"So we heard you'll be going home for a few days. How come?" Mark asked the vampire that evening, when they were hidden in the back of the giant library where no one could hear them. Jeno was sitting in front of him, with his back resting by some shelves filled with dusty and old books. Donghyuck was next to him and his head was resting on his friend's shoulder.

"Yeah, I have to do something so they won't think I actually ran away for good." Jeno chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. He showed the two vampire hunters a smile, as if he didn't actually have some dark thoughts wandering his mind. "I...I want to tell you two something." The brunette started and nudged Donghyuck so he would straighten his back and act serious.

"Are we really telling them?" The blonde haired vampire whispered and looked really concerned. It had been three days since both Renjun and Jaemin found out and those two had to know. Besides, there came another problem with the fact that neither of them wanted to harm any vampires in that school. "Jeno you're crazy."

"Took you long enough to realize that." The brunette sighed and looked at both Chenle and Mark, who were waiting for an answer. They both seemed confused, which was understandable. "I became Jaemin's friend." The vampire finally said and sighed loudly. He looked away, at his hands. "For good."

"You have to be kidding me." Mark mumbled and glanced at Donghyuck, who just cleared his throat and avoided his eyes. "And you really think this is okay?"

"You won't understand since you're not a vampire." Donghyuck hissed and his eyes turned golden immediately. "It's like me telling you to stop being friends with Chenle."

"That's different." Mark cracked his knuckles as he said that. "We're both on the same team while you two aren't. What happened to I want to get my revenge on those bastards?" The blonde haired vampire hunter looked away from Donghyuck and grabbed Jeno's wrist, making the blonde vampire hiss at him. "Jeno. You can't be serious. We're already on their territory. The last thing we want now is for them to expose us."

Jeno met his eyes and sighed. He didn't know what to say to be honest. He did want to get his revenge, but in the same time, they were all vampires. If that murder wouldn't have happened in the first place then their dynasties might have been on good terms now.

"Look, I know what you mean." The vampire pushed his hand away and glanced at Chenle, who was still keeping himself silent. "It's the fact that we might change this. It's not his fault some idiot who was once king killed ours. It's not like we can't change our future if we try."

Mark sighed and looked at Chenle. The raven haired vampire hunter seemed deep into his thoughts. His brows were furrowed and his lips were parted and he wasn't looking at any of them.

"Chenle, what do you thing of this?" Mark patted his shoulder, to bring his friend back to reality. When the youngest snapped out of his thoughts and blinked few times, he looked from Mark to the two vampires in front of him. "It's madness right?"

"He has a point in a way." The vampire hunter said, startling his friend with his words because Mark's eyes went wide. "I'm not saying I'm on his side, but he does have a point. Our job here is to find every vampire that is part from the sun dynasty. It's not our job to exterminate them, so we're done here." His eyes met Jeno's. The vampire could see nothing in them, not even one emotion, which made him feel weak. "The higher ups already know who you are, but we will pretend we never heard of your plan."

"What?" Both Jeno and Mark asked and they looked at each other before their eyes went back on Chenle. The pale boy just shrugged his shoulders.

"Let's just see how this will end." The raven haired showed a smile and stood up. "Let's go, dinner will be served soon." He told Mark, whose lips were parted in shock.

"Wait a bit." Jeno also stood up and grabbed Chenle's wrist to stop him. He felt a bit of panic, because he didn't know if that guy meant it or not. He could easily tell mister Jung about it and they'll be done for it. "Why are you so chill about all of this?"

The raven haired male smiled and took his hand off of his wrist. "Do you really think I care who you befriend? You can befriend a ghost if you want for all I care and in the same time, I want to know how this war will end. We're all sick of this, so... Surprise us your highness." Chenle smiled and glanced behind, at Mark. "Let's go."

The blonde haired vampire hunter slightly bumped Donghyuck's shoulder, making the vampire growl softly.

"You're crazy." He whispered to Jeno before following his friend behind, outside of the empty library.

The two vampires waited for them to finally leave that place before Jeno started making his way towards the exit. Donghyuck trailed behind, no words exchanged between them before they left the main building. They could see the two silhouettes of the two vampire hunters approaching the dorm.

"So..." Donghyuck started. "What now?"

"We're going home." Jeno replied and took a deep breath. "I need to do something."

"Do what?" His friend asked, his eyes shining with curiosity, but Jeno didn't want to ruin his mood in that moment.

"Renjun knows. You can ask him later." The vampire noticed how his friend's features changed from excitement to guilt really quickly, which made him sigh. "You should go talk to him. You became his friend after all."

"Easy to say than done." Donghyuck shrugged his shoulders and ran a hand through his hair.

"Come on. I had a conversation with him earlier and he had no problem talking to me."

"Well you didn't become his friend and then betrayed him." The blonde haired mumbled and looked at some random trees. "Anyway, do you think they'll expose us? The two hunters I mean."

"No." Jeno replied and glanced at his friend. "Chenle seemed too interested in this so he won't say a word."

"How can you be so sure?" Donghyuck asked while frowning.

"I just know." The brunette replied and looked away.

