CALYPSO
Calypso felt the wind whistle through her hair as she and Leo flew through the cloudless night.
The air was getting increasingly colder as they flew north, and a light snow had started to fall.
Leo glanced back at Calypso, and grinned. "We'll be setting down in a minute sunshine, Festus said there is a machine shop right ahead so we can make more permanent repairs."
Calypso smiled back through her chattering teeth, and replied "Ok, but as soon as we set down you need to tell me WHY we are going to Quebec and what's with the rush!"
Leo's smile vanished, and he said, "Yeah, I'll explain."
Calypso was worried about him. Even though he claimed to be fine, she could tell his head still hurt, and she wanted to know why they were going to Quebec before they went to his home, Camp Half-Blood. Also, something he said when he landed on Ogygia bothered him. He had said he had died, yet here he was, very much alive.
Festus creaked and whired as he began to descend. As they neared the ground, Calypso could see a big factory, and there were lights on. Festus landed outside, and again his leg buckled and threw Calypso and Leo off.
Calypso landed with a thud in the snow, and immediately brushed the cold powder off.
She looked for Leo, only to see him stuck face first in a huge snow drift, and he was furiously struggling to get out.
Calypso snorted, but before she could go over and help him out, he started to glow with heat and all the snow melted.
He sat up with a smirk, and said, "Ha! That's what happens to snow in Texas,"
He looked around, as if expecting people to laugh, but then seemed to remember that only Calypso was there.
He quickly stood up and brushed himself off and muttered to Calypso, "Sorry, long story."
He turned and held open the door of the garage open for Calypso. "After you."
Calypso entered the shop, and saw a figure slumped over the front desk.
She walked over, with Leo right behind her. She stopped at the desk, and realized the figure was a teenager, and he was leaning over the counter, fast asleep.
She glanced at Leo, who had a devilish grin on his face.
She instantly felt sorry for the sleeping boy, even more so when Leo pulled an air horn from his tool belt.
He motioned for Calypso to cover her ears, and, after putting ear plugs in his own ears, blew the horn.
As the deafening horn rang through the building, the teen flew up, with a wild look in his eyes.
He flailed his arms, and, loosing his balance, his stool tipped backwards. He landed with an audible thud, and Calypso winced.
She glared at Leo, and asked, "Was that really necessary?"
Leo gave her a cheeky grin, and said, "Of course it wasn't. Let's check if he's alive."
He walked around the counter. Calypso, grumbling to herself, followed.
She found Leo helping up the unfortunate boy, and up close, Calypso guessed he was about 18 or 19.
He was rubbing his ear, glaring resentfully at Leo who was giving him a smile.
The boy glared some more, expecting Leo to back down and apologize, but Leo kept giving him the cheeky grin he was famous for.
When it became clear Leo was unrepentant, the boy sighed and said, "Welcome to the self serve garage. Everything machine related is to your right. You can pay when you're finished."
Leo grinned and said "Great! We'll just be to the right then. And a tip from Commander Tool Belt: Don't fall asleep on the job, it will probably get you killed. Literally."
Leo and Calypso headed to the right, leaving behind a very confused employee.
They found a huge garage with multiple garage doors leading to the outside.
Leo ran over to the closest one and yanked it open, revealing a snowstorm outside. He brought in Festus, and immediately slammed the door shut. "Well then," Leo rubbed his hands "Let's get to work."
Calypso and Leo fell together side by side, working in perfect unison.
As they settled in to a steady rhythm, Calypso started talking. "So, Leo, care to explain why we are going to Quebec? And why so quickly?"
Leo ducked underneath Festus to work on his underbelly. "I had a dream while I was unconscious."
He explained his dream, and as Calypso listened, she slipped under the dragon with Leo to help weave the wires.
As Leo's dream went on, she became more and more horrified. Leo had told her about his past quest and the voyage to Greece, but Calypso couldn't believe how horrible Khione was being.
When Leo finished his story, she said, "For once, Leo, you are absolutely right we need to rescue her. But THIS time, we need to have an actually well thought out, clever, acutally has a chance of working plan. Agreed?"
Leo nodded, an Calypso swore she could hear him grin.
They worked side by side for a while in silence, but something started bothering Calypso again.
"Leo, when you picked me up on Ogygia, you said something weird. You said you were dead. How is that possible? You are clearly alive."
Leo climbed out from under the dragon, and closing the circuit panel they had been working on, set his hands on fire and started working on Festus' broken leg.
He looked at Calypso, and said "On the way to Greece, me and the seven collected the ingredients for a medicine called the physicans cure. We found out that one of us had to die to defeat Gaea, and that one was me, although the others didn't realize it. So I made a plan with Frank and Hazel, and they helped me get the physicians cure. I blew up Gaea in a huge explosion, but I died in the fire too. BUT, as soon as Festus found Ogygia, he gave me the physicians cure, so now I'm alive! The only thing besides the whole mess with Khione is, I don't know how long I was gone."
Calypso listened to the story, and as soon as he finished she ran out of the garage. She found the tired employee, and asked, "What's the date sir?" The boy looked at her strangely, but he told her, "It's the 29th."
"Of which month?" Calypso questioned.
"It's January."
"Ok, thank you." Calypso marched back to the garage, leaving behind a very confused teenager.
She saw Leo leaning against Festus, his hands sill smoking. As soon as he saw her, he asked, "What was that about? Did the sheer awesomeness of me and my sacrifice scare you off?"
Calypso rolled her eyes and laughed, "I was getting the date stupid! It's the 29th"
Leo cut her off. "Only three weeks? Good, maybe Piper won't kill me so bad!"
Calypso had to inturupted him. "Leo, it's not August anymore. It's January."
Leo's face whitened. He winced and said, "Well I am officially dead. Again."
Calypso laughed and said, "I'm sure Piper won't actually hurt you, especially seeing you are riding to her rescue."
Leo perked up. "Hey, that's true! Let's hurry up and get this dragon fixed!"
For the rest of the night, Calypso and Leo worked tirelessly to get Festus back into perfect shape.
As the sun rose the next morning, they formulated a plan to rescue Piper.
Finally, they took off on Festus, and as soon as Leo set him on auto pilot heading for Qubec, they both fell into a dreamless exhausted sleep.
