"How did we end up here again?" Poppy asked rhetorically as all the girls excluding Aisha stood in the headmistress' office with Beatrix. Forgot to mention, they broke her her out of her cell. Break someone out of prison was officially ticked of her bucket list, Oliver would be so jealous.

"We are being supportive friends, now suck it up you plant loving freak." Stella muttered nudging the earth fairy in the side as the two second years stood next to each other. Of course only Poppy could hear the response as Stella was currently invisible to the eye since Beatrix didn't know she was here.

Poppy winked at where she thought Stella was, "I missed you too, frosty." Stella tried to hide her smile but failed as her lips twitched slightly upwards, Stella was forever thankful that Poppy couldn't see her as the teasing would be relentless.

"Once Dane gets here, we can push him through." Beatrix spoke facing the downward spiral fo stairs. They looked fine to enter but after hearing what happened to Callum they'd all rather not risk it.

"Oh my god, prison changed her." Poppy whispered appalled at how unbothered she was, sure she hated the little git but she didn't want him to suffer that much (Oliver and her had already made him suffer enough).

"Seems a bit harsh using him to spring the trap." Bloom leant against the doorway with one arm. It was that classic pose with a cocky arm on the wall and the other on her hip.

"He'll be game. Or he won't, and we'll do it anyway." Beatrix turned her head slightly and smirked.

"What about you?" Bloom asked trying not to be suspicious, "Are you game?"

Beatrix looked at her confused just as Stella materialised behind her and pushed her through the trap. She fell to the floor with a purple spark as the trap was broken, "That was much more satisfying than a flowerpot. See?" Stella gestured and the others walked closer, "Break out the villain to get what Bloom wants, and then trap her again, simple." Stella looked to Bloom smugly, "My ideas rock."

Poppy shook her head quizzing, "How the fuck are you a mentor?" Poppy gestured wildly to the first year who was experiencing the traps punishment, "That is not mentor behaviour!"

The five girls walked past the girl on the floor with Musa pulling along Poppy as she kept on insisting to close her eyes so she didn't look so haunted but the others kept reminding her that Beatrix wasn't dead.

As it got darker Bloom and Musa walked at the front with Bloom holding a torch, Poppy walked slightly behind them whilst Terra and Stella walked behind her using the light source that Stella had created to see.

The only sounds which echoed in the long corridor were the sounds of their footsteps until Stella broke it addressing Terra, "Probably going to regret this, but... you okay?" Stella turned to Terra with a worried look. The three in front didn't turn but it was the only sound in the halls so they were bound to listen.

"I just freed a prisoner and broke into the headmistress's office." Terra voiced looking slightly confused at why she had done all off this but carried on, "Ever since I can remember, whenever I felt scared or unsure, I've always turned to one person for answers. My dad."

Poppy wanted to glance back but felt as though she would ruin a moment if she did so she just continued to walk. Poppy was always the troublesome child but she never thought of her dad as a bad person, she still didn't and most likely never would which is why she felt slightly defensive of her father as her younger sister continued on, "I've always known I'd be able to close my eyes in the dark, and he'd lead me the right way." Poppy knew why she didn't say turn to her because she only properly started helping her when she turned double digits, before that she would play small pranks which always left Terra running to their father. "But... I don't know if he'd lead me down here."

"Look, even the best parents are doing what they think is best for us." Stella reassured strongly even if she didn't believe her own words when it came to her mother, "At some point, we have to take over for ourselves." Stella moved her hand and peeled another ball of light from the current existing one allowing it to float in front of Terra as they walked, "By the way, that outfit..." Stella trailed off looking her up and down. Terra looked very confused for a moment as she looked at her outfit, her head turned out and saw Stella offering a smile which she quickly returned.

After a few more paces they reached a small archway which meant Bloom would have to bend down slightly to walk through. Bloom handed the torch to Musa and stood in front of the old yellow light.

"Everything I've been looking for is right through that door."

"We'll be here when you come out." Musa nodded at Bloom who glanced with slight teary eyes. She took a deep breath before opening the door that opened with a metal creek.

There was a comfortable silence as the four waited in the stone corridor until Terra decided to break it by never seemingly shutting up, "Bloom's been in there a long time. What could they be talking about?"

Poppy rolled her eyes as her youngest sibling spoke and continued to fiddle with the ends of her hair. She loved her sister but the never ending questions annoyed her to no end sometimes.

"I once heard you talk about dirt for two hours." Stella turned to face Terra, her face not amused, "Dirt." Terra opened her mouth but Stella didn't let her and glared slightly, "Two hours."

Poppy snorted slightly as she remembered that. The earth fairy had just walked in from a detention when she saw Stella burying her face into the pillow on the sofa as Terra chattered happily next to her not noticing that she was boring her to death. When Poppy saw that she slowly took silent steps backwards and fazed back through the door heading to Olivers dorm.

