sunwoo can't believe it. he's holding his crush's hand. and he's taking him somewhere. his hand is so soft like he's never done any house chore before. i mean, what do you expect? he is a rich man's son.
sunwoo then realised something. he doesn't know anything about him. despite being his biggest crush, younghoon is still a stranger to him. the few things he knows about him are his name is kim younghoon, he is the son of the president of one the biggest companies in south korea, he plays basketball, he's kind to people, he has two bestfriends, his height is 183 cm, and his birthday is in the 8th of august. and he learned something new, younghoon likes guys.
i guess that's not really few. but still, those are not enough to know him fully. sunwoo basically knows younghoon like a celebrity. he snapped out of it when he stepped into a small rock almost making him trip. younghoon didn't notice it though.
sunwoo looked around and they're still running. they're currently in the woods right now. running, weaving through the trees. the ground was slightly sloped upwards like they're going up a highland. sunwoo is a bit creeped out by this. he wants to question younghoon where are they going and why did he take sunwoo with him. didn't he just confess his love for him? isn't the outcome supposed to be either accept or reject? not grab his hand and take him to the woods?
it's been a about five minutes they took a few breaks since sunwoo is not really as athletic and fit as younghoon. and it looks like they're not going anywhere. sunwoo's mind is making up scenario on how is this going to play out. is younghoon going to sacrifice him to his cult? oh, no. or younghoon's going to trap him somewhere and rape him? well, it wouldn't really be rape since sunwoo would be willing. he is starting to get worried. younghoon then turned to him.
"i know you're probably creeped out, but i promise, we're almost there." he said with a reassuing smile then turned his head back forward.
sunwoo felt like a huge amount of weight had been lifted off his chest, he still doesn't know what's gonna happen. then younghoon stopped his tracks and the younger followed suit. they came across an old, tall wall. there is a huge hole in front of them with thick vines going through it, making almost like a curtain that blocks the view of the other side. sunwoo thought it looked like it belongs to some fairy tale or some shit.
"we're here." sunwoo cocked a brow. he can hear some noises coming from the other side of the wall. sounds like very faint city noises. sounds of cars, people, and anything you can hear from a city. sunwoo was more confused than before. didn't younghoon take him to the woods?
"just go through the vines." the taller said with a smile. his tone sounds like he's excited.
"okay." sunwoo ran his hand through the vines and walked through. he smiled back and entered with younghoon tailing behind him.
the two boys went through the hole and he feels like they just got through some portal or something.
he can see the city from above. but not so above like bird's eye view but high enough to see the tops of the small establishments of the city. they are on top of a hill. a small hill but high enough to see the full view infront of them. sunwoo was bewildered at the view. not by the city itself but because this is the side of the city he's never been before. he can see familiar buildings from afar but never seen the ones close to them.
and even though it's just the city, the view was still breathtaking.
the first thing that left his mouth was;
"woah." sunwoo just can't help it. he was in awe by the view. he didn't realize that his mouth stayed agape until younghoon closed sunwoo's jaw. sunwoo blushed at the older's action.
'shit, he touched my face.'
"do you like it?" the taller asked grinning.
"uh... yes." the latter replied. both the boys were just looking at the city with different vibes coming off of them. younghoon was admiring the view itself and embracing the mild cool wind hitting against him. while sunwoo did same thing, just a lot more awkward because he doesn't know what to do at the moment.
"let's go on a date!" younghoon beamed.
"a date?!" sunwoo thought. his face expression looked questionable. he can't believe what he just heard. like he's going on a date with younghoon? the younghoon?!
crazy.
"i'm sorry it looked like i was abducting you." sunwoo snapped out of little daydream sequence. and paid attention to what younghoon was saying.
"i know you like me and all but i don't know if you, or anyone really, will follow me if i told them we're going through that creepy ass shortcut." younghoon continued trying to reason.
"i'll follow you anywhere." was sunwoo's first thought. then cringed cause that's creepy.
"ahahah, it's okay." sunwoo said awkwardly while chuckling and his right hand scratching the back of his head.
"cute." younghoon mumbled.
"what was that?" sunwoo heard it clearly but decided to ignore it. younghoon cleared his throat.
"um, are you in for it? the date?" sunwoo's cheeks turned red as a tomato from the thought of him and younghoon going on a date.
everything about this situation has been surreal to sunwoo. like is this a dream? he never even once thought that he would ask younghoon out on a date, let alone younghoon doing it.
"uh, sure. i mean i confessed to you so is really a question?" younghoon smiled at sunwoo's answer.
"okay then. follow me."
sunwoo followed him as told and they are now going down the hill. he still doesn't know where they are going. honestly there are a lot of questions about this whole ordeal of events. he decided to not question anything for now as it is hurting his brain. he's just gonna let things happen and see the outcome of it.
a few minutes have passed and they're already entering the city. they were silent the whole time they're walking so younghoon decided to break it.
