Welcome to the U.A. Sports Festival!

Start from the beginning

"Present Mic sure did talk us up a lot... kinda makes me nervous..." Kirishima said, a hint of nervousness in his smile as he looked to Bakugo, who was walking in front of him, "How you feelin', man?"

I noted the determined smile on Bakugo's face, which sent shivers up my spine from how angry and prideful it looked.

It was clear to me that I didn't have to fear Bakugo as much as I did back in elementary and middle school, mostly due to how my U.A. classmates weren't worshiping or fearing him either, but that didn't stop me from realizing that he was still a scary person. Of course, if I ever want to teach him a lesson in being nice, I'm gonna have to find a way past the fear...

"I'm not worried," Bakugo said, his voice even sounding determined, "It makes me wanna win this thing even more."

I glanced around at my other classmates, seeing a few of them going through a few different emotions displaying their thoughts about the sports festival, but I was happy to see that their loose trances, which they were bound to snap out of at any moment due to the large amount of things to draw their focus, were keeping their determination at the top of the list of prioritized emotions; it was interesting to see that a few of my classmates, such as Mineta and Uraraka, seemed to cycle through more negative emotions, like nervousness, than others.

The first thought that came to mind was that the students who were exposed to large amounts of Charm were already building up some form of tolerance. Uraraka during the battle training, Mineta during the USJ incident...

The slightly-increased dose I used in the waiting room was probably less effective on them than the other classmates.

It was surprising to notice this, but it also made me happy to realize that my classmates were building a tolerance to low doses of Charm if I used larger doses on them; I still felt a tad guilty for using large doses on them, but this side-effect of that made it seem worth it to do so. Now I won't have to wait months to make genuine friends! Especially after I use that twenty-percent of Charm on them today, which I don't know when that will be, but still!

A smile came to my face as I redirected my attention forward, and I gently squeezed (F/N)'s shoulder.

"They haven't been getting nearly as much screen time, but this next group is still chock-full of talent," Present Mic said as my gaze moved over to view another group of students entering the arena, "Welcome hero course Class 1-B!"

I perked up as I recognized the class name, remembering the silver-haired boy from the crowd that blocked the door.

It would be a lie to say that I wasn't nervous about facing them in the sports festival, since students that made it to the hero course usually had amazing Quirks and were skilled when it came to using them. ...would my Quirk be called amazing if people knew about it? I think some people would think it was cool, probably before asking me to never use it on them...

I shook away the frown that had begun forming on my face, not wanting to dwell on things I wasn't sure about.

"Next up, general studies classes C, D, and E!" Present Mic continued, making me glance around the arena to see other students exiting various corridors, though I was unable to recognize any of them because of the distance between them and me, "Support classes F, G, and H! And, finally, business classes I, J, and K!"

Even though I knew that I would have to face off against the first-years from the other classes to keep my spot in my class, I couldn't help but let a smile come to my face as I remembered interacting with a few of them in the hallways over the past two weeks; it seemed like a lot of the people that had been in the crowd that blocked the door remembered me to some extent, and, while I mostly just used them to train my Quirk, it made me happy to see them talk about how hard they were training for the sports festival. And, now, I'll be able to compliment them on their skills! I... just gotta make sure I show off my stuff too!
