"Spencer loves you," Ethan realized, looking away from the television and to his dog and I. Spencer, his Aussie heeler and German Shepherd mix, was laying with his little head on my lap, and I was loving on him.
"And I definitely love him." I smiled and rubbed his belly. He let out a content sigh and closed his eyes, and I felt accomplished in the fact that I had just made him fall asleep.
"Spencer is adorable." Seán said as he leaned over the the back of the couch to pet Spencer's fur, but only as he walked by. He walked into the kitchen.
Bob was sitting in a chair, scrolling through his phone and not paying attention to the television. We were watching 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' on Netflix.
"Thank you, all of you, so much. I know I've said this so many times but from the bottom of my heart, thank you." I looked at Ethan and he smiled and nodded.
"Stop thanking me," he wrapped his arms around my shoulders and hugged me. "I'm just helping you achieve your dreams."
