~Chapter 30~
"How's he doing?" Bruce asked as he walked up to Tony and Hadley, who were just outside Bruce's lab where Dr. Helen Cho was fixing up Barton
"Unfortunately he's still Barton" Tony joked
"That's terrible" Bruce said, smiling as he looked at the lab
Hadley laughed "Yeah we don't know if it'll change"
Bruce snickered
"He's fine just thirsty" Tony said with a smile as he and Hadley walked down into Tony's part of the lab
"J.A.R.V.I.S. look alive it's playtime" Tony said, "we only have a few days with this joystick"
Hadley looked around
Tony looked at her "Do me a favor and go get the drinks for Barton will you?"
"I expect to get paid for this Stark" Hadley replied
"You will don't worry" Tony replied, watching her fondly as she left (and by watching her I mean staring directly at her a-)
Hadley smiled and headed upstairs to get the drinks

Hadley laughed as Rhodey frowned at the men in front of them, having just finished tell another War Machine story
"Why do I even talk to you guys?" He asked, crossing his arms, "everywhere else that story kills"
"Was that the whole story?" Thor asked in surprise, "very good then, it's impressive"
"Quality save" Rhodey said, sighing as he took a drink
"So no Jane?" Hill asked, "where are the ladies gentlemen? I thought Stark would have at least two by now"
"Well... I'm not really about that life any more... I've calmed down I suppose" Tony replied, looking toward Hadley, who gave a soft smile
"Yes, I'm not even sure what country Jane's in right now, her work on the convergence has made her the world's foremost astronomer" Thor replied
"Uh-huh that's nice, I was talking to a girl the other day who was taking her own lengthy strides in the astronomy world. It's all very exciting" Tony said, bragging as he glanced at Hadley
"There's even talk of Jane winning a- a Nobel prize" Thor said with a smirk
"Yeah they must be busy, I'm sure they'd hate to miss you two getting together" Hill said before violently coughing, "Testosterone! Ahem- excuse me"
"Need a lozenge?" Rhodey laughed as the two walked away
Hadley shook her head as the men laughed
Thor glanced at Tony "But Jane's better" he said before walking off
Tony rolled his eyes "No one's better" he mumbled to Hadley
"Come on, let's go enjoy the party" Tony said, taking her hand
"That sounds like a great plan" Hadley said before letting him lead her through the crowd