"i'm sorry if this is boring to you. i've never really taken anyone to a date before." sunwoo just looked at him without saying anything then looked away. younghoon took that as a sign that sunwoo's fine with it. silence tooke over them once again.
"by the way, where are we going? i've also never been to a date before." sunwoo blurted.
"well, nice timing. we're here."
they stopped infront of a diner. a regular looking one.
"here we are. this diner is my favorite place to eat when the boys are not available. the food here is really good. i'll pay don't worry. " younghoon walked in and signaled sunwoo to do the same.
once they entered, sunwoo immediately noticed the inside looks a lot better than the outside. it's very preppy. like it's really just for serving teens and young adults.
one of the servers who looked to be a middle age woman stood up and walked to younghoon.
"oh, younghoonie! you're here! did your friends ditched you again?" the woman greeted and then ruffled younghoon's hair, barely reaching his head.
"i swear you're getting taller and taller everytime you come here!"
"well you certainly look more gorgeous everytime i come here, mrs lee." younghoon fired back. the two both laughed at their statements.
"they seem really close." sunwoo thought. then looked around from where he's standing. since the two seemed like they didn't see each other for a long time so they're catching up.
mrs lee then looked behind younghoon noticing the other boy's presence.
"oh, hoonie, who's you're friend? never saw him before." sunwoo directed his gaze to the woman now that he's mentioned. he smiled awkwardly as the two are looking at him.
"mrs lee, this is sunwoo. he's my date." younghoon came up to sunwoo's side and put his arms around the younger boy's shoulders. sunwoo definitely blushed at the older's action. but he's thankful it wasn't that noticeable.
"ooh~ our little younghoonie is growing up fast! you even brought a date to my diner!" the woman teased cheerfully. clearly happy for the boy.
"anyway, i shouldn't bother you two anymore. let me take you to your seat." the woman then led them to a table close to the corner and gave them the menu.
the two sat on their seat and sunwoo began going through the list of food.
"i'll come back here in a few minutes to fetch your orders." mrs lee then walked away.
"isn't she lovely?" younghoon asked with a smile on his face. he's clearly happy to see the woman.
to that sunwoo nodded to agree.
"her name is mrs lee. she's the ex-wife of my uncle and then she got remarried to a much much better man." sunwoo was now focused on younghoon.
"she's also kinda like my mother you know. she's a much better parent to me than my parents will ever be." younghoon looked down on his lap after his statement.
sunwoo frowned. the thought of younghoon having bad parents is wild to sunwoo. the older is always friendly and caring to others, something you pick up from good parents. he felt bad for younghoon.
"dang, your family must suck." sunwoo blurted. he immediately regretted saying it since he thought he might offend younghoon.
"yes, they do suck. i hate all of them. like my dad would get mad at me if i got a grade lower than A. forces me to go be a businessman like him when i get older. wants me to be not friends with juyeon and jae because they're not filthy rich like us. and he even wants me to marry someone's daughter for more power." younghoon ranted. sunwoo was about to say something about comforting the older but younghoon spoke again.
"and my mom was never there for me since she divorced my dad when i was 7. and basically doesn't even acknowledge me as her son when she got her own family. and don't even get me started about my uncles those assholes are something else-" younghoon continued. not even letting the younger speak so sunwoo just listened to him.
younghoon then realized that he's speaking too much about his life to a boy he just met. and he completely forgot about their orders as mrs lee came to get their orders.
"uh, i'll get the number one with an extra large drink." younghoon ordered.
"i'll get the same thing as him." sunwoo also ordered even though he doesn't even know what number one is.
with that, mrs lee walked away once again to make their food.
there was brief silence when the woman left. younghoon spoke.
"i'm sorry for trauma dumping. when i should've told you the positive things about me first. hehe." younghoon said with a frown.
"oh, that's just fine. you know, you're very popular, so i kinda know the basics about you. i feel special now that you trusted me with those information. i'll listen anytime. also i've never seen you not cheerful and bubbly before. it's unusual but it's cute." sunwoo reassured younghoon that it's really okay.
younghoon smiled.
"i like you." younghoon said unconsciously. it caught sunwoo off-guard and choked on his own spit and started coughing.
"wh-what?"
"i-i don't mean it like that!... yet." younghoon said shyly. he sucks at this.
"oh, okay." sunwoo blushes at the 'yet' part.
"well, sunwoo, you know, um." younghoon started.
"how about you tell me things about yourself? it's your turn." younghoon chucked at his own words. sunwoo blushed for the 1000th time this day at that statement.
"younghoon wants to know things about me." sunwoo thought giggling in his mind.
"well, duh. you're on a date you dumbass." he rebutted his own thought.
this is gonna be a good day.
to be continued.
