Both boys ran to the place where they made the promise.
The place where they both vandalized lol.

doyoung and taeyong stared at the words as if they were in a gallery observing an art piece while their hands are in a handhold, as always since they're a couple.
"Ten years later, us coming back here again will feel nostalgic"
doyoung said as he drank his monster drink. taeyong smiled and intertwined his arm with the boy. He then said after taking a sip of the energy drink,
"This feels like nostalgia already. Oh and doyoungie?"
"Yeah?"
"Promise me that you'll love me forever"
taeyong stated.
The raven haired turned and face the pinkhead. doy cupped tae's face and began to caress his ever so soft features and gave a soft and endearing smile.
"I promise. Till death do us part"
doyoung said and then leaned in to passionately kissed the shorter.

Transitions into a timeskip:
doyoung and taeyong pulled away from their memorable wedding kiss underneath floral wedding arch canopy. This new made memory will only last for a lifetime. And on top of all that, the crowd went wild in excitement.
"I love you"
taeyong softly said while blushing under his makeup. doyoung reciprocated by saying,
"I love you more angel"
This person who's like the maid of honour gave taeyong the bouquet. taeyong smiled as a way of saying thank you and prepared to do the traditional of throwing the bouquet of flowers.
taeyong gave himself some space and the invitees gathered far behind him to catch the flowers first.
"okay get ready everyone"
taeyong said as he was preparing to throw the flowers to whoever is lucky to catch. Some persons were pushing and shoving each other in a disorderly way lol.
he then threw the flower as high and far behind him as he can and the lucky person who caught the beautiful bouquet of bright, pretty and colourful flowers was his...,
"I caught it!"
... best friend in the whole wide world, jaehyun.
"Legend says that whoever caught the bouquet, they are next in turn to be married"
taeyong excitedly stated this piece of information which caused jae to blush as he was imagining he and johnny's wedding.
"Run along now, you don't want to keep your husband waiting"
taeyong giggled and did what he was told to.
Fast forward to the wedding speeches and other stuff that happens in a wedding it was the time for a couple's dance.
"Even at this moment, you still look so beautiful"
doyoung complimented. taeyong did a little cute twirl of his soft floral aesthetic wedding dress as he cutely laughed with a dust of pink appearing on his cheeks. The classical music, merry go round of life started to play once they got in position.
As the newly wed couple waltzed around the wedding space, one could only glance and see the countless amount of emotions from the way they were staring at each other with such love and endearment that even I, as the author of this cute love story, am jealous. They are happy with each other and that is what matters.
The twirls along with the smooth graceful dances that come with it is enough to complete the enchanted theme wedding of dotae. The emotional dance made tears come to everyone's eyes. dotae made the crowd go crazy when they kissed at the end of the dance.
Then it was time for the cutting of the wedding cake. One mishap which occurred though was of haechan "accidentally" eating the whole ass cake😭
"I tried to stop myself, but- but I couldn't resist-"
Was haechan's excuse.
And before anything could get worse and taeyong knowing about the situation, doyoung and yuta quickly went a few blocks down the road and bought a rainbow wedding cake, which was taeyong's original preference before it got changed into the traditional all white wedding cake.
taeyong couldn't be happier when he cut the preferred cake with his husband, his doyoungie. While cutting the cake taeyong stared happily at the three rings on his ring finger. The promise ring, the engagement ring and the wedding ring fit so perfectly on his finger.
Fast forward again, to the ending of the ceremony and reception where dotae were taking a romantic walk along the beach. The soft and gentle breeze blew gracefully past the hair on the heads.
"I've never been this happy before until I met you"
doyoung said then kissed taeyong's cheeks. taeyong only smiled, too happy to give a statement.
"You know thinking about it, how we actually met was kinda cliché"
doyoung said again. Now dotae were sitting on the shore of the beach with the sand in their toes and the ocean gifting them treasures from the deep. taeyong found a seashell, took it up and observed it. He then placed the seashell up to his ears listening to the soundful songs of the ocean.
"Yeah it was"
taeyong responded. They then both shared a hearty laugh. So, to explain further, one day back then, doyoung and taeyong were walking on the opposite ends of the sidewalk, minding their own business, doing their own thing and then dotae bumped into each other, made brief eye contact with each other, apologised in sync and then walked about on their merry ways. Pretty simple. Then their conversation continued with shared kisses and exchanging of i love yous until the raven haired lead taeyong to the water so that they could play. tae started by splashing water on the other which caught doy completely off guard.
The jolly sounds of the couple's laughter was voiced underneath the sunset.
"My dress is now wet"
taeyong said and playfully pouted. doyoung went towards him and gave him a long and affectionate kiss. They pulled away and smiled at each other for the nth time for the day.
Ahhh love is in the air.
So this could be like the perfect fairytale ending where dotae have their daily dose of the sugar rush of love and lived happily ever after.

Hello you humans from planet earth. This is officially the end of candy store. Im not thinking of writing any bonus chaps because my bucket of ideas on this story is literally empty so that means no bonus chaps :(. If you have been here since the beginning, I just want to say thank you and I really do appreciate it :). I enjoyed writing this book sm. I love you guys so much skksks ❤.
Omg this book is really ending...my heart is hurting. I want to cry literally. Who told me to get emotionally attached to this book?...
Additional Notes:
Originally candy store was inspired by a taeyong related meme I saw on Instagram one of them fine days on my feed and then an idea just popped into my head. And since I've always wanted to write a cute story with my main nct ship, dotae, I guess that's how doyoung automatically became the love interest in the book lolz.
Fun fact:
dotae was supposed to meet literally at the candy store but I changed my mind and decided to make the title candy store as a metaphor or a symbol in the book.
Bonus fact from the story (although nobody asked but meh)
taeyong still write and decorates letters and envelopes then mail them to doyoung although they're a couple and living together. taeyong mails the letters under doy's pillow at night lol.
They still have goth kuromi and soft kuromi (melody) :)
They still maintain their respective aesthetics (grunge aesthetic + soft aesthetic)