They didn't exchange any other words as they approached the staircase and entered the dorm. The nice smell of dinner entered Jeno's nose and a small smile formed his lips as he started approaching the cafeteria.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That night, Jeno couldn't sleep at all. If he would fall asleep, the same creepy dream would come back and would wake him up in a matter of minutes. He would sit up with wide eyes and shivers down his spine.
In his dream, he would be locked in the grey castle. He would stay by the window, hands glued on the cold surface of the glass, leaving his fingertips there, visible to anyone. The sky would also be grey and a lightning would cut it after some minutes. A storm was coming, a big one actually, which made the whole place darker than usual. Some torches were illuminating the rooms and the long corridors with high ceilings.
He would found himself leaving the window and his bedroom that looked nothing like his real bedroom and he would start wandering the dark corridors that were illuminated by torches. He would walk past big paintings that showed either fields with flowers or people that were part of the royal family. Some maids would walk past him and bow when they would see the prince, dressed in black, as if someone had just died.
Jeno would enter a large staircase and go down some floors. It took him at least ten minutes to reach the second floor of the castle. He stopped and looked around. What caught his attention was the blood on the carpet. It wasn't human blood, since its scent wasn't pleasing at all. It actually made him sick.
The brunette started following the trail of red blood. His eyes were glued on the floor while he stepped closer to the person who was most probably, dead. The trail of red liquid that made him sick stopped in front of a pair of closed doors. Jeno opened them by pushing them forward and stepped inside the dark and spacious room. It was his father's study and it was illuminated by candles.
The scent of blood became stronger, which made Jeno feel sicker. Despite the fact that he could see everything inside the room, Jeno couldn't spot the body. Where was it? He suddenly noticed that the trail of blood ended somewhere behind the massive desk, which made him curious. The vampire followed it and surrounded the desk, expecting to see some vampire, but what he actually saw made him freeze on spot.
His eyes went wide and he even fell on the floor when he saw the body. It was a boy he knew too well and it made him almost tear.
It was him, the boy who was dead, covered in blood. He was white as if someone covered him in paint and there was no blood in his body.
This was the point where he would wake up again, feeling cold shivers down his spine while his eyes opened and he sat up again. Jeno ran a hand through his hair and took a deep breath, as silent as he could. What was happening and why was that dream coming back each time he fell asleep?
"Are you having nightmares?" Jaemin's voice made him flinch and when he looked in his left, at his roommate's bed, he saw the vampire looking at him. "This is the sixth time you're waking up like this."
"Sorry." Jeno mumbled and pulled the blanket over his chest. "Why are you awake though?"
"I couldn't sleep either." Jaemin replied and the brunette heard him shift in his bed. "So did you have nightmares?"
"No. Just a creepy dream."
"You dreamt the same thing for six times?" Jaemin seemed surprised. Jeno glanced at him and saw that the raven haired left his bed and was standing by the window. He opened it and allowed the fresh air enter the room. "What was the dream about?"
"I died."
Jaemin chuckled and turned around. "You died? That's all?"
"I was covered in my own blood in my own house." Jeno sat up and stared at his pale and handsome face. "Someone killed me."
"It's just a dream." Jaemin sighed and ruffled his hair.
"I dreamt the same thing for six times. It's creepy as fuck."
"Don't tell me you're scared." The vampire closed the window and approached Jeno's bed. A smirk was forming his lips when he sat down next to him. "How can you be scared of a dream? You surprise me more and more. You can kill someone without feeling sadness or anything but you're afraid of a dream in which you died. It makes no sense."
Jeno rolled his eyes and pulled the blanket over his head after he turned his back to Jaemin who just scoffed.
"Just go to sleep and stop bothering me." The brunette mumbled and waited to hear Jaemin sigh or something then stand up, but the vampire didn't move. "Jaemin go to sleep." Jeno hissed after a while and pulled the blanket and glanced behind. "What are you doing?" He asked when he saw his roommate playing with a bracelet. "Go to sleep."
"You know, dreaming about the same thing for six times means it's a sign." Their eyes met when Jaemin looked at him.
"You're not helping." Jeno sighed and started thinking of his dream. He was sure he was the one who was dead in his dad's study, but the question was who killed him?
"But it might also mean you're scared o something. Maybe it's because you're going home and that's the last place you want to be."
"My parents would never kill me for running away." Jeno told him.
"I never said they were the ones who killed you."
"You know what? Let's just go back to sleep." The brunette suggested and was about to pull the covers back when Jaemin grabbed his wrist. "What now?"
"Can I sleep with you?" His roommate's question made the young vampire flinch. "Please? I'll be on this side so don't worry. I just need to know someone's next to me."
"Why?" Jeno asked, suddenly feeling curious.
"I'll tell you in the morning if you let me sleep with you." Jaemin said and blinked with innocence. What was his matter all of a sudden? "Please." The brunette had to think for a while, but in the end, Jaemin's big and shiny eyes made him nod. "Thank you." The raven haired stood up and took his pillow. He then placed it next to Jeno's and laid down next to the vampire. "Good night."
"Just don't forget to stay on your side." The brunette mumbled before turning his back to Jaemin. "Good night." He whispered after a while, most probably thinking his new friend was asleep.
Jeno was just about to fall asleep after at least ten minutes of just keeping his eyes shut, when he was awake by Jaemin moving around. This was one of the reason he disliked sleeping with others, but because he wanted to be a good friend, he had to let it slide. What he didn't expect was for Jaemin to wrap his arm around his waist and hug him tight as if he was a stuffed toy. The vampire became tense for a few moments and he wanted to move and push him away, but Jaemin's voice made him change his mind.
"Trust me, you won't have nightmares." His soft voice ran in Jeno's ear.
For some reason, the young vampire felt relaxed after hearing his voice. It didn't take too long for the sleep to come back and what surprised him was the fact that his dream didn't come back the whole night and he was able to sleep.
I'm sorry for the slow burn guys. I hope I'm not annoying. I just want to make the plot realistic. :))
