Your POV:
"You'll let me buy you a drink now, won't you? Mr. Lynx." Foxx asked Ash.
Like fuck he will.
"Where are you taking them?" I asked when they were loading some of Ash's and other members helping us into a truck.
"I'd worry about myself if I were you two." Foxx replied.
"Don't worry about them. Dr. Mannerheim will take good care of them." Foxx added.
Bullshit.
"What?" Ash said, slightly shocked.
As was I. Mannerheim wouldn't take care of them. Not at all. Kong then got hit in the head with the butt of a gun as he wasn't moving fast enough for them. Max crouched down on his knees next to him before speaking.
"Soldiers shouldn't treat hostages like that." Max shouted.
"Too bad, but the international laws don't apply to us. We don't "exist", you know." Foxx said.
"Now then. Take Mr Dino's son and daughter inside. I'd like a word with them." Foxx ordered the soldiers.
"There's nothing to talk about." Ash said in a serious tone.
"I have nothing to say to the likes of you." I spat back.
"You'll both change your mind." Foxx said to us both.
Both of us were then forced inside and tied up on chairs. The rope wrapping around our necks. It was uncomfortable, yeah, but I had a really bad feeling about how they tied us up.
"To think you've both killed so many of my seasoned men. A young boy and girl with such innocent faces." Foxx said, nodding at the soldiers behind him to go outside I guess.
He puffed out smoke in our faces before speaking.
"You're like a leopard. A wild demon of the forests that the jungle dwellers dread the most. But it's graceful and beautiful. And you, a snake. Elegant in killing and in nature." Foxx said to us both.
"Those who hate us call us the devil, reaper, whatever." I start.
"But you, I will not let you say it. We don't go around carving out eyes from people who are still alive." Ash finished.
Foxx then punched us both before pulling on the rope tying us up, strangling us as he did so.
"Why do you both resist the monsieur? You're both talented, young, and beautiful. You could have anything you want." Foxx said.
"Anything? Only on his agenda. We have nothing to do with it." Ash replied.
"Why don't you join hands with me, Ash and Y/N?" Foxx asks.
Then, his grip slackened.
"If you become the head of the Foundation, and Y/N the underboss, the world will bow before you. I'll take over the shady business, you two won't have to soil your hands. Join me, and the world will be ours." Foxx said.
We both then started laughing before Ash spoke again.
"Are you serious? I'd rather kiss a slug than join hands with you." Ash replied.
"Nah, I think I'd much rather eat a slug." I replied.
Foxx did not like that answer and used the rope to strangle us both again, though tighter this time.
"The son and daughter of a distinguished man shouldn't speak like that." Foxx said, letting go of the rope again.
"I noticed the monsieur seems to have a trump card against the US government. You two know what it is, don't you?" Foxx said as me and Ash were coughing.
"The Corsican Foundation has deeply penetrated the heart of the US. There must be something behind it. You'll tell me, won't you? As a sign of our partnership." Foxx said, backing us into a wall.
"You've got to be kidding me. You're crazy." Ash said.
"I understand very well that simple violence won't move you two." Foxx said.
So he then slammed us both into the floor. Though, for some reason, he made sure I landed on my injured shoulder.
"You two try to escape from the monsieur because you were once his sex toy and test subject. You know he'll control you both once again if you return to him. Your knees will give way, and you won't be able to move. You're still powerless against that curse." He said, tracing a hand on Ash's body.
I tried to stop him from doing it, but it just made the situation worse. Instead, he found my bullet wound and pushed his finger deep into it, causing me to scream out in pain and it start to bleed again.
"Stop, get your hands off me!" Ash said when Foxx started touching him.
I couldn't bear to watch. I turned away and knew I was next.
"Now, ready to talk?" Foxx asked.
"Your kind is always like that. You dominate others by forcefully crushing them. Suit yourself. But nobody can dominate me." Ash replied in a low tone.
"I'll never bow down to you. I'll resist with my entire soul." Ash shouted after.
"Well then. As you two wish." Foxx said.
Foxx drew out a knife and immediately stabbed me in the thigh with it, causing me to cry out in pain again. Remembering I had an already bleeding injury. He stabbed the knife into that as well. To top it off, he punched me hard enough in the chest that a rib or two would break. After that, I passed out.
When I came to, Foxx was sat backwards on a chair facing the two of us. Ash's shirt was ripped, and I immediately knew what happened. Looking down at my own clothes, the same had happened to me. Foxx saw I was awake and brought his cigarette to my thigh wound and put it in the wound. Burning it as he did so. Which caused me to cry out in pain again, passing out because it was too much.
