Chapter 1
-)*(-
Dodging low branches and jumping fallen trees, I race through the forest. I had to get away. They were going to catch me if I didn't do something fast! Jumping over a boulder, I saw my only chance of escape.t
Diving through a hole in a tree, I found myself in the old tunnels. I dashed forward. Ha they would never catch me now! Taking a right I emerged in a small cave, there were tons of them in the tunnels.
If I run strait across and take the tunnel ahead I can make it back to the pack. But if I take the tunnel on the right I can lead them to the river, away from the pack.
A howl sounds quite a distance away, but I know better. The tunnels make everything far away, they could be right behind me. Not that they would come in the tunnels, there are probably above me.
I dash to the right and into the afternoon sun. Weaving in between the trees, I make it confusing as to where I am going. "THERE SHE IS! AFTER HER!" a black wolf howls.
Their paws thumped against the soft forest floor, sounding like thunder. I slowed my pace, teasing them to go faster. I could easily outrun them any day!
The smallest of the three pushes forward, putting forth one final blow of speed. He trips over a broken branch, tumbling head first into a tree. That's going to leave a mark. I sort of feel bad for him, but it's not my fault he's a total cults.
I leaped a boulder, just clearing the top. Thankfully my pursers didn't have much luck. They scrambled to the top and pushed off, landing hard on their paws. They took a couple seconds to get the proper footing, but then were off after me again.
I ducked into hallow log, pushing through the cobwebs to the other side. I was almost out when I couldn't move forward any more. I was stuck. I WAS STUCK!
A huge black wolf was sticking her head into the hole in front of me. She grinned evilly at me. "I caught Kenya!" she sang to the others.
"SERIOUSLY?!" the one who ran into a tree earlier questioned.
"Yes! She is in this log!" she yelled while patting the top of the log with her tail.
"UM GUYS!" I growled.
"What?" all three asked suddenly finding me really interesting.
"I'm stuck." I said casually. "The log was bigger when we were younger..."
"No, you grew." Stated the one who 'caught' me.
"OH, be quiet Lily!" I growled.
"Well it is true! Right Luke?" Lily whimpered.
"I guess." Luke replied.
"TREVOR!" I howled.
"What's up buttercup?" he asked. A playful glint in his eyes.
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!"
He was the smallest of the three, also the one who ran into the tree. He just barely fit through the small opening. He was now nose to nose with me and kept moving forward. Pushing me out of the small space, he freed me but got tangled in cob webs himself. "Trevor! What are you doing!? Your setting my catch free!!" Lily screeched.
"How else do you expect to get her back? Drag the log? I'm not helping with that, Lily." Trevor growled playfully while glancing at me.
The log was now wide enough for me to turn around and escape. "Ta ta for now!" I murmured. Turning on a dime and tickling Trevor with my fluffy white tail.
"Not so fast!" he said gleefully as he grabbed my tail in his jaw.
"OWWWW! That's not fair!" I whined.
"All is fair in love and war!" Lily sang, now at the other end of the log. She smiled sheepishly and grabbed my scruff. Dragging me out of the log with Trevor on my tail. "Now surround her guys. We don't want her escaping!"
It had been so long since we had played this game. I was the fastest so I was always the runner, while they chased me. It was good exercise and practice for if we ever needed to capture of run from the enemy. I do not go down without a fight though; I just had to wait for the right moment...
We started off back to the pack. They would be at camp by now, the moon was coming up. We followed a path we made a couple moons ago. Soon there would be fallen trees lining it. That is where I will make my move.
I glanced at Trevor, only to notice him staring at me. I gave him a mischievous look, which he returned with a look of pure terror. He didn't know what I was going to do, but he knew I was going to do something.
Finally the path was boarded by the fallen trees. A howl sounded in the distance, the pack was calling us to come back. Just what I needed. "Oh the alphas are going to be so proud of us!" Lily squealed.
We picked up our pace a little. I leaped into the air turning as I flew over them. There expressions where priceless! Lily and Luke both looked bewildered and Trevor was smirking. I landed softly, then raced off towards the pack. "Can't hold me prisoner forever!" I shouted behind me.
They chased after me, but it was no use. I made it to the pack first, they were by the river like I had suspected earlier. I started my way up the boulders to where the alpha and luna were. "Kenya we need to talk." The alpha stated calmly. What I do this time!? I thought.
