DOING NOTHING, WITH YOU !

saiki kusuo
"Saiki..." Toritsuka muttered, staring at the other for a moment. Upon hearing his question, Saiki felf himself freeze. 'No... Toritsuka was just messing with him. It had to be.' He convinced himself. "Don't tell me that you've got your psychic abilities back?!" He squealed, shoving himself towards his friend. 'Why do you look so happy?' Saiki grimaced.
"For real?! Is this the resurrection of Saiki the Psychic?!" There we're almost tears escaping his eyes by now. 'Shut up! Shut up! Get lost!' Closing his eyes shut, he now found himself in a new area. It was like he had awoken from a bad dream, as he found himself in the living room of his house.
Now staring out the window to his backyard, Saiki allowed his shoulders to relax. 'I'm... home...' He sputtered out, hand to slap himself gently on the cheek. 'Great. I was just dreaming.' He smiled to himself, eyes closed in rest. "Hey, don't scare me like that." Kuusuke frowned. "I almost spilled my coffee because you teleported here all of a sudden.".
'Kuusuke?! What?!' No resting for Kusuo. "So you really are getting your psychic abilities back." Kuusuke hummed, placing his cup of coffee on the table in front of them. 'No, I was just dreaming.' It was really no use trying to convince himself and his brother at this point. "I told you to get some rest." Kuusuke cooed. 'I did! It wasn't what you think!' Kusuo begged, still on the ground. 'I did not teleport!'.
"Well, it's good that you have your abilities back." Kuusuke began, "Because I want you to do me a favour." To this, Kusuo immediately rejected. This would go all against what Kusuo had wanted in the first place; peace. "I'm currently-" - 'No!'. Kuusuke got the hint. Surprisingly, he smiled a little at the fact. Maybe his little brother was growing, and he deserved to.
"Right... You've already sealed your abilities." Kuusuke restated. 'That's right.' It's the truth Kusuo wanted to believe. 'No more playing hero. I've become an average human being.' Kusuo firmly stated, the hands beside his body, balling up into fists. 'I will live my everyday life peacefully.' He promised himself. "Right." Kuusuke crossed his arms, nodding at his brother. "That was your dream, wasn't it?" He chuckled.
"Well forget about it." Hands behind his head, Kuusuke was now on his way off. "I will try figure out the problem on my own. Alright, I'm going to do my best for your peaceful life." He hummed, by the door. 'The problem?' Kusuo questioned, raising a brow. "That's nothing. I just got a request from the government. It'll be covered on the news soon." He shrugged it off.
Then, the channel that was on Teruhashi's (creepy) brother, and his drama of a detective, had abruptly changed. 'BREAKING NEWS' it displayed, camera crew and the news reporter scrambling on screen to get the news out. "This is a breaking news story!" The man exclaimed, eyes scanning at the papers. The screen transitioned to a bright yellow-red ball, speeding down at earth. "The government just made an announcement, that a gigantic meteorite is heading down to Earth! A warning has been issued to all of Japan.".
Kusuo, for what felt like the tenth time, froze. "I repeat, a gigantic meteorite is heading..." The words faded out in his mind. "They told me to do something about it. Isn't it a very absurd request?" Kuusuke joked, "We only have two hours left." God knows why he was brushing it off so easily like that. "But don't you worry Kusuo. I will try figure it out on my own.".
'But how?' - "Hey Kuusuke." Out came their rather in a robotic suit, clearly too big for him. "Here is our saviour." His head turning to watch over his shoulder, his father was clueless about the situation. "Well... I have to put this on as told. What is this anyway?" Kuniharu questioned with a delighted smile. What he thought was new attention from his 'loving' sons, was just them using him as a puppet.
'You idiot!' - "Yeah, that's perfect. Let's go." Kuusuke directed him to out their house. Kusuo could barely believe his eyes; but we're his brother's actions really all that surprising? 'No way! Wait a minute!' Kusuo stumbled out behind them.
"This is an emergency, but everybody, please stay calm. Please stay inside." The news reporter continued, Kusuo's eyes glued onto their television screen. 'This is impossible. There's nothing I can do about it.' After the volcano incident, he had hoped for a life of pure bliss and coffee jelly. Surely nothing could top the volcano? 'I'm just an average guy.'.
"Is something falling down?" - "It's a meteorite idiot!" - "Is it about the Dark Reunion?" - "Stop joking and evacuate now!" - "Was it a joke?" There, loud and clear, Kusuo had heard his three friends; Nendou, Kaidou and Aren, in class. Kaidou shaking, placed himself under a desk for protection, Nendou clueless, and Aren seeking shelter under a table too.