After a few minutes, I heard bullets spraying before Ash crouched down next to me, seeing me awake.
"Are you alright?" He asked, worry in his tone.
"Mhm." Was all I could muster.
It was a lie, and he could clearly tell.
"Don't move. I'm going to cut the rope." He said, cutting the rope that was tying me up.
"Can you stand?" He asked.
I tried to stand but cried out in pain the moment I did.
"Don't force yourself." Ash said, helping me up.
He let me lean on him for support as he started shooting the soldiers as we began our exit.
"Face me, Foxx!" Ash called out, moving quicker.
I could barely keep up with him, so I hid behind a wall.
"Go! Don't worry about me." I shouted after him.
"No." He said, coming back for me.
"We'll meet again, Ash and Y/N. Don't forget what I said." Foxx said.
He threw a smoke grenade and ran. Coward.
"Ash, Y/N, you're safe." Eiji said.
"You idiots, why did you come back?" Ash asked as I leant on him slightly.
"We've got to get out of here!" I shouted.
We left the building and headed for some secluded area. Ash could tell I needed a rest since my bullet wound was reopened, I had two fractured or broken ribs and I was stabbed. He gently sat me down away from everyone else as he probably worked out I didn't want to be near people right now.
"We'll be safe here." I heard Sing say.
"Are you okay?" Cain asked the two of us. "Show me your wounds."
He went to touch mine and Ash's shoulders before we slapped his hand away.
"What's wrong?" He said when we slapped his hands away.
"Sorry, it's nothing." Ash said.
"Mhm. Sorry." I said, turning my face away.
"We just need some rest." Ash said.
I was trying so hard to hide how shaken up I was, as was Ash. It wasn't something I liked talking about. The pain was slowly setting in and it was becoming more and more hard to hide. It was intense. Eiji then came up to the two of us and hugged us. I tensed up at first but eventually let myself fall into it before falling asleep in his embrace.
Ash's POV:
I noticed Y/N fall asleep but didn't say anything. She had it worse than I did. And it felt like this isn't the first time that that has been the case. We left the area we were in and headed for a different abandoned building. Eiji was helping Y/N since she was still sleeping. When we opened the doors, the rest of the gang members were there.
"I know where they went." I said, bandaging my wounds.
Eiji sat Y/N down on the crate next to where I was sat. Before we even moved out, dressing our wounds was the first priority. But convincing her to let someone see to her wounds would be a struggle. Especially after what happened.
"The National Mental Health Institute." I replied.
"If you knew, why didn't you help them?" Lao argued.
"We were caught, too." I explained.
"Sing and Cain saved our lives." I added.
"You left our guys to die and saved them instead?" Lao shouted at Sing.
"I didn't have a choice." Sing replied.
"There were more than 20 of them. All pros, too. We'd just get caught if we tried anything." Cain backed Sing up.
"Since when are you Ash and Y/N's shadow, Cain?" Lao asked.
"What did you say?" Cain replied.
"Don't act like you aren't. Being bossed around by a white boy and girl like that." Lao scoffed.
"Hey, this isn't the time for this." Jessica said, involving herself.
"Nothing better to do? Have it your way. But don't get in our way anymore." I eventually said as the arguments continued.
"He's right. If you're not serious about this, get out." Cain said.
Conversations fell on death ears then and everyone dispersed. After a while, Y/N started stirring and soon woke up.
"Oww..." Was the first thing she said.
"Y/N!" Eiji exclaimed.
"I know you hate when we ask, but at least let one of us dress your wounds." I said, a hint of worry in my tone.
"F-fine... only because I don't have the energy to argue." She replied.
"H-huh?!" Eiji exclaimed.
"I'm not saying it again." She said.
Eiji went off and found a first aid kit before coming back with it. She was wearing shorts, so her leg wound was easy to access.
"I didn't see what happened back there... without going into too much detail since it was traumatic... what injuries did you get, exactly?" I asked, hoping it wasn't too much for her to answer.
"I think I've got either two broken or fractured ribs. A knife wound to my thigh which a cigarette was put in. Burning the wound slightly. And my bullet wound on my shoulder was re-opened. And made bigger..." She said, shaking slightly.
"Sorry... this is gonna hurt." I said.
I cleaned her wounds and she immediately squeezed onto my spare hand as a sign it hurt a lot more than we both initially thought it would. I cleaned the first wound and bandaged it before moving onto her shoulder. She took off her t-shirt revealing a rather large bruise on her side, most likely from the injured ribs.
