For some reason, the thought reassured him.

It was when her golden eyes lit up with a fire of determination that Smoker knew she had found it. But what happened next was too quick for him to even begin to guess about what she had found.

With her bow pointed to the ground, Hiriko quickly pulled back her arrow and released it. Crocodile watched in shock, thinly veiled fear shining in his eyes. His shock quickly faded though.

The arrow hit the concrete, bouncing off of it and flying off in a direction far from Crocodile.

The room was in silence for a few seconds. Deep chuckles soon broke that silence. Crocodile's shoulder shook as he laughed. His hands left the princess's neck as he threw his head back, laughing wildly, his sanity obviously wearing thin.

A few seconds later he turned to face Hiriko, mirth dancing in his eyes as he brought up a hand to wipe away a tear that gathered in his eye due to the sudden piles of laughter that shook his body. "It doesn't seem like you're much of a -- "

However, before he could continue, he finally picked up the sound of a strange sound. That made him notice that everyone's attention wasn't on him, but they were watching something else. However, by then, it was too late. Before Crocodile could turn around, the arrow had punctured his stomach.

Stumbling back, Crocodile looked at the archer with wide eyes, his cool and stoic mask shattered.

Smoker himself watched with wide eyes, he was sure everyone in the room shared a similar expression. Hiriko's arrow had bounced off a porcelain tile in the room and then off a single crystal from a chandelier which bounced it back at an angle that aimed it at Crocodile's stomach. There was no chance that the girl had intended to do that! It must have been dumb luck!

But the look of utter confidence on Hiriko's expression said otherwise.

The straw hat crew watched, mouths ajar and eyes wide as the arrow reached its target. Luffy's eyes shone with stars, his hands moving animatedly as he screamed about how cool that was. Usopp couldn't believe the shot. In all his life as a sniper he had never made a shot that could even be compared with what he had just witnessed. Zoro let out a shout of surprise, rushing to the front of the cage in a rare sight of excitement. Nami was frozen, feeling confused yet happy and prideful at the same time. She felt conflicted. On one hand, she didn't want any harm to befall Hiriko. She wanted to constantly protect her. On the other hand, she felt safe knowing she could be protected by her.

As for Vivi, she didn't have much time to react as Hiriko suddenly faced her, and "now Vivi!" was the only thing she said. They hadn't discussed anything. They hadn't planned anything. They had barely known each other for two days! But for some reason, Vivi knew exactly what to do and she didn't hesitate to do it. With all the force she could muster, she slammed the arrow Hiriko had given her into Crocodile's thigh, not thinking of the consequences.

But as the man's crazed glare was directed at her, her blood froze and she found herself unable to move. She could only watch as he brought his sharp hook closer to her, vaguely registering the crew's shouts to move. She snapped her eyes shut, preparing herself for the pain, yet it never came. In fact, all she felt was the wisp of a sudden wind.

Chancing a peak, Vivi found herself looking up at Hiriko, the girl carrying her in her arms much like she had done with Miss Allsunday.

Setting Vivi down on her feet, and steadying her when she wobbled, Hiriko gently squeezed the girl's shoulder, whispering something to her before handing her another arrow (this one with a fletching) and pointing to the group still trapped in a cage. With a newly ignited fire of determination, Vivi set out to try and pick the lock.
