"Athanasia!" Lucas screamed out from the other side of the field.
"Lu.. cas..."
Athanasia had been shot with an arrow, far out of Lucas's reach.
He couldn't protect her.
"Stay with me Athy. I'll heal you-"
"No, no. Don't." Athanasia coughed. "You need to save your mana.."
"Who cares?! I don't care if we win this fight or not, I can't lose you!"
"...win this, Lucas. For me."
Lucas screamed out, angry at the gods. The girl had gone cold in his hands, dying in her love's embrace.
...
"Okay, drama queens. Was that really necessary?"
Ijekiel, Jennette, Lucas and Athanasia were all playing DnD. The events that just transpired? Yeah, that was all the game.
"Yep." Athanasia was already on the floor, petting Jennette's cat.
"Absolutely necessary."
Jennette, the cleric, picked up the dice and silently rolled. "I roll to resurrect Athanasia."
"What-? No, you can't do that."
"She can, because she's a cleric." Ijekiel turned to Jennette. "What did you get?"
"Nat 20."
"Dammit!"
