3rd person's pov
Outside of the Town of Orilon, a few miles facing towards the vast forest sat a small house which was in the middle of a large flower field. From the outside, this house looks intimate and cozy. It has been built with burgundy bricks and has brownstone decorations. Small, rounded windows add to the overall look of the house and have been added to the house in a very symmetric way. The house is equipped with a modern kitchen and one modern bathroom, it also has a large living room, two bedrooms, a snug dining area, and a snug basement. The building is fairly rounded in shape. The house is fully surrounded by wooden overhanging panels. The two individuals that lived in this lovely house were two siblings, who had lost their parents years ago due to an evil witch. Since they were fairly young at the time of their parent's death, the older sibling, Damian stepped in as a parental figure for his younger sister, Elizabeth. It was the only thing he could do, so he made it his job to raise his sister and take care of everything so she didn't have to worry about anything. The brother/sister duo were incredibly close with one another, always playing pranks and picking on one another. Although, Damian was older, there were times where he didn't act like it. Elizabeth always wondered if the young man really was the older sibling of the two, often making quips about the young man and his attitude. But all in all, she truly loved her big brother and would do anything to make sure that nothing happened him. Which is why she tried to learn swordsmanship from their neighbor and childhood friend, Baekhyun. Not only was he their best friend, but he was also very wise and talented heavily in swordsmanship. Usually the two siblings didn't have to worry about getting on the towns people's bad side, they were very loved because of the legacy left behind by their mother and father. Daniel and Emiya were wonderful people who helped everyone they could in town, always smiling and making everyone around them happy. This legacy left behind was also seen in the siblings, who would often go into town and help anyone with anything.
But there was one problem, and that problem was in the shape of a young male warlock. He was very powerful and he absolutely despised the siblings, but had a sick twisted affection for Damian. Not many knew of the young warlock since he usually tried to hide in the shadows, rarely ever dragging innocent bystanders into the problems he caused. It was some sort of unspoken rule between the three, that even if he harassed and bothered the siblings, he wouldn't hurt anyone in town. He often harassed the siblings, hating the legacy their parent's had and hating the fact that everyone liked them so much. So he decided that he would make them suffer, and the only way to do that was to separate them. Neither sibling knew that they were in danger, it was just a normal day for them. They had no clue of the looming darkness headed towards their home which was something they should have realized. But it wasn't possible for them to know this, especially because he hadn't harassed them in a while. The last time they remotely had to deal with him was about three years ago, when his mother suddenly left him. Ever since then, he hadn't been bothering them and they just assumed he was still coping from the loss of his mother. The two siblings were currently gathered at their house with Baekhyun, all three of them were having a good time. Unknowing of the danger coming towards them.
"So.." Baekhyun started.
"So?" Damian quirked an eyebrow at Baekhyun, who was sitting across from him at their small rectangular dining table. Damian was very handsome, many girls in town loved to flirt with him but he wasn't someone who played with girls feelings like that. He had short, spiky chocolate brown hair, green eyes which he inherited from his grandfather and fair lightly sun kissed skin. Baekhyun was also a very handsome young man, many girls in town often flirted with him and sometimes he indulged in it but other times he acted quite coldly to them. He was one to never play around with a girl's heart as his mother was the one, who taught him how to treat women. He had a bubbly personality, which matched well with Damian, the two often fooling around with one another. Baekhyun had short, straight blonde hair and light blue eyes which were almost as light as ice and fair, smooth skin. He stood an inch shorter than Damian, but a few feet taller than Elizabeth and he was well built.
"So what, are you gonna make a move or not, Baekhyun?" Damian quipped, looking down at the board game sitting on their table. Elizabeth's green eyes swiftly flitted back and forth between her brother and best friend, trying to figure out if anyone was gonna make a move. Baekhyun let out a small chuckle, slightly tilted his head, licking his lips. He reached a hand out to get the dice, swiping them off the board. He curled his hand into a fist, blowing on it for luck which made Damian chuckle.
"Baek, you still do that? Think you have a chance to win against me this time?" He quirked an eyebrow at the blonde sitting across from him. Baekhyun smirked, shaking his hand. "Well of course, I do. I do have a history of beating you at this game. It's my good luck charm." The sound of the dice hitting each other filled the air, he then threw the dice down on the board. The three leaned closely, wondering what number would the dice amount to. Elizabeth gasped, her eyes filling with amusement as Damian chuckled lightly. Baekhyun slumped in his seat, a dejected look appearing on his face.
