Taylor Holmes sighed as she rummaged her bag, trying to find her timetable amongst the mess. She was untidy, true, but she was at least responsible. That was one thing she was very proud of; apart from her, being the fastest problem solver her friends or family could think of.
She was short, a little over 5ft and a 1/2 inches and was a constant target of the school's bullies, who loved teasing her about her height.
When she could not find her timetable anywhere, she angrily kicked the recycling bin, which had the misfortune of being close to her. She was tired and cranky and still had to attend 3 classes, practice her violin for the upcoming recital, volunteer at the community soup centre and pick Aunt Delancey from the florist's shop.
The bell rung, loudly and clearly, reminding her that her day wasn't going to end so easily. She frowned and swung her bag over her shoulder, watched as the hallway flooded with students from all directions while she moved, or zombie-walked (as she liked to call) towards her class.
Taylor was tired of her life. She wanted adventure and excitement.
Little did she know; her wish was soon to be granted.
