After yesterday I've been on cloud 9. I get up and brush my teeth, humming a song that I'm pretty sure isn't even real. And to my surprise Greyson was still dead asleep when I got up.

I finish brushing my teeth and get dressed for the day. I put on a white jeans and a cropped grey hoodie.

After I got dressed I jumped back into bed, right on top of Greyson. He groans, burying his face into the pillow.

"Greyson," I whisper, poking his back. "Did you not sleep?"

"I was too happy," he mumbles, rolling over with a smile on his face. I laughed, kissing him lightly before jumping off the bed and all but running out of the room. "Hey get back here!"

I can hear him begin chasing after me and squeal, running down the stairs. I make it to the living room when his arms wrap around my waist, lifting me off the ground.

"Ah Greyson!" I scream, laughing. He's laughing, the sound vibrating deep in his chest. His head goes to my neck and his lips immediately attach to the skin.

He puts me down and I spin around to face him. He smiles and brings his head down to mine, our lips meeting. There's the sound of a door opening and I go to pull away but Greyson doesn't let me.

When he finally does pull away I see it's the maid from before. She's staring at us but turns away immediately when we stop kissing. I frown at her, at the scowl on her face when she looks at me.

"Miss Devin," Greyson says. She looks at him, his back still to her and her eyes light up.

"Sir?" She asks hopefully.

"Leave," Her eyes widened, her jaw dropping. She turns though, turns and leaves without a word.

"Why?" I ask, looking up at him. He pulls me closer by my hips.

"She's making you uncomfortable," he replies, shrugging. I'm surprised he caught that.

We ate breakfast and got in the car to drive me to school. His hand rested on my thigh as he drove with one hand.

"Your first ultrasound is today at 4 right?" He asks, turning into the parking lot.

"Yes, so we should be there at around 3:50," I said with a smile. He nods, turning to me and pulling me to him. He kisses me passionately, sighing when we pull away.

"I'll see you after school," I say, pecking his lips, "I love you."

"I love you too," he replies, tapping my thigh. I get out of the car and make my way towards where the girls are. I don't even get close before they're gaping at my left hand.

"Bitch what is that?" Emi asks, grabbing my hand and inspecting the ring.

"Greyson proposed?!" Kate all but screeched. I laughed and nodded my head. All three of them squealed, pulling me into a group hug.

I spent all morning explaining why I wasn't at school yesterday and what we did. Then I told them how he proposed and that it was his mom's ring.

They were all super happy and excited. The day flew by and before I knew it I was waiting by the gym for Greyson.

"Jace go away," I mutter when he approaches me. I would've thought he would've left me alone by now.

"You're really keeping it?" He asks in shock. I look at him absolutely dumbfounded.

"First of all, how the hell did you find out and second, why wouldn't I?" I ask, annoyed.

"I thought you were smarter than that, Vanessa." He scoffs, completely ignoring my question, "you two aren't going to last and that baby will only make things worse."

I move to walk away but he says something that stops me dead in my tracks.

"Maybe I'll just beat you until that thing dies." I spin around and smack him straight across the face. His face grows dark and he lunges for me, grabbing my arm and trying to drag me toward the locker room.

He's suddenly slammed into one of the concrete columns holding up the overhang roof. My wrist is still in his grip. A very angry and very hot Greyson has a hold on the collar of Jace's shirt.

"If you don't let her go I'll make good on the promise I made last time we talked," he threatens. Jace immediately drops my wrist, throwing his hands up in surrender.

"Look man, this is a misunderstanding. I thought you were done with her." he tries to lie.

"Vanessa, get in the car."

Uh oh.

He said Vanessa.

He never calls me Vanessa.

That's not good, he's really mad.

He releases one hand from Jace's shirt and reaches into his pocket, taking out the keys to the Camaro. I looked at him for a second before turning to Jace.

You know what. I'm done trying to save his ass after everything he's done.

I give Greyson one last glance as I take the keys before turning on my heels and walking towards the car.

I don't think Jace is walking out of this one.

-Greyson's POV-

I watch her walk away, making sure she's safely in the car before I drag the son of a bitch around the building.

I find a small inlet that's mostly cut off by a brick wall. I shove him through the opening and he falls flat on his face.

I know I promised Vanessa I wouldn't kill him.

But all I see is red.

Blood, murderous, red.

"Please man," he stutters, rolling onto his back with his hands up. "I-I swear I won't go near her again."

"That's right, you won't," I reply with a sigh. "Because when I'm done with you, you won't be breathing."

He tried to scream but I kicked him square in the face, breaking his jaw. The pure terror in his eyes makes me smile. I reach down and grab him by the collar of his shirt, slamming him into the wall repeatedly until he's knocked out.

"I should've killed you a long time ago," I muttered, taking out my knife and stabbing him straight through the ear and into his skull. I leave my calling card on his face and leave quickly.

When I get in the car Vanessa is half asleep, her hand resting on her stomach.

-Vanessa's POV-

I hear the car door open, opening my eyes to see Greyson getting in the driver's seat. He looks visibly upset, his eyes distant and his jaw clenched.

"I'm sorry Amore," he mutters, looking straight ahead. "You made me promise not to kill him but I-" I grabbed his clenched fist, sitting up straight and bringing his hand close to mine.

"I knew what was going to happen when I walked away." I whispered, he stared at our joined hands, "I stopped caring about his life when he threatened the baby."

His eyes snapped up to mine, flaring in anger. I brought my hand up to his face, feeling his clenched jaw under my hand.

"I'm pretty sure that's what he was about to do when you showed up." He closed his eyes, breathing out an angered sigh. I'm more so trying to convince myself that it's good he's gone.

