The car ride was mostly silent with an occasional mumble of lyrics from my brother. Me and Drew had a confusing and weird relationship. Most of the time we resented eachother, but the other times, he cared about me. A while back when we were five I fell out of a tree and broke my arm. When he got down from the tree he ran to be next to me, thats how I know he cares. If I'm being totally honest I cared about him, too. The thing is, he can never know that.
I was bored out of my mind because I couldn't use my phone. I forgot to charge it last night so I was charging it in the car. After about an hour we pulled up to a building.
"Alright kids, were here!" my mom exclaimed.
"Whoo!" my dad yelled.
I kept quietand grabbed my bag to go into the building. Immediately after we walked through the door I got a wiff of feet and BO. Hasn't anyone heard of deoderant before? Drew, and my parents walked to the locker room as I followed close behind. My dad was wrapping Drew's hands up while telling him what to do and how to do it. I couldn't stand the smell and my boredom.
"Can I go walk arond and look at stuff?" I asked looking between my parents. I didn't accually think they'd care, but I wanted to make sure.
"Sure honey, but be back before the match starts." My dad ordered.
I nodded before walking off. The match was in about 10 munites so I had some time to kill. Looking out at all the people when I spotted who I assumed was Drew's opponite with what looked like his sister. He seemed like he knew what he was doing. I'm dying to see who wins, my votes not so heavy towards Drew. It was then I realized I was beyond thirsty and I didn't bring a drink. I spun around scanning the place for some kind of concession. There in the hall was a big vending machine next to a water despencer. I sort of jogged over and put a dollar bill in the slot. I put in the numbers for a water bottle. I then heard water trickling next to me. I tilted my head to see the same boy I saw on the other side of the ring. It was akward in the dead silence.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey" he replied.
"Good luck" I hoped more than said just to be nice.
"Uh, thanks. Is he your brother?" he questioned
"Yup, twin" I shot back.
"Cool, I got a twin, too" I smiled.
"Nice" he gave a slight smile back. I got a glance of my brother and dad come out of the locker rooms and the boy looked, too.
"That's my cue" I said taking a small step infront of me.
"bye" he said. I turned my head and smiled one last time before I went to be with my brother.