"This is not good Saiki!" He then heard Toritsuka. "You may not hear me, but please do something!" He begged, sprinting through the crowd of students who were doing the same. Everything was becoming chaos, but there was nothing Saiki could do about it. He was now just a normal student. He had no powers.
"Hey, my crystal didn't show me a thing!" - "I'm dying! I wanna confess my feelings towards Kaidou before I die!", "Everybody, calm down! Remember the fire drill!", "Master! Please get inside the shelter!" - "No! Please take my friends!" - "We have no time!".
"Teruhashi!" - "T-Teruhashi!" - "Goddess Teruhashi!" He now heard her various fans screaming out for the so-called goddess. "Let's get out of here!" - "We'll risk our lives to protect you!" They urged. But there she was, staring out at the window into the sky. 'The meteorite can't kill me because God loves me.' With firm eyes, she glared at the orb, rushing down to hit Earth. 'I will never let that happen. I haven't made Saiki say 'Oh!' yet. Do something, God!' Truly an honourable deed.
Though, the small mention of 'God', had popped something in Saiki's brain. He couldn't put a finger on it, but it had felt like everything finally clicked for once. 'I can't play God.' He started, smiling to himself. Walking over to his desk, now in his room, his hands had gently hovered over his green-lensed glasses. 'But I'll damn be close to it.'.
"No, no, no! I can't!" Kuniharu cried out, resisting against Kuusuke. "It'll be alright." The boy laughed, pushing him away from the house. A crashing sound came, grabbing the attention of the two. Now, the massive hole has appeared by the side of the house. Exiting, was Saiki Kusuo, a former ex-psychic. Funny wording. Seems ironic.
'So, my life in peace is over now. But I actually feel that's not bad at all. Perhaps, I like to deal with hassles after all. Let's just get this over and done with.' He wore a genuine smile, a rare occasion for the pinkette. Before leaving, he felt something buzz in his pocket. 'That's weird. I don't remember having my phone on me.' Pulling it out, it was none other than the delicate pocket watch. He glanced at his family, before teleporting right into the sky to tackle the destructive issue.
As he teleported there, thrill rushed throughout his entire body. Heart racing again, it was a familiar feeling. Like... Falling in love? Scratch that, he didn't know that feeling. Alright, more like when Nendou suddenly appears and it's like a jump scare. Yeah, that's a better example. So as Saiki, feeling the power rush right through his head down to the trippiest of his toes, he had to plan out what his best plan of attack was.
Now arriving at the scene, he at first was blinded, but squinted at the object to get a closer look. Perhaps he could break it into the tiniest of shards, and let them float off into space like sand specks. That sounded good to him. Preparing to destroy the damn thing, he noticed the sudden change of brightness. It's yellow-red light was slowly starting to fade. It was almost shrinking? He didn't let that falter him, with his balled his fists still ready to break the rock. However... it was no longer a large, glorified rock. You couldn't break what wasn't there. And you couldn't break a girl; the thing that was now there.
Hold on, a girl?!
( don't worry. asvmane wouldn't ever leave you on a bad cliffhanger like that. )
But the rushing stopped. The meteorite that was doomed to hit Earth and destroy all, had now just been an unconscious girl, her body floating in space. She wore a pale, yellow-white dress, the skirt waving gently about, the same with her hair. She wore no other accessories, no shoes, and if Saiki were to be honest, she looked quite dead. Who wouldn't when you're random teenager floating out into space for absolutely no reason?
Though regardless of the situation, Saiki drew himself closer to the body, hands reaching underneath her to hold her. It was the pocket watch again. Floating from his pocket unknowingly, the chain gently began to wrap around the necks of the two students. Not a sight you see often, even as a psychic. Nor, would it be funny to say, an Angel.
As he held her in a sort of bridal position, the chain grew, allowing for both their heads to fit in. He was unfamiliar with the situation, but let fate run it's course. Being in space was hard, he tried his best not to accidentally let the stranger float away. The chain tightened; now shrinking unlike how it did before. Incidentally, Saiki didn't mind leaning into the girl because of this. He allowed himself to inspect her face clearer. Who was she?
She was certainly stunning; gentle features, a warm body, and he predicted her eyes to be the prettiest he's ever seen if they weren't closed. Could you cry in space?
The question didn't matter, because he was, his tears immediately turning cold and floating off into the starry field. "y/n." He slipped out. Taken aback with himself, he abruptly let the other go, realising how odd the situation was. "Who... Who are you?" He choked out, before realising it probably wasn't the kindest to let go of a human being lost in space. Bringing her back to him, he held her tightly. It was time to go home. Then he would figure this problem out.
