I saw you on the beach again. Hunched over, tossing pebbles into the waves. Your feet were once again buried in the sand and the scarf around your neck whiffled through the wind.
"Hey!" I called as I walked over. Every step I took felt heavier than the last.
"Hey," you spoke. Your voice was soft, a bit more rough than usually.
"You okay?" I didn't knew what to say.
"Perfect."
"I'm serious."
"So am I," you deadpanned.
You stared into the ocean, interlocking your eyes with the water.
"Stop lying."
"Stop interrogating."
I remained silent.
