Request: Hi!! I absolutely adore your Tech fanfics, I love them so much. I was wondering if you could do a Hunter x reader one as well? Doesn't matter what it's about, I know whatever you do it'll be fantastic! Love your writing!

There was a tapping on the barracks doors, meek little knocks that could barely be heard by anyone who didn't have enhanced hearing. Hunter shifted in his cot, the irritating rattling sound persisting on and on. It seemed no one else was going to get it, even if Crosshair was by the door.
"I'll get it then," he snided, shifting from his cot and slouching as he grumbled across the room. The bright, sterile lights on the corridor filled their room like a sea of white, on the other side was your small frame. You had this big, gleaming smile on your face, eyes the size of saucers, "Can I help you?" Hunter awkwardly asked.
You calmed down your excited breathing, but couldn't knock the smile from your face "I couldn't help but wonder if I was in the correct location of Clone Force 99?" Your hands were folded behind your back, but Hunter could hear the creaking of the clipboard, felt how tightly your fingers were gripping the plastic.
"You are, what's this about might I ask?" he was sceptical, no one really interacted with his crew unless you were here to call them some dumb name. You finally brought the clipboard from around your back, showing him your credentials, "Pardon the formalities, but I'm here to question you and your group. I work for a paper company that supports the Republic and my readers have been following the creation of Clone Force 99 very heavily."
"Your readers, huh?" Hunter raised a brow at you, not quite believing everything you were saying, though how would a spy get onto Kamino in the first place. You hummed a reply, waiting for him to allow you access.
While letting you in would be a security risk to his team, you seemed harmless. You weren't carrying anything that could be a weapon, all that you had was your clipboard and a necklace with a shell on it. Hunter shifted, opening his arm and allowing you access into his humble aboded.
"Fella's, meet-" he paused and turned to you, his voice a hushed whisper, "I'm sorry, but I don't believe I got your name?"
"(Y/N) (L/N)." he eyed you up and down before continuing, "Fella's, (L/N) here is a journalist, been following our batch for a while; they want to ask us some questions."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been a few months since you had met Clone Force 99 or more locally known as the Bad Batch. You had formed a great friendship with Hunter, even if you longed for something more, you couldn't help the inclining of developing a crush on the clone. Hell, the man was handsome and he knew it!
After you had published your initial story, the editor got more and more requests to hear stories from these clones; so you kept coming back. And boy, were you glad you did. These guys were some of the best teammates a person could have!
The Bad Batch had gone on a rescue mission two weeks ago, something about finding a long thought dead clone? You weren't quite sure, Hunter didn't give you much detail before he jumped on his ship. But you couldn't wait for their return, well mainly Hunter's. Tonight was the night when you were gonna ask him to hang out...alone.
Every other time before this his brothers were always there, they did everything together which meant not a lot of opportunities for time spent together. Tech and Crosshair were pretty obvious about your attraction to their leader, hinting at it multiple times as well as giving you plenty of occasions to have some one-on-one. But something always seemed to happen, whether that be Wrecker barging in or a mission that would take a cycle to complete.
But not this time, this time you were ready.
You sat near the landing pad, perched on a crate, your legs kicking out beneath you like you were a school child. Your fingers fumbled around with the necklace wrapped securely around your neck, the shell dipping in and around your fingertips. This necklace meant great importance to you, something to remind you of your home planet before it was lost to devastation and war.
The once blue seas and cream beaches were black and red from the fallout. It was no longer a beach paradise that you had always fantasied about, no, now it was the spitting image of hell. You remember sharing many stories to Hunter about your home planet, he was enthralled by them, he wanted to know more about it, but more importantly, he wanted to know more about you.
You could see their ship approaching in the distance, though you were alarmed when only one arrived and not two. You knew the batch were okay, you could see Wrecker's arm waving from the ship; you weren't sure if it was to you or another clone. Feeling brave you waved back and could just make out Wrecker nudging Hunter with a big grin.
They landed and an abundance of clones swarmed the ship, bringing down a machine and placing it onto a stretcher. It must have been a robot of some kind, practically white and ghostly looking, it's head full of holes. Hunter approached you with a tired smile and eyes that said he'd been through a lot. You embraced him with open arms and a heart that beat only for him, "You're back." you stated.
He could only sigh and wrap his arms around you, "I'm back."
------------------------------------------------------------------
After that day, Hunter had proceeded to tell you how the mission went down. And the robot you saw was in fact the missing clone, Echo. He had become a regular member of the batch and honestly, you couldn't imagine the squad without him. It took a little getting used to and a lot of trust on his end, but you soon became great friends over the course of a few months.
Meanwhile, the relationship between you and Hunter blossomed, although it was kept on the down-low for more obvious reasons. If anyone on Kamino found out that the reporter and a defective clone were together, all hell would break loose. You were currently sat on the Havock, occupying Hunter's seat while he messed with the navigation; much to Tech's horror.
"Where we goin', captain?" you mused, hands braced on the controls. Hunter laughed, placing his hands under yours and lifting you from his chair, "You're going nowhere but back to the barracks."
"Aww, what?" you pouted, shifting to sit on his lap, laying your head on his shoulder. He felt you easily settle against him, and in a way, it relaxed him even more.
"I wanna come with, I thought you were doing a safe mission this time?" your fingers continued to fumble around with your necklace, a nervous habit of yours. Hunter gently shook his head, "I never said that," he quickly replied, voice gruff.
His thumb ran over your hand, the rough texture of his suit had lost its uncomfortableness after many hours sat on it, "I just don't want you getting hurt, that's all I ask."
"C'mooooon, Hunter. It's a simple mission in a beautiful city, what's the worse that can happen?"
"Is that meant to make me change my mind?" he laughed, but not swayed. You smiled, pushing your face closer into his brown locks, "I'll behave, I promise."
You had him wrapped around your finger and he knew it, his brothers knew it too; that was his downfall.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Hunter, are you coming?" Echo asked, standing by the entrance of the bunks. The Havock was in hyperspace, a long mission awaited the crew and none of them were looking forward to it; unless you were Wrecker.
Hunter was sat on the edge of his bunk, shrouded in the dark and looking down to the floor, "Yeah, yeah, I'll be there in a minute." he sighed. His thumb rubbed at the necklace in his hands, delicate fingers tracing over the patterns of the shell. He missed you.
Echo caught onto what was happening, saw the miserable look in Hunter's eyes, saw the broken clasp of the necklace in his hands. He took a step back, but kept his gaze on his leader, "Er, oh, I'm sorry to interrupt-"
"No, it-its okay. It's in the past, right?" he shared a look with Echo, knowing all too well about the past and losing someone who didn't deserve to go quite so soon. Echo shook his head slowly in agreement, "Yeah, it's in the past."
Hunter joined Echo by the door, slipping the necklace behind his chest piece, where it lay close to his heart. He should have never let you come on that one mission, such a peaceful planet that so quickly turned violent and murky. You got hit and he couldn't save you, all he had left were the memories and the necklace. He knew if he brought it with him, you were always by your side, spectating the galaxy with him.
