BLUE
The droplets were painting my Tshirt which was now a see through. The strands of my hair slapping my cheeks, the wind drying it with no effect as the rain poured harder. My legs were moving but to which direction I didn't know. My worn out sneakers damp and splashing the mini dams.
"Blue wait!" Amanda called after me but it's as if I couldn't stop my self. I needed to get a taxi to get me to my apartment and that's all that I was thinking of.
"Blue wait" only this time it wasn't Amanda's voice, a much more masculine voice.
But I didn't stop I ran as fast as I could, would you stop if the building you live in was collapsing.
Seconds later my feet were not on the ground anymore, I was in someone else's arms. I felt his hands on my wet skin
"Will you stop!, let's go to my car I will drive you there. It's not safe to walk or run there" he released me and he had taken off his coat only left with his white button up which was wet and it revealed his chest.
"Okay" we ran back and we finally made to his car which was parked on the side of the road. Jordan at the front and Amanda at the back, I joined Amanda on the back. That was only then Brody and I realised we were wet.
"Don't worry these seats are waterproof and anyway it isn't my car, I hired it while I'm here" he assured.
The storm started calming down as I directed him to my apartment. Amanda's hand was sweaty against mine as she was holding it the entire time.
We finally made it, but we were too late and things had gotten worse. It was now on fire, it felt like it was an illusion. I couldn't believe my eyes.
The storm had cleared and the rain had stopped. I stepped out the car and ran to my landlord whose arms where on his head.
"Charles?" I said standing beside him as we watched the building burn down. People were hugging each other, thankful that they were still alive. Parents kissing their kids. The firefighters were trying to put the fire out but even I could see that it was pointless.
"I was making my way to your apartment since you haven't paid rent, I knocked and no one answered and I thought you were trying to avoid me. So I unlocked the door since I have the keys and when I realised you weren't home. I was about to leave when the floor started cracking and I knew what was coming. I saw your purse and books and grabbed them quickly, here you go" my landlord said and handed me my purse which had my ID and passport, I'm thankful that they're safe but what about my clothes?
"I'm sorry Charles, I was going to pay your rent" I could feel the tears on my eyeballs.
"The building was over 100 years, it was going to collapse anyway" he didn't move, he was acting bizarre. Like a zombie or possessed freak.
"Charles are you okay" I placed my hand on his shoulder.
"No, but I'm sorry about your clothes, most people were able to save theirs but yours are gone. Just like my income it's gone" he walked away, his walk was uncomfortable.
Amanda,Brody and Jordan suddenly appeared on my side. Amanda's hands went around my shoulders as she hugged me.
"All of my clothes got burnt, my essentials everything. All he saved was my ID and passport",she released and looked at me.
"I'm sorry, I could take you in but you know I have two other roommates and I didn't even pay rent so I doubt they will agree" she had pity in her eyes.
"It's okay, it's not your fault" I assured her.
"You could come stay with us, we are leaving next week anyway" Brody suddenly said.
"No, I'll see what I can do"
"Being stubborn won't help you, come let's go" he persisted.
"With you two?" I am doubtful staying with two guys doesn't sound well and sit well with me.
"Jordan was supposed to have his own apartment but he's afraid of sleeping alone" Brody smirked
"That's not true, all the hotels were fully booked" Jordan defended.
"Right, Amanda can come stay with us if that will make you more comfy" he pushed his hands in his pockets.
"Oh yes! My roommates were going to chase me out anyway I didn't pay rent" she said as if that made her happy, her honesty can sometimes be a bit too honest.
"I'll be back I'll go fetch my stuff, all of it. We are leaving next week anyway so why not stay with you guys until we leave" she ran to the the building three buildings away from mine.
"Wait?, she lives right next to you? Why didn't her building collapse?" Jordan asked as he unbuttoned his jacket.
"Her building isn't over a 100 years old like mine, they have proper cabling and installation unlike us" I said sarcastically.
He placed his jacket on my shoulders seeing as I was shivering.
"Thank you", it felt warm and the fabric so soft. That's when I realised it was a Louis Vuitton jacket.
"You're welcome" he grinned towards Brody who was rolling his eyes. He must roll his eyes a lot.
"I'm back" Amanda announced as she appeared with two suitcases in her hands.
"That was quick" I said.
"They had already packed them, they were going to chase me out when I came back" she laughed.
"I'll take those", Jordan took the suitcases and loaded them into the bonnet.
We got in the car, and Brody stepped on it. I wouldn't say he's a careful driver. I placed my hand on the window as the building started fading away slowly.
So much has happened in one day, the fact that I'm engaged now still pulses me. I am moving to Los Angeles with Amanda. I am a fake fiancée to an American billionaire.
I noticed the surroundings weren't the same. My eyes landed on the sign "Welcome to Seef Sandton". The houses were elegant and many hotels were around and they looked luxurious from the outside.
He drove inside the huge gates leading inside a tall white building. He parked in a reserved parking area. Two guys came to our sides and opened the doors for us. A young beautiful woman with short bob hair was waiting with a tablet in hand.
"Hi boss I ha-" the woman was cut off. "Buzz of Sarah" Brody rolled his eyes and the woman looked at him bewildered.
"Poor thing" Jordan said taking out the suitcases out of the bonnet. The two guys led us inside, I nearly gasped amazed by the surroundings. White and gold is the theme. Shiny marble floors, fresh flowers on the reception table. Amanda looked as amazed as me.
We entered the elevator, no one said anything until the doors opened. Brody used his card to open the door and when we entered I was confused if this was a house or room.
The shiny white marble floors, white couches, the flat huge TV on the wall, a kitchen to die for with white cabinets that reach the ceiling and marble countertops and stainless steel appliances. I have never seen such a fancy place.
"Wow!" Amanda exclaimed, Jordan giving her a smile that she blushed to. I have to ask her what's that about.
"We're all going to sleep in the same room?" I asked, I definitely do not want to share a bed with Brody, not when he has all those muscles and that perfect sculptured face. I mean it's not like I'm finding him sexy or anything just saying.
"No, there are 2 bedrooms" he rectified.
"I'm definitely not sharing a room with you Brody, you kick people in your sleep" Jordan folded his arms.
"It's not like I wanted to share a room with you either, you snore" Brody said as if he was being attacked.
"Then what does that mean? That I will share a room with Jordan? And Blue with Brody or vice versa" Amanda asked throwing her self on the couch which seemed to annoy Brody.
Me and Brody in one bed? Or me and Jordan in the same bed.
"Uh you and Jordan will have to share, I will share with Blue", Brody said and when he said it, it sent shivers down my spine.
"Can I see the room?" an excited Amanda asked and Jordan nodded with the same excitement. They disappeared in the hallway.
"Are these the only clothes you have" Brody pointed at what I was wearing, I nodded.
"Maybe it was for the best, you clothes look low class. We will get you new clothes, that will convince my mother you are of higher class. And maybe a new look" he said as he disappeared into the hallway to.
Should I take that as an insult? I really haven't taken the time to process what I got myself into.
"Are you coming?" Brody asked, I followed him to the bedroom. The room was dark and masculine. Gray and white the main colours. The bed was three times bigger than my bed.
"You're sleeping on the couch it's pretty comfortable" Brody said taking off his shirt.
I looked over at the couch, today has been such a unpredictable day,it's his place I can't put on any fight.