I cleaned her shoulder wound and bandaged that before she fell asleep again. It must've taken a lot out of her. She was more beaten up when we were with Foxx than I was.
"Is she okay?" Eiji asked, worried for her as I was.
"To be honest, I don't know... she went through a lot and passed out twice. I think she took the brunt of it..." I said, not looking at Eiji.
When I did actually look away, Eiji placed a hand on her forehead before sighing.
"She has a fever again... the trauma and the fact she re-opened one of her wounds must've caused it." Eiji sighed.
"We can't really move forward without her fit for action. She's a skilled marksman. Plus... I can't just take Golzine down on my own. We have to do it together." I reply.
"Yeah, I get that... let's let her rest for now." Eiji said.
"Yeah. You stay here with her in case she wakes up." I say, getting up.
"Are you going somewhere?" Eiji asked.
"Just downstairs." I replied.
I left Eiji with Y/N and headed downstairs as Lao ran past me.
"Damn it." Sing cursed.
""You call yourself a boss", right?" Sing added.
"Nah. Alex is back. Come with me if you're in." I said, heading back upstairs.
"Ash." Sing said, stopping me in my tracks.
"Have you and Y/N ever regretted becoming a boss?" Sing asked.
"All the time." I replied.
"Every damn day." I heard Y/N say.
"You're supposed to be resting." I said to her.
She was leaning against the wall, and it looked like she re-opened the wound on her leg.
"Sitting on the floor is uncomfortable." She replied, wobbling slightly.
"This is why you're supposed to be resting. You've already lost too much blood." I say, going over to her.
"It's just a scratch." She teased.
"That's more than a scratch. Saying a bullet wound is a scratch is fine. But not your injuries." I reply, helping her back to the main room.
I sat her down on the sofa and she winced in pain as I did.
"Sorry... does it still hurt?" I asked.
"Yeah... a lot actually." She says, looking away.
"Try and rest for now." I said, watching her eyes close and open.
"Yeah..." She paused and fell asleep.
Both me and Eiji were worried about her. Her wounds never get the chance to heal before they're re-opened again. Plus, she looked pale.
"Hey, Eiji?" I ask.
"Yeah?" He replied.
"Do you know when she ate last?" I asked.
"Erm... I don't actually think I've seen her eat." Eiji replied.
"So she hasn't been looking after herself then?" I ask.
"I guess so. But look on the bright side, this might be over soon." Eiji reassured.
God I hope you're right.
After that, I headed out somewhere quickly with Jessica to visit someone before returning. When we got back, Y/N was awake and using a laptop. She was sat next to Jessica. I gave her a look that hinted "you better not be pushing yourself".
"I didn't. Eiji helped me over here." She replied.
I looked at Eiji and he just nodded.
"Makes you sick, huh?" I asked Jessica.
"If this gets released, it would throw the White House into an uproar." Jessica said.
"An unheard of scandal." Y/N added.
"It's our last resort. All we can do is expose his connections with the government officials. As long as we have this, Max is safe. I can't say for how long though." I told Jessica.
"How will they come for us?" Jessica said.
I went to answer but Alex walked in.
"Ash, everyone's here." Alex said.
I helped Y/N up and as we went to leave, Jessica stopped us in our tracks.
"Ash, Y/N, that day, were you...?" Jessica paused.
"Sorry, it's nothing." She finished.
"Yeah, we were. You wanted to know if we were raped, right?" I replied.
"How can you be so calm about it?" Jessica asked.
"It took me 6 months to get back up on my feet." Jessica added.
"We'd be long dead before now if it took us that long." Y/N replied.
Then, we left. I helped Y/N to the main room, sitting her down though she winced slightly. She was trying so hard to hide it so she could help us.
"Construction work?" I asked Alex when he said his findings.
"Yeah, pretty big too." Alex replied.
"Lucky for us. There must be lots of trucks going in and out." Cain said.
"The question is, where are they locked up?" Sing said.
"They're sure to contact us. We have something of his he needs back." I replied.
After that, the conversations stopped. Me and Y/N headed to one of the bedrooms where Eiji was. She insisted on walking there by herself. But she didn't exactly get far. I helped her the rest of the way and she leant against the wall when we got there.
"You go with Jessica and have News Week shelter you. We won't take no for an answer." I said as Eiji poured himself a drink.
"I know. I'll go with Jessica. I think that's best, too." He replied though had a saddened expression.