"Some good luck charm. Ha." Damian chuckled, but his laughter died down when the house suddenly started shaking. This took the three by surprise, as their area was not known to have earthquakes. Not unless a warlock, wizard or witch conjured it. Damian looked to Elizabeth, his green eyes wondering what was going on.
"What the-" The dice quickly rolled off the table, Elizabeth decided to reach down to pick them as to not lose them. The house shook again, this time a lot more violently, causing her to fall off of her chair, hitting the floor as they heard a large boom come from outside the house. "What the hell was that?!" She peeked over the table as the rumbling stopped, only to hear more booms come from outside. Baekhyun's light blue eyes shifted around, looking outside the window he faced and gritted his teeth. He swiftly held out his arms, standing to his feet as his hands glowed a light blue color. Damian noticing what Baekhyun was doing, quickly stood his feet and grabbed the large scabbard that had been hanging on the wall. This scabbard was once used by their father, he had passed it onto Damian just before he had passed away.
"There's a large golem coming this way. No doubt that stupid warlock has finally come out of hiding." Baekhyun said, a bow and arrow forming in his hands. On his back appeared a large sack, which held more of the blue tipped arrows made for his specific bow.
"Lily, stay here. We'll go deal with the golem." Damian unsheathed the scabbard, "But I want to help. I can help! I've been practicing my swordsmanship, Dami." Elizabeth pleaded, standing to her feet. Damian immediately shook his head, not liking the idea of her taking on a golem. "No way, Lily. I'm not letting you go out there. I know you've been training, but you aren't ready to take on a golem." He said, looking over at Baekhyun.
"Baekhyun, can't you tell-"
"I'm afraid I agree with Damian on this, Lil."
"What?!! But-"
"Stay here," Damian snapped, his eyes meeting his sister's identical green eyes. Elizabeth sat there for a moment, watching Damian look over to Baekhyun and nod. The two headed to door and just as Baekhyun went to open it, a large gust blew the door off the hinges causing the two young men to fly back. Elizabeth screamed, rushing towards the two as they landed over the back of the couch. She helped Damian to his feet, holding his arm as he pushed himself off of her. Baekhyun quickly got back up on his feet, shooting several arrows at the golem who had ripped a large hole in the front of the house. The doorway being completely destroyed due to the attack it threw.
The fight only got worse as Baekhyun was critically injured and Damian was heavily injured, Elizabeth was panting heavily as she tried to dodge the oncoming attacks from the golem. After the first few minutes into the fight, Damian managed to injure the golem but it only made it angrier. In turn, the golem injured both boys and decided to go after Elizabeth who had no way of protecting herself. Baekhyun stood up on his feet, his bow and arrow no longer around. He had lost it during the fight with the golem, so he had no clue where in the field it had landed. He gritted his teeth, his blonde hair swaying in the gust of wind coming from outside and light blue eyes lighting with fire. They had backed the golem out into the field, just a few feet away from the house. Blue swirls formed and a claymore took its place in his right hand, he let out a war cry and charged ahead at the golem. Just as the hand of the golem swung down, Baekhyun jumped into the air, swung the sword down as hard as he could and sliced off its hand. The hand landed on the ground with a loud boom, creating a huge crater underneath it. The golem let out a pained scream, stumbling a bit from her. It turned its attention onto Baekhyun, his eyes widening as the golem swung his foot up and harshly kicked the blonde. He flew back into the house, landing on the couch with a large thud.
"Baekhyun!!!" Elizabeth took off, rushing to get to the house but had no clue that the golem started moving to get her again. Damian shifted his eyes onto the sight, his eyes widening as he feared for his sister's life. With all of his adrenaline, he pushed himself up and took off running towards Elizabeth, screaming her name. Elizabeth heard her brother's cries, looking to her left to see the hand coming down quickly. Before it had the chance to grab her, Damian threw himself forward and pushed her out of the way. The golem snatching Damian instead, "No!!! Damian!!!"
"Get out of here!! Now!!"