Which it is.

But his mom and family won't see it that way. With a sigh I kiss Greyson, closing the discussion.

Call me a psycho for not being mad at Greyson for breaking his promise, for killing Jace, but Jace threatened my baby. That's where I draw the line.

We decided to not think about it, instead we've decided to focus on seeing our baby. So we drove to the doctor and waited nervously until the doctor called us back.

"Miss Vanessa Miller," the nurse called out, looking up from her clipboard. Greyson and I both stood, following the nurse back. "Wait here and the doctor will be in shortly."

"I'm nervous," I muttered. Greyson grabbed my hand, placing his other hand on my stomach.

"Me too," he replied, "I never saw myself having kids." I looked up at him, his eyes are locked on my stomach, his thumb lightly stroking the skin. His eyes were sparkling and a small smile graced his lips.

"Miss Miller?" The doctor asks, walking in, a male doctor. He smiles widely and Greyson looks up at him, his smile dropping. "Are you ready to see your baby?"

I smiled and nodded, gripping Greyson's hand a little tighter. The doctor nods and explains that we're going to find out how far along I am. Then he placed the cold jelly on my stomach, putting the device over the substance.

The screen on the wall opposite of where I sat lit up and in the center of the picture, my baby. My mouth gaped open, looking up at Greyson he was mesmerized by what he saw.

"There's the feet," the doctor says, pointing to where two little feet were tucked together. "Baby has a strong and steady heartbeat." I could hear the subtle and calm thumping the machine was making, the sound of a heart beating.

—Greyson's POV—

When I saw the baby come up on the screen everything else stopped. I heard the heartbeat and completely ignored anything the doctor was saying.

I looked down at Vanessa, tears in her hazel eyes and a bright smile on her face. The doctor left us after telling us the baby was healthy and that Vanessa is around 16 weeks.

He said she might start showing more or she may not grow much more. It's still too early to know the gender but we're just happy the baby is healthy.

"We did that," I said, pointing to the picture the doctor gave us of the ultrasound. Vanessa laughed, releasing my hand to get in the car. I closed the door for her and got in the driver's seat.

As we drive my mind drifts off to the other day. I finally figured out exactly who her dad is and he has some serious explaining to do if you ask me. His name was West Cordilla, not Mike Miller. When I was little he was a mafia leader based out of Miami.

That's not the part that pisses me off though. What pisses me off is Vanessa's mom isn't really her mother. Her mother died when she was little, by the hands of my father, in a war he started with West.

I almost tell her but I keep my mouth shut. That's a story she needs to hear from her dad. It kills me to keep it from her but it's not my place.

The only reason I figured it out was because I remember what he looked like. I was suspicious when I first met him but didn't say anything in case I was wrong.

Then it was the little things that gave him away. At Kayden's burial he clocked my tattoo almost immediately when we shook hands.

His tattoo is what gave him entirely away. A scarred dolphin crossed with a gun on his ankle. His old mafias insignia.

I tear myself out of my thoughts as we pull up to the house.

—Vanessa's POV—

Greyson was very quiet on the drive home. His thumb made idle circles on my thigh but his mind was somewhere else entirely.

So when we sat on the couch I laid my head on his chest. He pulled me close to his side, resting his head on top of mine.

"Greyson, what's wrong?" I ask after we get settled. He silently shakes his head.

"It's nothing Amore, just thinking," he mutters, kissing my head.

"Bullshit," I reply, sitting up and crossing my arms, raising a brow at him. He just stares at me for a second before sighing. "What is it?"

"I shouldn't be telling you. It's something you need to talk to your parents about." He said. Okay now I'm freaking out.

"Greyson, tell me," I say, grabbing his hand.

"Let me tell you a story," he says, I look at him in confusion but nod. He opens his arms and I realize he wants to hold me so I lean back against him, settling down at his side. He gently strokes down my back and starts talking.

"When I was 7, my father was at war with a small American mafia on the east coast. He ended up killing the leader's girlfriend, leaving him with a 2 year old daughter." I sighed, looking up at him as he spoke. I could feel his voice vibrating through his chest. "After that the leader fled with his infant daughter, leaving his mafia to fall apart. He changed his name and moved across the country to hide."

He looked down at me and I was confused for a split second before I realized what he was getting at. I slapped my hand over my mouth

"My dad?" I muttered. He nods and I sit up abruptly.

"Amore, I'm sorry-" he starts but I cut him off.

"My mom isn't my mom." I say with a heartbreaking realization. I close my eyes and hear him sigh.

The woman who raised me... isn't my mother.

They lied.

"I shouldn't have told you, it's not my place." He shakes his head, going to stand up. I grab his shoulders, forcing him back to the couch.

"No, no I'm glad you told me,"  reassure him, bringing my hands up to his face. "Or else I probably would've never known."

He leans forward and kisses my forehead.

"I'm sorry," he says again.

"Greyson, I asked for the truth and you gave it to me, something neither of my parents bothered to do in 18 years." I replied. He was silent for a moment.

"Don't hate your dad," He pleads quietly. I look down between us, tracing one of the tattoos on his leg.

He lied to me my entire life. My mom is dead and I never even knew who she was. How can he expect me to be ok with that?

"I don't hate him... I do need to talk to him though," I mutter, looking into those eyes. He nods.

"I promised myself I wouldn't tell you." He mumbled. "That it was your dad's job to do it but," he pauses, looking up at me, "I can't lie to you."

I don't say anything, I just kiss him.

Ok so like. I have nothing to say about this chapter actually so peace out fam. xoxo
