Tired, Shuichi made his way to his room. He guessed that they would have only a few hours of peace until Monokuma pulled up a new, crazy motive. He groaned. The last thing he would need was another time limit motive which didn't apply to Monokubs. He didn't want anyone to die. He found his room and crashed onto his bed instantly since it had been a long day.
Almost instantly, he heard Monokuma's morning announcement. "Rise and shine, Ursine! Now, get to the gym immediately! I have a cool new motive to play with!" Was it morning already? Shuichi felt like he had only slept for a few seconds. He heard a knock on his door and went to answer it.
It was Kokichi. "Morning, Saihara chan! How well did you sleep? I didn't rest at all because of the motive...... maybe that's true, maybe that's a lie? You should be able to figure that out since you're a detective!"
Shuichi felt a migrane coming up. "Ouma-Kun, I'll figure out your mind games later. We have to get to the gym now." He got out of the room and walked towards the gym doors, Kokichi trailing close behind and making jokes. He pushed open the doors......
Nothing seemed very strange. Everyone was standing there, waiting. "Shuichi!" it was Kaito. "Thanks for saving us in the class trial yesterday. You were super cool! All you need to do is build up your confidence! I'm sure that as the sidekick of the Luminary Of The Stars, you'll fix that in no time! Right, Harumaki?" he motioned to the girl next to him.
Maki looked like she was about to be sick."Do you want to die?" she whispered, sufficiently freaking out everyone.
Just at that time, Monokuma jumped onto the podium. "Alright, here's your motive! He was holding a large flashlight. The remaining 3 Monokubs appeared as well, holding their own 3 flashlights, surrounding the Ultimate students.
"Maybe the flashback lights are our motive," K1-BO mused. " The flashlights they're holding look like the ones we've found around the school, only bigger."
"No, That's Wrong!" Monokuma yelled. Why would I make such a boring motive? I promised something fun, and now I deliver!" "Hey, don't steal my catchphrase!" Shuichi yelled. In answer, Monokuma and the Monokubs turned on the flashlights. Shuichi suddenly felt very hot and very cold at the same time. It was like a hundred volts of electricity was coursing through his veins. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. He writhed, trying to get out of the light, but he couldn't move, for some reason. Thankfully, the light turned off soon, and Shuichi saw the Monokuma family shoot the light at Kaede. Shuichi felt sick until he saw that everyone was looking at him. He immediately felt self-conscious, wondering what had happened. He realized he was lying on the gym floor, and sat up to see locks of long blue hair tumble down his shoulders, the last thing he could remember before he passed out.