"It was soil." Terra defended, "We just left Beatrix lying there in Miss Dowling's office, I just wanna make sure she's not awake, fashioning four shivs."

"Don't be ridiculous." Musa laughed and Poppy caught on.

"It'll be one shiv four times. Stab, stab, stab, stab." Poppy stepped closer and imitated stabbing someone four times, Musa laughed and Terra glared slightly.

"Can we just go and check, please?" Terra did puppy dog eyes causing Poppy to groan and look away knowing she could never say know when either Sam or Terra did that.

"Fine. But you're overreacting." Stella agreed and the four walked back down the corridor.

"Ah, look at that. She's gone." Terra deadpanned and Poppy knew it wasn't the time to laugh but seeing the dead serious look on her sisters face made her giggle slightly. It was like one of this situations where you're sat with your best mate and you can't laugh but then they start laughing and then you start laughing and it turns into red faces and absolute chaos, more often than not involving her and Oliver being sent out of the classroom. Poppy stopped laughing at the looks on their faces but had to turn away trying to silently laugh. "I'd like my apology via scented, handwritten note after we find her."

Musa turned her head suddenly with her eyes glowing, "It gets worse."

Headmistress Dowling stormed in with Professor Harvey and Aisha trailing behind her, "You have no idea of the trouble you've caused."

"We were just trying to find the..."

"Not another word!" Their father raised his voice as Terra only tried to defend her friends, he gestured out the door and looked to the girls, "Come with me."

"Hope the brownie points you get from this will keep you company when you have no friends." Stella spoke as they all walked out past the fuming teacher and dorm mate who had sold them out. The other three glanced at her as they followed behind Stella and couldn't believe she had snitched.

"Insubordination, breaking and entering, endangering the lives of your classmates, and releasing Rosalind?" Poppy rolled her eyes as their father continued listing all the wrongs they had done. It wasn't like she already knew because she had done them, no that would be ridiculous. "Do you have any idea what you've done?" He paused as he let them think about it, "I'd say I was disappointed in you, but this goes way beyond that." Ben Harvey started walking away never uncrossing his arms.

Terra was the only one still standing as the others had taken seats on the chairs and sofa calling out, "You lied again."

"Excuse me?" The father turned around just as he reached the doors.

"About Rosalind. About Aster Dell. About everything. And you're angry with me?" Poppy knew better than to get involved when a sibling was arguing with their dad, "You can't punish me for not knowing something that you didn't tell me. It doesn't make any logical sense."

Stella's lips twitched upwards pridefully, both Musa and Poppy looked uncomfortable for different reasons.

"Well, I suggest you all cool down." The teacher spoke calmly knowing his daughter had a point but not wanting to admit it. The man turned around and left, the door clicking as he did.

Terra stormed over to the doors and tried to open them with all the girls other than Aisha following her, "He's used his magic to seal the doors. I caught him in a logic trap, and he's used his magic to ground us."

"That means you won." Poppy nodded at Stella's words.

"He's overwhelmed." Musa sighed feeling the effects of everyone's intense emotions.

Aisha turned to walk to her dorm but was stopped by Stella who called out to her, "Uh, where do you think you're going?" Aisha spun around slowly and faced Stella who paced forward, "I always knew you were a teacher's pet, I just didn't realise that pet was a rat."

"I was planning on deescalating the situation by removing myself from it, but if you wanna escalate-" Aisha took steps closer and threatened.

"Don't lie Aisha, you did this for nobody but yourself." Poppy snapped back defending Stella. They didn't think they were doing anything dangerous and Aisha didn't even consult them before she snitched.

"Can we just take 30 seconds, please?" Musa held out her arms as all three glanced at her, "At least, let me get my headphones." Musa walked into her dorm.

"You don't snitch. Everyone over five knows that." Stella told her, "Even Terra knows that." She finished with a condescending smile.

"Hey!" Terra interrupted looking insulted, "I mean yeah. But hey!" Terra kept on switching between being insulted which made Poppy rub her temples.

"There are Burned Ones outside the Barrier. Bloom is being selfish. The last thing Miss Dowling needs is to be worried about Rosalind." Aisha defended but all Poppy saw was excuses, you don't betray your best friend.

"That wasn't your decision to make." Poppy glared standing next to Stella.

NOTE - going into the final episode of season 1 now! thank you to everyone who has stuck by this book the past week as i've updated it! I think this is finishing this weekend! its taken me a week to write this story and holy god my teachers are mad at me.

Also this was a pain to write since putting Poppy in was kinda hard and there weren't any personal scenes.

also I do love Poppy and Stella as friends. PLEASE comment if you find typos or mistakes I dont mind and when I go back to edit this book they'll be so helpful.
