Quick before we start, how big a time skip are you willing to deal with in say 4/5 chapters time as little babies are hard to write about because im thinking like a 6/7 month skip at some point
The skip would be after a big ish event in the story
Btw quick thing for plot purposes in upcoming chapters, they are in fact streamers in this and Dream has face revealed :)
It's been little over 48 hours since Adelia was introduced to the household and George already finds himself pulling paracetamol out of the cupboard in a hope that it's going to relieve his aching head. He's been up for two nights in a row with little over two hours sleep each night, the third already not looking good as Adelia screams from his and Dreams bedroom whilst Dream tries desperately to comfort her into sleep.
Sighing gently, George swallows the paracetamol, drinking some water before turning and making his way back towards his room. The screams become louder the closer he gets, head pounding strongly due to the medicine not kicking in immediately.
"Can you hold her?", is the first thing he's met with upon opening the door, a tired Dream with eye bags and tousled blonde hair staring at him longingly.
George was going to refuse, retaliate with something along the lines of him needing to sleep, but with one look at the blonde he can see that Dream has taken it a little worse, his body swaying from side to side as if he's about to collapse or pass out or both. Looking back on the past two nights, he supposes that Dream has let him sleep quite a lot.
As a matter of fact, if his overtired memory serves him well, Dream did the whole of the first night pretty much, up and out of bed whilst George simply lay there unable to sleep as the blonde insisted he didn't need any help. Reflecting on it now he probably should have helped, so with a sigh and a deep inhale he holds out his arms for Dream to pass him Adelia.
"Get some sleep", he mumbles to the swaying blonde, "I'll take her for a walk in the stroller or something", he says softly as his arms instinctively pull Adelia close who is still sniffling softly.
"But George-", Dream protests only to be cut off by the brunette waving his hand.
"You need it, you can barely stand on your own two feet let alone look after a child. I'm taking her out and hopefully she'll fall asleep", his voice is sleepy as well, but one of them has to look after the screaming baby who refuses to sleep and Dream has done enough.
"It's like midnight George", Dream comments dryly, voice not fluctuating in any way due to his over tiredness, "How will you see? What if someone sees you, we haven't told everyone yet"
It's clear his brain isn't working quite right because there's street lamps across every single street nearby, lighting up the roads for anyones use at night. And with not telling everyone, he knows they have fans, however, Dream also knows none of them live in the neighbourhood.
"Dream", George sighs, nudging the blonde with his side, "Sleep", he catches eye contact with his lover and leans in quickly. Their lips meet in a soft brush which George holds momentarily before pulling away and walking out of the bedroom with Adelia in his arms, leaving Dream to get some well deserved rest.
"Come on trouble", George mumbles to emerald eyes that are staring at him with cheeks stained from tears, "Lets get you to finally sleep".
The stroller is by the door, used once by Dream to take Adelia out like the brunette is about to do now when he insisted George had some sleep after the first night of exhaustion. It's all black, a cover on the top that can easily be pulled down incase it's too bright outside which George plans on using.
Carefully, he places Adelia into the pram, she's still in her sleeping bag so he doesn't need to put her in one which makes his job a lot easier. If he had to put her into a sleeping bag he would've probably given up, neither he or Dream can exactly do that by themselves just yet.
However, she's already secure so once he's set her little body carefully into the pram he pulls on his slip on shoes and opens the door.
Humid Florida night air hits his face immediately, beads of sweat instantly forming on his neck which he's grown used to over the years of living in such a warm country. Pushing the stroller out of the door, he closes it behind him, letting it shut with a soft click as to not wake the probably sleeping blonde.
The night is quiet, no cars passing by as George begins to navigate his way around the neighbourhood, hoping he didn't annoy too many houses with Adelias screams on the first street when she didn't stop crying. However, once they turn on to the second street, the crying seems to subside, dropping into small sniffles.
Looking down at where Adelia lays once the cries subside, he's met with her pretty green eyes that are forcing themselves open. The corners of her eyes scrunch up in a way to force herself awake, pink tinted lips softening from their original frown into a relaxed state.
It's then that George knows he made the right decision in taking Adelia out for a walk, as her eyes slip slowly shut and her breaths become steady. Letting out a large exhale of his own, he continues to push the tiny brunette around the neighbourhood, aiming to make a square in where he's going, not wanting to take over twenty minutes.
It's a nice night for a walk, the moon reflecting on the ground to create white streaks along the pathway, directing him in where to go. As he reaches the house again, little tiny snores can be heard from Adelia, the first ones he's heard since she came home with them a few days ago.
Unlocking the door isn't easy, hands trembling in fear that he'll make too much noise and wake sleeping beauty into screams again. However, despite trembling hands and anxious thoughts, he makes it inside with Adelia still sound asleep.
He pushes the stroller into the living room and just instantly collapses on the sofa, not bothering to make his way to the bedroom for a nice warm bed to lye on. If this is the only way he's going to get sleep, then so be it, but as long as he gets some he'll be happy and hopefully wake up with less of a headache, that is hoping Adelia sleeps for at least until she's due her next bottle in six hours.
And so he lets his eyes slip shut, shoes still on, forgotten in his haze of collapsing onto the sofa for a well deserved rest. Adelia lays quietly next to him in her stroller, little hands grabbing at the inside sleeping bag from where she's restricted in her sleep.
And Dream snores softly to himself from the bedroom, laying diagonally across the bed from where he fell immediately after George left the room.
Peace, at last.
