**Two Days Later**
I make my way back to the hotel, quickly walking down the bustling sidewalk of 58th Street. It was around 11am, I had just gone to get breakfast from the Magnolia Bakery, just up the street from my hotel. I had a coffee in one hand and my phone in the other.
The street was extremely busy, and I'd learned to just push through the crowds. Apparently this time I was a little too close to the edge of the sidewalk. All of a sudden someone bumped into me, pushing me into the street. Before I registered what happened, the same stranger grabs my arm, pulling me back to safety right before my head hits the car racing behind me.
I look up and even though I am held securely in her arms, I feel as if I am still falling. I faintly register the sound of her speaking to me but I can only nod dumbly. She gets me back to my feet, and just as quickly as she catches me, she leaves.
I find myself thinking for too long after, what a peculiar shade of green her eyes were.
Soon after I hear shouts all around me.
"I got it on camera!" A man to my left shouts.
I look around frantically trying to see what was happening, adrenaline rushing through me still. I look up and see Spiderman on the side of a building as if he smacked into it. That's... strange. Isn't he supposed to have that spider-sense or something?
After I stop at the hotel, I continue to wander around New York City. All throughout the day I continue to spot the mystery girl who saved me this morning, each time noticing something different. The first time I see her again I am making my way into a book store, and she's going into the little shop next to it. All I could focus on was her long blonde hair. The next time I spotted her was in a coffee shop. She was sat down at a table in the corner sipping on a drink. This time I got a chance to see her full face: big green eyes, a little button nose, and full lips. Damn. I try not to stare, but I can't tear myself away.
"Hey are you an idiot or something?! You think the morning commute's gonna wait for you?" I jump at the voice behind me.
"Sorry!" I call back. It was my turn to order.
"What can I get for you today?" The barista asks with a pained smile, probably annoyed at me not moving as quickly as I should.
"Can I get a (your order) ?" I reply sheepishly, making the line behind me unanimously sigh in relief.
"That'll be $5.76"
I finish my transaction, and turn again to find the girl gone, again. I get my coffee and make my way over to where she was sitting, claiming the newly opened seat as my own.
That night I make my way to a small hole in the wall bar hoping it wouldn't be very busy. I make my way inside and order a drink. After about 15 minutes of sitting listening to the soft music flowing from the jukebox and the hum of conversations around me, I see her again. I swear she's following me. This time I don't notice her eyes, her hair, or her face. This time I see her rings, an almost excessive amount on her hands as she drums her fingers mindlessly on the table. One looks like it has writing on it but I can't make it out.
I look up from her hands, and see her looking right at me. We make eye contact and I don't think I can ever look away. I feel my face heat up and she smirks and winks. I- wh- did sh-
My eyes widen and I quickly avert my gaze- staring down at my drink. I look back up a few moments later and I only see the side of her face, she was looking towards the door. I take out my phone to look at the time, and when I look back up, she's gone. I finish up my drink and ask for my bill.
**The Next Day**

"Did you deliver the arrows like I asked?" Pepper questions over the phone.
"Yeah, um I didn't get a chance, but I did see him. Actually funny story about that, I didn't even mean to run into Clint, but I met this girl Kate, and we were in this explosion at a party-"
"Explosion? Party? Y/n What?"
"Let me finish, Pep. Anyways, there were these bad guys we were fighting, and I don't really know why but it was this like underground auction for a bunch of superhero stuff, half of which I designed might I add.
All of the rich dudes there were like super sketchy, and then there was an explosion and these guys in tracksuits started fighting Kate and I and all of the sudden Kate put on the Ronan suit and we left, and Kate had this cute dog, anyways I went back to check on this creepy rich dude and I saw Kate again and she said he was dead and then all of the sudden, you'll never believe it, the guys in the track suits were back and fighting us, and then we were pushed into an alleyway and it was Clint. He didn't recognize me but he kept saying my last name was familiar, I don't know what that was about but ok. Anyways, I gave him his arrows and then we went our separate ways. The whole night was just super weird."
"Ok wow, um number one, I am your boss I will interrupt you when I want to. Number two that was a lot to comprehend, I am glad you are okay though. Three, who's Kate? Is she pretty?"
I groan at the implication she's trying to make.
"Pepper, no. Kate is just this girl I met at the party you sent me to, Kate Bishop. And I am not into her like that. Actually speaking of girls, yesterday someone bumped into me while I was walking down the road, and like pushed me into traffic. But this blonde girl grabbed my arm and saved me. It was so weird, I kept seeing her around the city for the rest of the day and then I was at this bar and I saw her again and she just winked at me and left. I was so confused, but wow she was hot."
"Ok we will get back to that in a moment, did you say Kate's last name was Bishop?"
"Um yeah, why?"
"The big event you have to go to on Christmas Eve, that's the Bishop Holiday Party. It is ran by Eleanor Bishop."
"Eleanor, she said that was her mom."
"Oh, well then you should probably stay on Kate's good side that family is really useful to know."
"Um, ok." I shake my head knowingly as I already see Pepper in my head planning out business ventures.
"Anyways, the other girl, did you actually talk to her at all, maybe catch a name?"
"Well, when she grabbed me I think she asked me if I was ok but I didn't really hear her I was," I trail off and feel myself blush, "distracted."
"Mhm." I can practically hear her smirk.
"I think she might have had an accent of some sort but I don't really know."
"But that's all you got from her, not a name, not an actual conversation?"
"Yeah, that's all I got."
"Wow, you really are useless."
"HEY!"
"Its true, you can't tell me it isn't."
"Okay fine," She laughs at my surrender, "How is Morgan?"
"She's okay. She misses you, and is so excited for you to come home."
"Well tell her I am excited to come home too, big cities are exhausting."
"Okay, well you needed a change, you were waking up, going to work, coming home, watching a movie with Morgan, and then going to bed every day since May passed. It wasn't good for you"
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." I clear my throat awkwardly at the memory.
"Okay honey, I have to go get Morgan from a play date soon, I'm gonna have to let you go. I love you, have fun, and if you see that girl again, talk to her! Ask for her name or something!"
"I'll think about it. I love you too, tell Morgan I love and miss her too."
"Ok, bye sweetheart."
"Bye."
The call beeps to an end and I throw myself onto the bed. God I hate New York.
