The war against the Soviets in Afghanistan…
Muslim Separatists and Communists in the Philippines demanding a separate state for themselves…
Millions upon Millions of people dying of hunger all over the world…
And don’t forget about poverty, and the wide gap between the rich and poor, and the racism, and the oppression, and the rejection happening in countless places all over the world…
The goddess Belldandy shrugged her head from left to right as she was seeing all of this chaos happening on “Earth” all at the same time. As a goddess, she had a wider view of things. She could see all of those events simultaneously as they are happening. And all of those not so nice events are starting to become a pain in her eyes and ears… For she could see all those soldiers and innocent people die… She could hear their screams of pain and their cries… What a terrible sight and sound.
“Why does this have to happen? Can’t I do a thing?” she asked her sister, Urd. “As we sit here and enjoy ourselves, a lot of people are dying and suffering down there. Why can’t I do a thing?!? WHY!!!” Tears rolled down her cheeks. Belldandy sank her face in her sister’s chest and embraced her tightly. “I can’t take it anymore! I just want to help people there… I would be very happy even if I could just help ONE PERSON.”
“You cry so easily sis”, Urd replied. “Haven’t you got used to seeing this? You see, its always the same picture for thousands of years. People kill each other, and the world changes…” She stroked Belldandy’s hair and wiped off her tears.
“But… I WANNA DO SOMETHING TO HELP!!!” Belldandy screamed. “I just can’t take it! Why can’t I help even just ONE PERSON in the world?!?”
“It’s because we are forbidden to do so,” Urd. “You are smarter than me and I suppose you know that. God has given man free will and we must not interfere with events there. You know that rule sis…”
