° Skeppy's POV °

I awoke the next morning with a miserable pain in my back. I assumed it was from hugging a blanket in an uncomfortable position. I had decided to get out of the molding building and continue walking. I followed my compass. It usually led me to some really good buildings, so it was a habit to follow in the direction it pointed.

A bit of walking wouldn't hurt even with the pain in my back. The compass began to spin in fast circles. I raised an eyebrow in suspicion. It never did that. I looked up to see a huge city before me. All the buildings were missing glass, leaning, covered in wines, weeds growing out everywhere, and water sitting in parking lots. It looked beautiful when the sun shined on it all. I inhaled, taking in the fresh scent of plants. I missed the smell. The only thing I had been smelling was zombies and moldy buildings. It felt refreshing to smell nature. The few of the morning still remained on the vines that ran their way through the city. It looked like a ghost town, and there wasn't much life left there. Occasionally a deer would run through, but I always saw deer run through cities in zombie apocalypse movies. But here I am now, actual witnessing it.

I held my bat tightly in my hand. Cities were known for holding zombies captive in the dark abandoned buildings. I didn't want to risk having a zombie come from behind and kill me. That was a nightmare I did not want to experience. I turned my head quickly, almost giving myself a whiplash. I saw a black figure run behind a school bus. The school bus was wrapped in vines and most of the windows were broken. There was a bit of graffiti on the sides. I slowly approached the school bus, walking towards the spot the figure ran behind. I held the bat above my shoulders, ready to swing.

° BadBoyHalo's POV °
I held the crowbar tightly in my hand. Someone or something was making their way around the school bus. I always seemed to question why I couldn't go anywhere without someone trying to murder me. As their shadow became visible, I readied my crowbar. As they turned the corner of the bus, we both swung, metal hitting metal. I fell back, sticking my hands up. I didn't want to fight at this point, just let whatever was there I'd what they wanted.

I slowly opened my eyes, seeing a boy stand before me. He had raven hair and a ripped blue hoodie. He crouched to pick up his bat. I kicked out at the bat, my black boot kicking it away from his reach.

"I need that dude," His eyes met mine.

I felt my cheeks go red.

"Is the sun in your face?" He asked as he moved his head, blocking the sun from pointing directly at my face.

"Uhm, the sun wasn't bothering me-" The boy moved his head, the sun shining back down on me.

I watched as the male grabbed his bat, sliding it back into his backpack. I stood, making sure to not start a fight with the stranger. He looked as if he had been fighting zombies for hours, or maybe he fought a few everyday.

"Don't be so scared. I don't really hurt people unless their zombified," I chuckled, dropping my shoulders.

"What're you doing out here? It's a bit dangerous out here, it's literally the home of zombies during the day." He snorted.

"They stay in the dark during the day, during the night they come out. I just go somewhere they aren't likely to go and just sleep there." I nodded.

"Well, my names Bad. Yours?" I looked at him, trying to lock eyes.

"Skeppy. Nice to meet you!" He walked over to me, taking my hand and shaking it.

"Your face is red? You hot or blushing?" He took a step back.

Oh shoot.

What do I say?

That's be awkward to say I'm blushing because of someone I just met!

"Hot! Y'know the sun beams down pretty hard this time of day during the fall!" I lied.

Skeppy nodded. He eyes the backpack that hung from my shoulder.

"Got any food? I used all mine to distract zombies," I nodded, setting my backpack on the ground.

I pulled out a few cans of food. I grabbed a few nearby sticks and started up a fire. Within minutes, the food was ready.

"How long have you been alone?" I asked, the fire burning between us.

"Two years. Occasionally someone will team up with me and then try to kill me or become zombified. It's tough out there, can't trust anyone." He took the silver spoon, scooping up some of the food out of the can.

"Same for me. I've been alone for quite some time now. I'd join groups but they'd steal all my stuff and leave me the next day with nothing." I saw the boy's face drop in disappointment.

"Kinda reminds me of what happened to my parents. They were killed as soon as the apocalypse happened. Every since they died, I've just wanted someone to be there for me, to walk with me, talk to me, hug me..." He trailed off, sighing.

I felt a pang of guilt. This boy had been alone since this madness started and just wanted someone to be by his side.

I stood up, walking over to him. I sat beside him, crossing my legs.

"Maybe it was good for us to meet each other. I've been needing someone in my life. I've always just wanted to talk to someone during all this but no ones there. In that case, I talk to myself or the world around me." I inhaled, exhaling slowly.

"This apocalypse has just driven everyone insane. It's either kill or be killed. I don't want to kill people, I want to live and have friends while trying to survive zombies. I just wish all this would end. I want to be in my house, in a bed, not having to worry about the dead barging in and killing me." I heard him sniffle, his voice sounding shaky.

° Skeppy's POV °

I was on the verge of crying. I wanted everything to be normal so badly. That wouldn't be happening till all these zombies died off and someone being the last human alive. I froze as arms wrapped around me. I noticed the taller boy who was sitting beside me pulled me into a hug. I couldn't refuse, I needed a hug. I wrapped my arms around him, resting my head on his chest. I let the tears fall down. Why couldn't the world go back to normal.

"Let it all out..." He mumbled.

I grabbed onto the black hoodie he was wearing, tightening my fists. It was painful to cry about the things that wouldn't be happening until years to come. The fire before us began to die out. As the last flame spit up into the air.

"You good?" He asked me.

I wrapped my arms around my knees, facing what used to be the fire. I shook my head. I'm sure he understood, for he said nothing.

° Dream's POV °

After two years of searching, I finally made it to the lab. Surprisingly, no one was there. I just assumed they all left of were killed. The lab was used for research on the zombies. The last experiment scientists had been working on was a cure to end the apocalypse. Well, everyone thought it was the last experiment.

I got word there was something else they had been working on. Not zombie, but alien like.

((I'm referring to the creatures from A Quiet Place II, the movie is really good, I recommend watching it))

They were only attracted to sound. Word went around that they had been stuck in the lab for sometime now. I used the flashlight to my phone. I was still amused how I still had my phone. It wouldn't last much longer, the battery only at twenty percent. I had only used it as a flashlight since I had been unsuccessful to find an actual flashlight.

A low grumble came from the other room. I stepped out of the room I was in, peeking over the wall. The room beside me had a bright red light glowing out into the hallway. The grumble continued. I walked over to the room slowly, hoping a zombie wouldn't pop out of the door. I peeked my head around the door, my mouth dropping. There stood a rock looking creature on all fours. It's head seemed to open up like a flower when it bloomed, revealing a meaty face.

I dropped my phone, screaming. The creature screeched and threw everything to the side that was in it's path. I ran, heart pounding against my chest. It wouldn't stop. I took the crowbar I had out of my backpack, swinging at the creature's head. It let out a blood curling screech as the crowbar made impact with it's head. It fell limply to the ground, the body going stone cold. I gasped for air, my hands shaking.

Get out of here now!

I ran out of the lab, daring to not look back. Whatever that was, there were definitely more.

I need to inform George immediately..
