„Curse on the first-born? What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" Rebekah asked. We were in front of the house stacking wood into a huge bonfire.
„Does that mean if I would be having a child, that child would fallen into a curse set by mother's sister." I said when all of them looked at me, „I mean that could happen to me right, since Nik has a child and like him I'm half werwolf."
„Well, I guess, but according to Finn, our sister Freya didn't die of the plague. She was taken as a payment by Dahlia, who then cursed all Mikaelson first-borns for eternity." Klaus then continues saying. Hayley went up to us and asked, „Is any of this true?"
„It is if we are to believe Finn, who leaned it from the bastion of truth ... our mother." He said.
„Well, no wonder Finn hates us. He lost the sister he adored, and instead got a judgy pack of siblings who found him unbearably dull." Rebekah said making me laugh. When Rebekah rolled her eyes and told Hayley a story. „Blair is a gift, mother always said that-" when Hayley interrupted by asking why, when I picked up on the story and told her, „Mikael adored Freya and when she died which we all believed in, Mikael was devastated and he turned cold towards his own children. Apparently-" when Niklaus interrupted me by saying and continuing the story saying, „Not apparently, it's the truth. When Blair was born, he immediately fell in love with her saying over and over again how much she looked like Freya. I mean we never met Freya so we can't judge if it's true or not. Anyway, because Mikael loved Blair so much, Finn tried to be the best brother to Blair. Because before we were born Finn and Freya were unbreakable. Well, Blair's favorite was Elijah. Which is kind of ironic 'cause I should be your favorite."
„I never had a favorite sibling." I then stated when Rebekah rolled her eyes and said, „Come on, we all had our favorite. Mine was Niklaus, Elijahs was Blair and Niklaus was Henrik." making us all laugh, when Rebekah said, „But now it's us against the world."
„Great. So, is there any chance of us running into your loony aunt Dahlia any time soon?" Hayley then asked when Elijah shook his head saying, „The fable's over a thousand years old. Dahlia is long dead."
„Right, like Esther." Hayley said sarcastically.
„No one's going to hurt Hope, because no one's going to find her." Niklaus then said. He then looked around when he then said, „There is enough wood, Rebekah. You'll burn down the whole bloody state of Arkansas." Rebekah rubbed her hands together excitedly when she quickly vampire speeded into the house. When she came back she had some pieces of paper with her.
„Well, we're just missing a key ingredient." She then said showing us the pieces of paper.
„No, we're not." Niklaus said.
„Yes, we are Nik! Back me up Elijah." Rebekah then said when I looked confused into the group.
He laughed and said, „I suspect Niklaus would rather choke on the ashes."
„What are they talking about?" Hayley asked and looked at me when I said, „Don't look at me."
„Well, before we light it, we write down our wishes for each other to burn for luck! It was Kol's favorite part when we were kids." Rebekah then said.
„Oh my god, how I could I forget." I then said taking a piece of paper. Hayley was still carrying Hope when Klaus looked at her and said, „It's further evidence as to why we should ignore it."
„Hope's first bonfire season. I like it. We're doing it!" Hayley then said takes a piece of paper. Rebekah then gave the boys some and we started writing.
I wrote, Family that what I wish for Hope and any further generations of the Mikaelsons. They shouldn't run for who they are, but in-brace it. I want harmony, solidarity and love within us.
I fold the paper in two and put it into my jeans pocket. I sat down on the stairs in front of the house and looked into the sky.
„What are reminiscing about?" I heard Elijah who then sat down next to me.
„I'm just trying to figure out the time when our family broke apart." I told Elijah.
„I believe that are family was broken before we were even born." Elijah then said.
„So when Esther gave Freya away?" I asked and he shook his head, „Even before that."
„But we where so happy when we were kids, right?" I asked.
I looked back at the time when we were younger. We lived in the New World aka Mystic Falls back then Rebekah and I were doing flower crowns while the boys were running around. Kol went up to us and asked, „Let's play hide and seek." Mother heard it and said, „But not far away." We nodded and went to the others when Rebekah said, „Kol, Blair and I want to play hide and seek, wanna join?"