~
He didn't know where to go, it'd be quite suspicious to bring an unconscious, unknown girl to a hospital. So he brought her home. To his room. Not to make that sound that of a weird way. Saiki would never be one to even consider anything of the sort. Romance disgusted him, you could say. Or, anyone could say really. I mean, who would reject the Teruhashi?
He laid the stranger onto his bed, hoping it would bring her comfort. As they got there, he let the girl have the locket. Saiki didn't really feel like it belonged to him anyways; she did looked certainly prettier with it. 'So... What to do with you...' He thought to himself, standing by his bed. 'I'm going to end up Kuusuke for too much...' The last person he wanted advice from, was his narcissistic brother. 'I doubt Aiura would know the answer, and let alone Toritsuka.' So he took a chair, and sat down beside her.
She looked peaceful, like she was in a dream she never wanted to escape. Just how his brother told him to, he thought maybe all she needed was rest. Then, would he be able to receive his answers. He expected it to be a couple hours, the standard for a good human's rest. But, how long was the standard rest for someone who had just been to outer space?
Only a good few minutes.
She began muttering incoherent sounds, Saiki didn't believe they were words at all. Shifting on the bed, she rolled onto her side, gripping onto the pillow that was below her. As any normal person would, Saiki would've been aggravated by this action. It's not quite pleasant to have a stranger cuddle up to your own bed. But Saiki felt okay. Knowing she was safe, gave himself assurance.
'Oi. Wake up already.' Realising she was close to waking up, he decided maybe it'd be best to get answers from her as soon as possible. Gently groaning more, there was so proper response. 'Kusuo...' He choked. Did she just... Say his name in her mind? How did she, out of all people, know his name? More or less, his first name. 'Don't be so mean Kusuo...' There came another thought.
Jumping to his feet, he leaned over the girl. 'Hey!' Hands on her shoulders, he shook her furiously. "Aish- Kuu... Just nap with me then..." She spat, finally out loud. Now, upon hearing her voice, it clicked.
It finally clicked.
"H-Hey! Wake up!" He shook her harder, needing her to wake up. "y-y/n!" The name felt both new, yet familiar, rolling off his tongue. His body was now practically on top of her's. "Please! Hey! You... You idiot Angel, wake up!" - "AH, OKAY! Kusuo! Okay! What do you-" Opening up her eyes, much to her distaste, she made eye contact with Kusuo for the first time in what felt like forever.
She was now wide awake, staring right back into a teary-eyed Kusuo. She realised this was no ordinary setting for herself, as her boyfriend was half laying on top of her, on the verge of crying out all his emotions. "Ku...suo?" She muttered, slowly taking his face into her hands. Staring into her eyes, it felt like home. Where he belonged. The silence between them felt painful. Memories flooding back, realisation settling in. Her lips parted gently, mouth dry. "How are... How are you back?!" Engulfing her into his arms, they both fell back onto the bed.
"How did you... When did you even? I-I just..." He couldn't even speak a full sentence. "I can- I can read your mind? So your powers?" He sounded breathless. She couldn't understand him, but at the same time she almost did. "I... I don't..." Grasping onto the material that fitted comfortably on his back, y/n choked back sobs. "This is where I belong, isn't it?" Maybe her words were strings of nonsense, but it felt right.
Slowly lifting himself off the girl, he used a hand to wipe away his wet cheeks. "Will... Will everyone remember me? Like you did?" She questioned, the other helping her up. She bit the inside of her cheek, looking around the room. "Do you?" Saiki asked back, unsure himself. "Honestly... I don't think so. I think it was miraculous enough that you remembered me." She admitted, holding his hand into hers. "Maybe you loved me enough to remember me!" She gasped teasingly, her smile lighting up the room. "Oh shut up..." He scoffed, before laughing along with her.
"Kusuo?" She then muttered, breaking the conversation into silence. He looked up at her, sharing the same comforting look she gave. It wasn't long before they pulled each other into a slow kiss. It felt warmer than most ones. Or maybe it was just being in space for too long left them cold. Didn't matter anyways, Saiki was thankful to have her home. Regardless if he'd be the only one to remember her.
He'd find a way to bring her home. No matter how long that would take. He'd buy every strawberry-butterfly keychain to prove his point. He wouldn't mind downing a million f/f milkshakes for that. All he needed was countless more photo booth photos with his lover to post up everywhere and show off. Even if that was a little out of character.
"You gotta let me finish my sentence sometimes..." She chuckled softly, referring to the identical moment at the volcano. "I'm not here to waste time." He muttered back, returning into their hugging position. She understood what he meant. Questions buzzed in her head, but she knew she'd find the answers sooner or later.
"Thank you Kusuo. Thank you for never forgetting me."

happy birthday kusuo!
