I could feel myself slipping away from Hel's body like the sleep potion was wearing off on me now; everything around me was turning black and voices were muffled and silenced once my eyes closed letting me leave the dreams of her life once more.
I jerked awake, gasping for air once I awoke from the dream; my left hand rested against my stomach; feeling how real the dream was that I lived I feared my child was hurt.
"Arnora, you are safe no need to worry" the voice of Valka came to my ears which made me look towards her kneeling beside my right.
"Sorry, it just felt so real" I said once I took some deep breathes for a moment as she helped me stand up on my feet.
"What did you see?" she asked wanting to know what I saw in the dream.
"So much, I saw so much; felt things that I never did but the last thing I saw was Hel returning to her homeland Jotunheim with Odin and I met her mother and I felt her anger about her brothers towards him; like how I would feel if someone tried killing Eivor" I explained as best as I could trying to piece small things together.
"I see and what else did you feel?" she nodded her head before she asked another question.
"The weird thing is, it felt like I've lived this life before; my heart is telling me this but my mind can't wrap around such an idea" I said as I looked at the ground wondering if I was thinking too much.
"Many things are never clear about the gods end, but maybe something is bringing you closer to your truth" she explained in her riddles that she always speaks about.
"Is there a way to go back?" I asked wanting to know more about Hel.
"There is but I need to gather stronger herbs until then you must need rest and food" she said to me before she placed a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded my head in agreement to her knowing that I needed a break, saying my goodbyes to her I went to the longhouse to get something to drink and eat; finding some cooked meat and some water I sat down and began to eat.
"Arnora" Eivor called out my name which made me look up at him.
"Yes?" I asked as I swallowed my meat.
"Randvi clarified about Gorm being in Vinland; if you wish you can come with me" he said to me as he sat on my right.
"I think I will join, Valka needs a stronger potion to bring me back to Hel's world" I agreed with the plan to go with him and telling him what happened at Valka's.
"Very well, meet me down at the docks when you are ready" Eivor nod his head to me before he stood up and leaving the longhouse to go to the docks.
Finishing up my meal before I walked back to my hut and gathering things I needed along with the medicine Valka gave me for the baby as well; knowing I had everything I walked through the clan and headed down to the docks meeting Eivor who was speaking with a woman about sailing to Vinland.
"What's the plan?" I asked once I stood by his side.
"We must leave our gear and weapons here; so Gorm doesn't notice us since he runs the area we were heading to" he explained as he crossed his arms.
"Very well, how long will it take to get there?" I asked once more wanting to know more.
"Three weeks to there and back again" Eivor said which made me sigh for a moment.
"Alright, shall we get going?" I said before asking if he was ready"
"I am if you are" he said as he uncrossed his arms.
"I am" I smiled a little bit.
Leaving all our gear with the clan we looked like normal people with no experience for war, it felt weird not having my whip and blade with me not to mention my gear it felt like I dropped twenty pounds more; sitting in the long ship next to Eivor's right we began to leave the clan behind and going to Vinland to finish what we should have done years ago.
Arriving in Vinland by sea was interesting, we passed mountains of ice and stone; seeing things no one else has ever seen before it was truly amazing. Coming to the land felt strange almost like how we set out for England before a land filled with mysteries and wonder but we were here to kill Gorm which we should have done back in Norway given the chance.
The ship docked at the rocky shore; letting everyone off, Eivor got down first before turning to me and helping me down from the ship. Walking up to the shores the warm breeze felt nice and welcoming and being on dry land was also welcoming as well; my brother and I talked about a back story for us both so it didn't look weird to show up asking the same questions about finding Gorm.
"You there you look stronger than the other's what's your name?" a woman asked Eivor once she laid eyes on him.
"Jora of Jorvik" he answered and I had to bite my tongue to not laugh.
"Jora? As in horse?" the woman asked with a raised brow.
"My father never wanted children" he answered back which I also had a hard time to not laugh and the words.
"I'm Ginna, Jora's wife" I said before she asked me who I was.
"I see, if she's your wife better keep her close" the woman said before warning Eivor.
"Why is that?" he asked in a bit of confusion.
"If the wild folk don't get to her then Gorm sure will; loves taking young ladies like your wife here" she explained to us. my skin crawled just hearing Gorm's name alone.
"I'll keep that in mind" he said before we both walked away from her to get up to the small outpost behind her.
"That's the best name you came up with?" I chuckled under my breath trying to whisper to him.
"I'm sure you and Sigurd will speak of it many times to me" he said with a smirk knowing I couldn't hold back my laughing any longer.
He chuckled himself since its been a while since I laughed so much, been a bit down since Sigurd was still being held by Fulke only the gods know what is happening to him right now.
"We should look around, make sure to blend in" Eivor said to me as he glanced around the area.
"Alright, tell me if you find anything" I say to him before we went our separate ways to find some information about Gorm.
This journey will surely be a strange one filled with wonder and mysteries; also I think it would be a great tale to tell mine and Sigurd's son one day once he is born and when he is old enough to understand words.