"You don't have to be so suspicious." Eiji said when I walked close to him and didn't quite believe him.
"I mean, I guess last time was, well... But not this time. I promise." Eiji said.
"This time?" I said.
"Okay, sure. This time, huh." Y/N sarcastically says.
"You sure were something last time, big bro." I finished.
The conversation fell there, and another began.
"In the end, we all have to rely on you two again." Eiji said, sounding solemn.
"I wish I could take both your places. I didn't want to make you hold a gun anymore." He added.
"Our hands are dripping with blood. The blood of the innumerable people we killed." Y/N spoke up.
"You had to, or you would've both been killed." Eiji replied.
"My father always said that I was a troublemaker. We'll only cause trouble for you, too. Just like now." I said.
"You think I'd care? As if I would! You two know that better than anybody. I don't want to lose you two. I'd do anything for you two." Eiji said, voicing his concerns.
As he said that last sentence, "I'd do anything for you two", the two of us had shocked expressions on our faces. Mostly because I don't think anyone has ever said that to us before.
"Come with me to Japan. You two won't need guns there. You can be reborn. You can be free. I don't want to make you fight anymore. I don't want you two facing any more danger." Eiji added.
"Thanks." Me and Y/N said in unison.
"I wanted to be like you, too. I've always wished I could've lived a more normal life." I said.
"Same here. The moment I was born into this world I was pushed away from a normal life." Y/N added.
"You both can! It's not too late. You can do anything." Eiji argued.
"You'll have to teach us Japanese, then." I reply.
"Of course. You'll both get it down just like that." Eiji says.
"Oh wait, Y/N already knows Japanese." Eiji says in realisation.
"You do?" I ask.
"Yeah. Got bored one day and learnt it. Mandarin and French as well. But Amery doesn't know." She laughs slightly but soon winces in pain.
"Okay, note to self. Laughing hurts." She eventually says.
"I'm not so sure. Vowels are the key to Japanese, right?" I ask.
"Like "Gi-zu-mo"." I add.
"It's "I-zu-mo"." Eiji corrected.
"I-zu-mo?" I said.
Eiji then pulled out a piece of paper and wrote on it in Japanese. I couldn't make heads of tails of it.
"What's this?" I asked.
"The basic greetings." Eiji replies.
""Nice to meet you"." Eiji said, pointing at a phrase.
"Oh, I know how to say that much. "How y'all doing". "I'm a-okay"." I said in Japanese.
"Who taught you those phrases?" Eiji said, his jaw dropping.
"Ibe-san." I replied.
"Okay, and here's how you say goodbye." Eiji went on.
""Sa-yo-u-na-ra"." He spelled out.
"Sa-yo-na-ra." I pronounced out.
"Sayonara..." I heard Y/N mumble and it sounded like a tear accompanied it.
All of a sudden, Eiji pushed me out of the way.
"Watch out!" He said.
Then Eiji got shot. Me and Y/N had shocked expressions on our faces before turning around to see who did it.
"Eiji!" Me and Y/N screamed out.
They continued shooting, shooting me in the stomach. Y/N stepped forward to shoot them but also got shot. In the exact same place as me. Though her other wound had opened. We began shooting back, killing one of them. We shot a few times as the other ran off.
Me and Y/N then chased after him as Alex and Cain went to the room we were just in.
"Help me!" He called out as I shot him in the head.
Me and her kept shooting, getting our anger out before Sing stood in front of him.
"Stop!" Sing called out.
"No Sing, watch out!" Lao called after him.
"Out of our way!" I shouted.
"Stop, he's already dead!" Sing shouted back.
"No!" Lao shouted, aiming a gun at us.
I shot his hand, so he dropped the gun before words were spoken again.
"Lao!" Sing said.
"Ash, Y/N!" Sing said.
Both of us then walked off and headed back to Eiji. The adrenaline was probably the only thing keeping us standing right now.
"Wake up!" Jessica said when we entered.
"Eiji!" Me and Y/N said as we knelt near him.
"Eiji, Eiji." Y/N said.
"Hurry, an ambulance." Jessica ordered.
"Gotcha." Cain said.
"Ash, Y/N... You're safe... Good..." Eiji said when he came to.
"Eiji." I said.
"Eiji... Eiji!" Y/N cried out.
Another chapter done. How's the different POV perspective? My Spotify decided it'd play Please Never Fall in Love Again by Ollie MN, followed by Die Young by Grandson and then Angel by FINNEAS. Also, I am so so sorry for another cliffhanger!
