I closed the door behind me as I walked over to Pico standing at the end of the driveway. "Okay, I'm ready to go." I said. Though, he wouldn't look at me. I tried to calm myself down once we started walking. 'It was just a stupid dream... it's not real' I told myself. As we walked down the road I couldn't help but sneak a few glances at him. I wanted to thank him, but I guess I can't.
Taking a left off the main road, i saw a building with a sold sign in the front. And Keith and Lily's mom's car parked. Pico gave me a quick glance, but when i looked at him he automatically looked away, furrowing his brows. 'Maybe he just doesn't like physical contact.' I thought.
We didn't even have to come inside to have Lily run out the doors towards us. "Y/n!" She yelled as she practically jumped on me.
"Hi Lily!" I yelled with the same enthusiasm as i hugged back. "Hey, it's only been one night." I laughed.
"I know, but i missed you nonetheless." She giggled, letting me go. After taking a step back from me, she gave Pico a hug as well, which he sort of returned. "Well, what do you think?" She asked us as she pointed to the broken down building.
"Ugh... I bet it will look great." I smiled. She playfully punched my arm as she motioned us inside. I looked around at the brick walls and hardwood floor.
"We haven't figured out where to put anything, not like we know what to put in here yet." Lily spoke while heading over to Keith. Who stood up and wiped his hands on his jeans.
"Morning guys, Pico! How was your night?" Keith nonchalantly signed for Pico to follow him.
"Eh, not horrible. But at least you and Lily got some free time i guess." He shrugged. I looked to Lily.
"Are they okay?" I asked. Lily gave me a reassuring smile. She was about to talk until her father called us over.
"We can talk later." She whispered, as we head on over.
Keith's POV:
I walked Pico to the opposite side of the building. "Dude, are you okay?" I asked worryingly. He gave me a look in return. "You've been acting very... tense lately." I whispered.
"Look, nothing is wrong. Just haven't slept well was all." He groaned. I frowned at him.
"Bullshit. I've known you forever, you don't act this pissed from lack of sleep." I crossed my arms. Pico looked to the ground, his hands turning into fists.
I grabbed his shoulder and he looked up at me slightly. "I'm just... i don't know." He mumbled, backing away from me. Rubbing the back of his neck he thought attentively. "I'm tense around her, and it pisses me off. She's hiding things. From all of us, all i want to do is help. But i don't know how to ask."
I smiled sadly at him. "Is that because you want to be that helper you never had?" He gave me a stern look.
"Hey, all i want to do is be nice, for Lily. That's the best i can do as her friend." I nodded and wrapped an arm around him.
"Whatever you say, hard ass." I chuckled, him just glaring at me. "Let's go help the others, shall we?" I asked, avoiding the subject. He nodded as well, and we walked over to everyone together.
Y/n's POV:
"Yes dad?" Lily piped up as we got over to her parents.
"Hon, we need ideas for the building. We're thinking about a stage, but we're not sure." Her mother answered, her father nodding in agreement.
Giving the building one more thorough look at, i saw Pico backing away from Keith. 'I wonder if their okay...' I thought. Knowing it's none of my business i looked to the mid back of the whole building. "Oh, i have an idea." I interrupted. Having the three of them look to me. "I-if you don't mind?" I asked. Her father motioned me to continue. "Um, hold on." I went over to a small table with some paper and a pen. As they surrounded me i drew as i spoke. "In the back of the room, we can add that stage you wanted, lights surrounding the outer edge and above for more effect on the performers." I looked at them to make sure they were okay with it.
"Okay, um... we can add curtains like a live stage. The brick would act as a good backdrop, also eliminating any extra work." I smiled at my idea. "Also, we can make a good community like thing and have competitors and teachers draw their names on the backdrop with spray paint, for shits and giggles." I stopped to look at her mom and dad, who were smiling wide.
Her Mother got closer and grabbed the paper i was drawing on. Looking at her husband she announced. "Honey, i think we have a plan." Her father nodding proudly. Right afterword's, Pico and Keith walked over.
'This is going to be fun.'
