded.
"Yeah maybe you should. Maybe it would help." and then she turned towards Barry. "Come on. Try it." she said and playfully slapped his arm.
Barry smiled. "What?" he asked in confusion and threw a glance at Oliver.
"You have to act the parts. 'I take you...'" she said and started laughing. Barry chuckled too while he stood up and grabbed Oliver's hands.
"I take you Oliver Queen..." he joked and both of them chuckled softly as their cheeks turned red.
"Wait, we're actually doing this?" Oliver asked shyly and blushed even more as he looked from Barry to Kara who was holding their rings.
"Yes, you are. How are you going to pass as a married couple in this new reality if you never actually got married?" Kara wondered and they both blushed again.
Then Kara steered them both to the first step of the steps on the front porch. Oliver noticed that Clark and Lois soon joined them to stand on each side of the stairs.
"This is ridiculous." Oliver said and sighed. Kara was shaking her head. She had set her mind to this and she didn't take any no's for an answer. She placed Barry's hands in Oliver's and they both blushed again.
"Do you Oliver...?" Kara realized she didn't know their whole names before she started marrying them. Barry chuckled.
"Why are we doing this?" he asked but Kara simply ignored him and nodded to Oliver to give her his whole name.
"Oliver Jonas Queen." Oliver sighed while shaking his head. This is crazy. I'm actually about to marry Barry Allen. For real. Even though we're both already married in the real reality. But before he planned to say it Barry's full name slipped out of him too. "His full name is Bartholomew Henry Allen."
Barry looked at him in confusion. "How do you know my full name?" he asked because he couldn't remember he'd ever told him what it was.
"I had Diggle look you up the first time we met since I didn't trust you. But I know everything about you." Oliver said and that made them both blush again.
Kara cleared her throat and got everyone's attention again. "Do you Oliver Jonas Queen take him, Bartholomew Henry Allen to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for better and for worse as long as you both shall live?" Kara asked and gestured to Clark to give Oliver his ring for Barry.
Oliver gulped looking at it and he felt more nervous than he felt marrying Felicity when they had their fake wedding. "I do." he said with a low voice without looking at Barry. His heart was hammering in his chest while he placed the green diamond ring on the younger hero's finger.
Barry's heart skipped a beat. This is really happening. We're rewriting our own reality. No one is controlling us right now. He had to remind himself that it was his turn when Kara spoke again.
"Do you Bartholomew Henry Allen take him Oliver Jonas Queen to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for better and for worse as long as you both shall live?" Kara repeated for Barry to answer.
"I- I do." he noticed his voice was shaking a bit. Jeez I'm more nervous and moved than I thought I would be. I shouldn't be. This isn't real. It's pretend. Barry thought when Lois gave him the red and golden ring to put on Oliver's finger and they both blushed when he did.
"I now pronounce you married. You may kiss him." Kara said and placed a hand on Oliver's shoulder while she was giggling. But he was just blushing. I can't kiss him again. Certainly not in front of these people. That would make this a real wedding. But I really want to kiss him. Oliver couldn't help but throw a glance at Barry's lips but he still was unsure what to do.
"If you don't I will..." Barry said and surprised himself by leaning in to press his lips against Oliver's in a tender but passionate kiss that he'd been waiting for ever since their first one on the balcony at Star Labs. Barry, what are you doing. What about Iris? You know your actual wife? The thoughts ran through his mind while he deepened the kiss and placed one hand against Oliver's cheek while he placed the other around his neck. Ollie is my husband. I'm married to Oliver Queen. And I think I might be madly in love with him. His thoughts disappeared when Oliver returned the kiss with the same intensity and pulled Barry even closer while he deepened the kiss further and slipped his fingers into Barry's hair.
Shit! This is a real wedding. This is a real kiss. It's not a fake reality anymore. Barry Allen is my husband. And I am, without a doubt, in love with him. The archer mapped his husband's mouth out with a newfound passion as the realization sank in.
"Okay, you can stop kissing now, it's getting weird." Kara said and made a grimacing face. Oliver practically had to tear himself away from Barry's lips and when they parted, they simply stared into each other's eyes as if they were the only two people existing in the world. And for a couple of seconds they were just standing there like that, completely lost in each other's eyes. Oliver couldn't stop his mind from spinning. I love him. He couldn't stop the words he was thinking from pouring out of him.
"I love you, Barry Allen." Oliver whispered with so much tenderness in his voice and Barry's heart nearly stopped in his chest.
Did Oliver Queen just tell me he loves me? The Green Arrow loves me? The billionaire by day who saves the city by night... loves me. Barry freaked out when the whole situation just sank in for him. That they had gotten married and everything. He didn't know how to process all the feelings that washed over him so he ran into the house and slammed the door behind him.
Oliver sighed and covered his face in embarrassment while Kara, Clark and Lois were staring at him. Why on earth did I have to say that? I actually told Barry Allen that I love him. And the worst part about is that it's true. I do. I've fallen in love with him. And I think I've been for a long time.
"Oh Rao, what did I just do?" Kara gasped and placed her hands over her mouth when she realized what a mistake this wedding had been.

"No!" Deegan screamed to himself while watching the wedding and the chaos unfold. "This was not supposed to happen. Them being married was supposed to turn them against each other. Not to make them get married FOR REAL." he was screaming at the book of destiny but nothing happened. He hadn't for-seen this and this wasn't something the book was controlling.
"But wait... maybe I can turn this to my advantage? If they're distracted by each other they can't save Central City from my robot." Deegan said and grinned to himself. "Let's see how super distracting a little wedding party can be Supergirl... while I'll pay your cousin a little visit." he said and opened up the book of destiny once again.
