Demi's POV
"So when are we going to tell our families?" Jesse asks me in the break room at the hospital. We both worked a late shift tonight so we will go home together.
"I don't know." I mumble as I reach over and take a piece of his muffin.
"Baby, you're four months pregnant. They need to know." He says and I sigh heavily as I rest my head on my hand.
"I know. Let's just wait until we at least know the gender." I finally say.
"So we can possibly tell them this weekend?" He asks with a smile and I crack a small smile at how excited he is.
"If we find out the gender on Thursday, then yes." I agree and he smiles even bigger.
"What do you think it is?" He asks me and I shrug. I honestly haven't even thought about it.
"I don't even know to be honest. What do you think?" I ask him and he smiles and brings his hand to my stomach under the table.
"A girl. You know I love Bella, but I've always wanted a daddy's little girl. You know?" He says and I nod.
"Mmhmm. I think Bella wants it to be a girl too. I guess we will see then." I reply and he nods.
"You know, I can probably find out for ourselves. I know how to work the ultrasound machine and everything." He says and I roll my eyes playfully.
"I know you can. You tell me all the time." I say and he chuckles and shrugs.
"So can I try and look?" He asks and I sigh. I really do want to find out and his offer is really tempting.
"We're both on the clock right now." I say and he shrugs.
"Then we can look when we get off. We won't get in trouble." He says smiling and I take a deep breath.
"Fine." I agree and he smiles bigger and leans over to kiss me making me giggle. Just then, his watch starts beeping so we know our break is over. We stand up and then we both get back to work doing our own things. A few hours later, we were both off and Jesse didn't waste any time in coming to find me by the reception desk then leading me to a room on the maternity floor.
"You excited or what?" I ask once we make it into a room and he nods as he starts getting the machine ready.
"Yeah. I want to see if we're having a son or daughter." He says and I smile as I lay down on the bed and I pull my shirt up. He squirts the gel on my stomach and then he turns on the machine before turning it so we can both see. Soon, our little baby pops up and we both smile big.
"They got so big since last month." I say as Jesse moves the doppler around my lower stomach so we can look at our baby in every angle.
"It looks like an actual baby now." He says and I nod. He then flips a switch so we can hear the steady and loud thumping of our baby's heartbeat. "I do this a lot, but when it's your baby it's such a different feeling that comes over you. I still can't believe we are having one." He then says and I nod agreeing with him.
"Can you see if it's a girl or boy?" I ask him as he turns the switch off and starts looking closer. He moves the doppler around until we can see the legs and he smiles big and turns to look at me with the most excited expression ever. "What? Did you see it?" I ask and he nods before turning to face the screen again.
"It's a girl." He whispers as he points to the screen and I smile big with tears in my eyes. We're having a daughter.
"Really? Are you sure?" I ask and he nods.
"Positive. I do this a lot baby and I don't see any boy parts." He says and I chuckle softly as a tear falls down my cheek.
"We're having a girl." I say and he nods excitedly as he bends down to kiss me and I smile big against his lips.
"I love you." He mumbles as we pull away and he wipes away a couple tears that fell down my cheeks.
"I love you too baby." I reply and he smiles and pecks my lips a few more times before we fully pull away and we continue looking at our baby girl for about twenty more minutes just enjoying this moment.
"She moves a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if you feel fluttering soon and then she starts kicking." He says and I smile big.
"I felt Bella moving at like eighteen weeks I think." I say and he nods.
"Probably will be the same for this one too." He replies and I smile excitedly. Soon, we decided to leave since it was late and we were both exhausted. The next night, Jesse and I told Bella that the baby was a girl when we were eating dinner and she was actually excited. I was happy that she was getting excited about this baby because I already know she's going to be an amazing sister. It's now the next weekend and we are heading to Jesse's parents house now. Bella is coming also because his parents wanted to meet her and I wanted her to be involved when we tell them that I'm pregnant.
"I'm so happy that you came today Isabella. You are so beautiful just like your mother." Johanna says after we all sit down in the living room.
"Thank you!" Bella replies and I smile.
"So what was with the sudden get together? Not that I don't love having you all here, but it seemed to be important on the phone?" Johanna then asks giving us all a look and I smile as I turn to look over at Jesse who has a shit eating grin on his face right now.
"Why don't you tell them Bella?" I ask her and she looks at me quickly and I nod with a smile. She smiles back before glancing at Jesse as he grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers.
"What's going on?" Regi asks.
"I'm gonna have a little sister." Bella says and Johanna gasps and covers her mouth with her hand and Regi seems speechless but also happy.
"Are you serious?" Johanna asks and we all nod. She smiles big and stands up quickly just as Jesse and I stand up and she wraps her arms around me in a tight hug. Not too tight to hurt me or the baby though. "Oh my goodness. I am so excited. You said it's a girl?" She asks as we pull away and I nod with a large smile.
"Jesse was impatient and looked for us at the hospital a few nights ago." I say and she chuckles as we both glance over at Jesse who has the proudest smile on his face.
"You're going to be busy son. Three girls under one roof. Good luck." Regi says grabbing his shoulder and we all laugh.
"I think I can hold my own." He replies glancing at me and then Bella and I smile even bigger as I grab his hand in mine.
"Are you excited Bella?" Johanna asks after we all sat down again.
"Not gonna lie, I was kinda mad when I first found out, but I'm fine now. I'm actually kinda excited to teach her things and stuff." Bella replies and I smile at her as I lean back into Jesse's arms and place one hand on his thigh.