"No!! Damian! I can't-" As Elizabeth tried to get to her brother, the golem suddenly sprouted wings and lifted itself into the air. Both siblings panicked, Elizabeth screaming at the top of her lungs. She looked around for something to grab, her eyes landing on Baekhyun's bow and arrows. She quickly picked it up, gripping the wooden bow tightly as she pulled back an arrow. She lifted her face, her eyes trying to find a way to hit the moving target. Baekhyun had taught her archery on top of sword fighting and hand to hand combat. She took a deep breath, finding a target and shot the arrow. The arrow flew quickly, never shifting its course and embedded itself in the golem's wing making it scream. Damian covered his ears, looking down at Elizabeth who tried to fire another arrow but the bow broke causing her to cry out. Baekhyun who had finally stumbled out of the house, looked up when he heard her screams. His breath caught in his throat as he saw the golem starting to fly away with Damian as his captive. He watched Elizabeth shoot an arrow and hit the golem, becoming proud of her quick thinking but worried when the bow broke. He tried to summon another weapon, keyword tried, but his magic was too exhausted and he was too injured. Elizabeth stood in shock, not believing what just happened. Tears sprung in her eyes as the golem got farther and farther away with Damian, who was yelling at the top of his lungs. Baekhyun quickly ran down the steps, rushing towards her as it disappeared completely.
Elizabeth turned her head to Baekhyun, who had stumbled beside her to catch his breath. She dropped the broken bow, wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm sorry, Lil. I couldn't summon another weapon.. Too exhausted." He slurred, her eyes panicking as she took in his form. He nearly fell over but she acted quickly, catching him before he could hit the ground. She lifted him up, knowing that she needed to get him to the doctor and quickly. "Come on, I have to get you back inside."
It didn't take very long for the town's best doctor to arrive at the small house, he had never seen such destruction of the beautiful home. "What happened?" He asked, his brown eyes looking to Baekhyun who was lying on the couch. "A golem. It attacked the house and took Damian." He explained, grunting in pain as the doctor worked on him. Elizabeth knew that with Baekhyun being so injured, she was going to have to go this journey alone. She grabbed Damian's scabbard, which had been lodged into a panel of wood in the wall and grabbed a bag, filling it with food and supplies. This didn't go unnoticed by Baekhyun, who had promised Damian that if anything happened to him, he would look after her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?! You can't go after it!" Baekhyun said, trying to sit up. He winced in pain, the doctor ushering him to take it easy. "You can't go anywhere with your wounds, Hyun." She said, her brown hair swaying gently as she packed the bag with clothes and a map. "That leaves me as the only one who can go and get him." She said, sheathing the scabbard and looping it on her belt strap.
"No. I'm not letting you go out there alone."
"Well, sorry but you can't tell me what to do, Hyun. You aren't my brother or my father." Her eyes snapped to his, "I may not be your brother, but I am your best friend. I will not allow you to do this. You don't even know which way that golem went or where he took your brother." Baekhyun protested, "Actually I do. Its probably taking him to that stupid warlock's hideout which is past the forest to the west. Its a long journey on foot, but I'll be fine."
"No, no and No. I'm coming with you."
"No!" She shouted, startling the doctor while Baekhyun looked surprised. She never yelled at him like that, not even when she was mad with him. Tears sprung in her eyes, she shook her head and grabbed the map off the counter in the kitchen. She turned to Baekhyun, her eyes holding fear and determination.
"I'm getting him back, Baekhyun. You are staying here. You can't travel with those wounds and you'll only slow me down. So I'm going whether you like it or not. I'm not letting that dimwit torture Damian. And I'm not going to lose you because you don't want to listen to me or the Doctor, who clearly has said that you need rest! I'm not losing you like I lost them!" Her eyes softened, tears forming as Baekhyun sighed and shook his head. He ran his fingers through his blonde locks, knowing that she was just as scared of losing him and Damian as she had lost her parents.
"You won't lose me, Lil. I'm not going anywhere." He whispered, knowing those were the words she needed to hear. Elizabeth walked over to him, her hands finding his and interlocked their fingers. "I'll be fine, Hyun. Okay. I promise I'll be back soon." He let out a huff, knowing that he couldn't get Elizabeth to back down. This was something that had purely frustrated him about his best friend, but he also felt somewhat proud. Elizabeth was showing a backbone, showing determination and that was something he had always wanted to see from her.
"You better." Baekhyun said, pulling her into a hug. "I'll stay here and get rest. Once I'm better, I'll come find you, you can count on that. In the meantime, write letters. Tell me about your journey, okay?" Baekhyun asked, "I will." She gave him a light squeeze, shaking her tears away. With everything packed and ready to go, she looked to the doctor who had promised to stay and watch over Baekhyun. She gave him one last look, before leaving the house.
"I promise Damian, I'm coming to get you. I won't let that weirdo keep you. Just be patient. I'm coming."
