I don't understand. A floating orb tells me that its my ghost, and i have no idea where I am at. As I stumble and try to get my bearings on whats going on, I step out into the sunlight. As it beats down upon my face i can't help but wince and shield my eyes. The sun shines so bright. Its rays are a warmth unlike any other. As I get ready to take my first few steps out into the unknown, my blood turns cold at the sound of an inhuman screech rings into my ears. I step back inside of the cover I was in. I didn't know what it was other than it should keep me hidden from whatever that screech was. Not long after the screech came gunfire. "maybe those are other Guardians! Come on, we need to go and meet up with them."
The little ghost starts to fly towards the entrance, but I grab it before it gets to close. "I'm not going out there are you crazy? what ever the hell that was is probably going to kill them and then look for me." The gunfire was getting closer. Whatever was fighting outside was like nothing i have ever heard. I did just wake up moments ago though. As the gunfire continued, I then heard the sound of lighting and thunder. Strangest thing is that the sky's are still clear as day. Then came a rumble like an earthquake. It was like a rocket had struck in the distance and I could feel the tremors from its impact. As i cower and wait for whatever this is to pass over, someone comes to the entrance and rushes towards me. "We need to get out of here! Follow me." This man whom i have no idea who he is, reaches out his hand towards me. I'm still. I have no idea whats happening and then my ghost tells me to take his hand before its to late. I reach out and grab his hand. its oddly cold. as we turn to leave this place i take a moment to look him over. Gauntlets that seem to be frozen over with ice, he seems to be wearing some type of jacket and the only real armor he seems to be wearing is his helmet and little armor on his legs.
As we leave he puts his rifle on his back and pulls out a side arm. Its design looked ornate and beautiful. He fires off a couple shots and as i turn around I now see the horror that chases after us. creatures that look deprived of food and are looking to devour anything in sight. We move forward and are caught off guard by a massive one of these creatures. As we fly through the air, the mans fun on his back fly's away along with the weapon in his hand. Still clinging to his hand we hit the nearby wall. Laying there on the ground with the horror that marches before us, i already feel this is the end of my life. Just then the man stands and lets go of my hand. He takes a step in front of me and i barely hear him utter "no more. You will take no more..." His body enveloped in flames and a hammer appears in his hand. I remember the cold hand that had reached out to me, and then it was washed away by the warmth of his flames. It was comforting and soothing. The only thing heard was the sound of the screeches of the abominations and a hammer being bashed against bone.
Once the flames settle the man walks back over to me. "are you alright? i'm sorry about that knight. I should have seen him but i was too focused on finding a path to get you to safety."
The mans voice was quiet and calm. He removed his helmet. His black hair reaching to his the top of his shoulders, his eyes blue like the beautiful sky, and a scar right under his left eye that seems to go down his neck. I do not speak and only turn my head away. Just then the little Ghost pops out. "Oh hello Jax! I see you and your fire team are ignoring Zavala's orders again."
At the sound of my Ghost talking I reach for it to try and grab it but it floats away. I feel my face turning red from embarrassment. The man begins to chuckle slightly. Then another Ghost floats from over his shoulder. "I told him, but he still refuses to listen to me on this. Zavala needs you Jax. The least you should do is hear him out." His expression quickly changed from a lighthearted and carefree spirit, to one that is cold and emotionless. "I have nothing to say to him. I don't even want to see his face. He is part of the reason-" He cuts himself off and takes a deep breath.
"Anyway. Lets get you home and outfitted for being out here. As you've seen this is a dangerous place. Especially with the Hive running about." He holds his hand out to me again. I take it almost immediately. the cold I felt early is gone. His hand is warm. Much like the flames that surrounded him. "As my Ghost said, my name is Jax. My Ghosts name is Athena. Whats your name?."
As I take a moment to think I look at the sky once more and give my reply.
"Anna."