"She will have the best older sister." Jesse speaks up and she turns and smiles at him. I never imagined that this would be my life right now. My daughter getting along with Jesse. Me and Jesse having a baby. Getting married. I'm so in love with my life. We stayed at his parents house for dinner and then Jesse ended up getting paged into the hospital so he quickly drove us home before heading to work. He was there pretty late, because I fell asleep before he even got home. I did feel him slip into the bed and wrap his arms around me at one point but I was too tired to even acknowledge his presence or what time it was. The next day, we decided to meet my parents and Maddie for lunch to tell them about the baby. Dallas was busy and I was kind of glad she was. I didn't really want to deal with her today, especially in public.
"Babe, you look fine." I hear Jesse say as he walks into our closet and I sigh heavily.
"I look fat." I reply pouting as I turn to face him and he chuckles which just annoys me more.
"Seriously?" He asks stuffing his hands into his jean pockets and I sigh heavily before turning the other way.
"I'm getting stretch marks and my thighs are getting bigger. I didn't get them this bad when I was pregnant with Bella." I mumble as I fumble with the end of my shirt.
"And that means nothing to me. Actually, I take that back. It means everything to me because that is the cause of you bringing our daughter into this world. You are so gorgeous my love." He says and I let the ends of my lips twitch up slightly from the pet name. He knows how much I love being called that.
"I just feel like a whale next to you when you could literally have any woman you want. Don't act like I don't see or hear all the nurses flirting with you. Or how random women look at you as if they want to fuck you when we're together." I say finally turning to face him again as tears threaten to fall. He walks up to me quickly and places a hand on either side of my face.
"But I don't want any of those women. I want you. You are everything I ever wanted and that's not because of how sexy and beautiful you are. It's because you're the best mother and you're so caring. You love so much which is what made me fall in love with you." He says and I smile as he wipes away a single fallen tear before kissing my forehead and then my lips. "I love you. So much." He whispers as we pull away.
"I love you too." I reply softly and he smiles before bending down to kiss me again.
"Are you okay now?" He asks once we eventually pull away and I take a deep breath and nod.
"Yeah. There's nothing I can do about it anyways. Thanks for making me feel better." I reply and he smiles.
"There is something you can do. You can accept and be grateful for what the amazing things your body can do. I understand you not being the happiest with how you look. I couldn't imagine my body changing like that, but just know that I still think you are so beautiful and I am so lucky to call you mine." He says and I smile big. I've never thought about it like that. We eventually left the house when I had calmed down from my mini breakdown and we headed to a small little Mexican restaurant since I had been craving enchiladas. Random, I know. We got there before my parents and Maddie so we just went back to the table to wait for them.
"So how do you think they're going to react when we tell them?" I ask Bella as I grab a chip out of the bowl and dip it in some guacamole.
"I think Grandma and Aunt Maddie will be happy." She answers and I nod.
"And Grandpa?" I ask her and she shrugs.
"No idea. He's so unpredictable." She says and we both chuckle. "Anyways, have you guys talked about names?" She then asks and I shake my head.
"Not really. I mean I have some in my head that I like." I say looking over at Jesse and he smiles and squeezes my thigh lightly.
"What are they?" He asks and I smile shaking my head.
"I wanna hear them too. Come on mom." Bella says and I chuckle.
"I like Charlotte and Aria." I decide to answer and they both smile big.
"Those are cute!" Bella says and I smile.
"Yeah, those are cute baby." Jesse then says and I smile over at him.
"What are your favorites? I know you have some, cause I saw a baby name website on your phone the other day." I ask him and I see him blush lightly as he looks down knowing he just got caught. I thought it was cute that he was looking at baby names though.
"I saw Liliana and Aaliyah. I like Sophia too, but I know that's one of your friends names." He answers and I smile bigger at the names.
"Yeah, let's not name her Sophia." Bella says and I turn to see her looking annoyed and I furrow my brows.
"Why? Did something happen between you two?" I ask her and she huffs and rolls her eyes.
"We are officially not friends anymore." She says and now I'm even more concerned.
"What happened?" I ask worriedly.
"She tried to get with Jack and was flirting with him the other day at school. Last night, he sent me screenshots of messages that she sent him saying all these false things about me to get him to breakup with me. I hate her." She says and even I'm pissed. That is a low blow and I would be just as upset as she is if someone did that to me. I wasn't able to respond though, because I saw my parents and Maddie walking over. We all greeted them and then a waitress came over to take our orders since we had already ordered drinks for them.
"So, why'd you call us to have lunch with you?" My mom asks as soon as the waitress leaves and I chuckle at the look she's giving me.
"Am I not allowed to have lunch with my favorite people?" I ask and she raises her brows. "Fine. We have something to tell you guys." I then say.
"What is it?" Maddie asks and I smile as I place my hand on top of Jesse's that is still placed on my thigh.
"I'm pregnant." I eventually mutter out. I see a large smile spread across Maddie's face and the shock on my parents.
"Well that was the last thing I was expecting." My mom says. "I was expecting this to be some wedding talk." She then says and I chuckle still nervous.
"That can be our next lunch discussion." Jesse says and I smile.
"Well that explains why you were always complaining about how tired you've been." My mom says and I nod. "How far along are you?" She then asks with a smile and I let out a breath of relief.
"Sixteen weeks. Jesse was impatient so he did an ultrasound on me earlier in the week and it's a girl." I say and she smiles bigger and I see tears in her eyes.
"I'm so happy for you guys. I'm just in shock still." She says dabbing at her eyes and I smile.
"Dad?" I ask looking over at him to see that same shocked and disbelief expression that he had fifteen years ago when I sobbed to my parents that I was pregnant.
"I am shocked, but you guys make a beautiful family. I'm happy for you baby girl." He says and I smile bigger as I look over at Jesse who has the same giant smile on his face.