„We are way too old for that." Finn then said and tapped Elijah on the shoulder.
„Yea, way too old." Niklaus the said who stood next to Finn.
„Okay, do you want play with us Henrik?" I asked him and he nodded.
„Okay Blair you are the youngest so you are the first to count to 20." Kol then said and I nodded. I turned around and counted to 20. When I was finish counting Finn went up to me and told me where they were hiding when Rebekah heard him and shouted, „Hey that's unfair."
„Come on Rebekah, hide and seek is boring. I have another idea." He then said.
„Hey Blair you okay?" Elijah asked. I shook my head and turned to him and said, „I said that it's getting late and we should start the bonfire soon."
I stood up and went to the pile of wood when Rebekah came and said, „Hey! Look what I found."
and holds up a Polaroid camera, and the boys groaned. „I wonder if it'll work?" Rebekah asked.
„Oh, bloody-hell." Klaus then said and sighed.
„Come on, let's try it. Hey Nik, do you think you can cram us all into a selfie?" Rebekah then asked when Elijah answered, „Oh, Niklaus is a virtuoso at cramming his siblings into confined spaces." When I chuckled saying, „Yea, Nik come on."
„Well, I'm just glad I traveled hundred of miles to visit my mentally ill brother, only have him insult me to my face." Nik then said.
Rebekah stepped in front of him and gave him the camera when she said, „Come on, just take the picture." Niklaus sighed and holds up the camera to take the picture of us. After we took the picture I took Hope from Hayley while we wait for the picture to develop.
„Aww, see? I wish that it could always be like this." Rebekah then said.
„Me too." I said giving Hope a kiss on the cheek.
„If wishes were horses ...-" Elijah said when Nik interrupted him saying, „Beggars would ride."
He then looked at the picture which was in his hand and said, „You realize we'll have to burn it. You want to make a wish for the family, Rebekah? I wish it didn't have to be like this. But, it does." He handed the photo to Hayley when Klaus said, „We can't risk it falling into the wrong hands."
Hayley and Elijah look at each other, both visibly sad. Hayley takes a good, long look at the picture before throwing it into the bonfire. I then quickly took my piece of paper and threw it into the fire.
„No! This isn't right. We deserve this. We've earned this." Rebekah exclaimed. We all looked at her when she said, „I won't let it slip away. I know what to do to stop Esther."
„Rebekah, no." Elijah said tensely.
„I'm going to to take her deal, And when I do, I'm taking her down with me." She said and I quickly shook my head saying, „No, no, no, no, no."
„I have an idea." I said and gave Hayley Hope saying, „She is hungry." We all went with vampire speed into the house into the living room.
„Esther won't expect me. We think she knows that Rebekah and I are together and tried to disconnect ourselves from her. I will show up and try to convince her that you guys all abandoned me and that I want to be with her. She for sure knows that our family is my biggest weakness, but I will turn this weakness against her. I could be a spy and when I found out have we can kill Esther. I'm gonna stand by your side." I told them when Rebekah shook her head and said, „My idea will work. She will be distracted during the spell. She'll be vulnerable."
„No. If we kill her, she body-jumps." Nik said.
„Then stop her from jumping!" Rebekah said out loud.
„If I knew how to bloody stop her from jumping, don't you think I would have happily murdered her ages ago." Nik said.
„Well, ages ago, you didn't have a harvest girl or a Mikaelson witch. Kol knows all of her tricks." Rebekah said and put her hand on her waist.
Elijah scoffed and said, „Now, you all are insane."
„Hardly, Elijah. It was your idea. You're the one who said she needed a win, and if we get this right, then she'll have one." Rebekah then said.
„Yes, me. We're doing my plan and if that doesn't work we do yours." I said and looked to Rebekah. „Now, the only insane ones are you guys." Niklaus said and shook his head.
„It was a foolish moment, and one that sagely dissuaded me from." Elijah then said.
„Niklaus listen to me, let's do my plan first." I said and looked into his eyes.
„Fine, will do what Blair said and then we will do Rebekah's plan." Niklaus said.
„Will do that and if something happens you run with Hope." I said to Rebekah and she sighed saying, „Fine."
