9. Healing Us.

'Looks like you did a pretty good job of keeping him calm', I praised as I grabbed his hand.

'I owe you one Noah', Lee smiled as Noah shook his head. 'Not this time you don't', before pulling him into a brotherly hug.

I smiled towards June and Matthew as they watched the scene unfold between their two boys. I wasn't the only one with tears in my eyes.

'Why don't you guys head home for a bit?', Noah suggested to his parents as he pulled away from Lee and clapped his shoulder.

I agreed, 'Yeah, go and get some sleep'.

Matthew and June gave us appreciative looks as they gathered their things. Matthew clapped Lee on the shoulder while June pulled him in for a hug 'Be back soon baby, okay?'

Lee nodded 'Elle and Noah have this under control'

'Okay. Love you all', June squeezed my hand before she followed Matthew out of the room.

'Finally. I have my slaves all to myself', Lee grinned as Noah and I laughed.

'Yes master. What do you need?', I fluffed his pillow as he thought for a moment. 'Food? Foot massage? I ain't doing no sponge bath....Noah will have to do that being your BROTHER and all'

'Hey!' Noah laughed as he took a seat on the chair and grabbed the remote.

'Food would be good. But, any chance you could check in with Rachel?', Lee shot me a worried look. 'I haven't heard from her at all and I kinda feel bad....'

'Lee it was an accident yeah?' I argued as I grabbed my phone from my bag. He shrugged and I rolled my eyes as I headed towards the couch. I grabbed the remote from Noah and nudged him out of the way.

'Hey!',

'You sir, go and take care of the problem of 'Lee wanting food', I'll take care of Rachel', I ordered as I brought up Rachel's number on my phone.

E. Hey lovely, how are u feeling? Just letting you know that Lee is awake. Dude is worried and asking for you. xx

I heard Lee laughing from the bed as he watched Noah try and figure out whether it was worth arguing back or just to suck it up and follow orders. He chose the latter.

'What does everyone want?'

'Did you talk to Rachel? Don't look at me like that Elle! I know you've been messaging her. Your eyes have been glued to your phone', Lee rambled as he looked over at me from across the room. If his leg wasn't tying him down he would have grabbed my phone and read the messages himself.

I smiled as I clicked my phone shut just as Noah was walking back into the room. His arms were full of food and an extra large coffee that had my name all over it.

'Me please', I said as I put my hands out as both Noah and Lee laughed at my antics. Noah passed my coffee over and I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before inhaling deeply.

'Elle!', Lee whinged and I rolled my eyes.

'Calm down Lee, before you set the heart monitor off. I spoke to her......'

'And.......' He motioned for me to continue as Noah looked back and forth between us.

'And.....she'll be here soon. She's on her way', I grinned as I sat back in my chair watching the words wash over my best friend and a smile adorn his face.

'You are awesome!' He pointed towards me before turning on his brother. 'And you are an idiot. Why you haven't proposed yet is beyond me'

I swear Noah choked on his burger, while I turned a shade of red. Lee, oblivious as ever dived for his food, his mind clearly not registering anything other than Rachel.
